Alright. It took me a while, and I may still have accidentally picked something I have told you about before, because the thought first popped up over a year ago, but I don't remember. So I'm sorry if this seems familiar. I don't think I have anything else you would be interested in that you don't already know about. At least as of right now.

I've recently been playing around with an isekai akam idea actually that first seems wholesome, but is very heartbreaking if you really think about it.

It takes place after the fall of the BO. Rei survives, if barely, and with his last purpose to live gone he finally falls into the depression that has been long coming. One day he ends up drinking, missing his friends, wishing desperately to see them again and it's unclear if he simply slept in or if something different and much worse happened.

In the morning he wakes up in a cozy farming game such as Coral Island or Stardew Valley. He's very confused at first, doubting his sanity and his first instict is to make sense of it. At least until he starts meeting the other residents of his new village who are the friends he has lost.

He meets Hiro who becomes his best friend again, Matsuda and Hagi who live together in the local workshop, Date and Natalie who are finally married and own the groceries store. And there are also other people he knows, people who haven't died yet, but who he's come to care about like the Kuduos (how did Yukiko become the mayor of the village though? And has he ever seen Shinichi this happy?) , the Mouris (he doesn't even care about Kogoro that much, but it's nice to see him be a better father in this world), the children and Professor Agasa, Shiho. And finally Akai, of course it has to be Akai and his bloody family again, haunting him even in this new, perfect life he's found for himself.

Though Rei has to admit that his smile is very charming when he offers him to help with his farm.

Meanwhile in the real world, Shuuichi notices that something is wrong and starts searching for Rei. He manages to follow him in the new world, determined to get him out. Only to be shocked when he runs into Hiro. And finally into Rei who seems to be convinced that they are dating!?

I really have no idea what would happen after. If Shuuichi decides to stay in this new, perfect world with Rei and leave him in his happiness. Or if he drags him back into reality where Rei would be much loneliner, but they could have something real. But I really like the conflict this could create. (And the farming game isekai vibes.)

3. Do you ever read fics in fandoms where you don't know the canon?

I think I probably have before, but I don't make a habit of it. I read fanfic for characters I like, and that's hard to do when I don't really know their source material. So, generally, no.

7. How do you find new fic to read?

Typically, for a new fandom, it's: go to the AO3 page for the ship I want -> set language to English -> maybe set to include only complete fics (for now) -> scroll until I find something that sparks interest. (I tend to exclude WIPs at first but may go back and read some after I've exhausted the completed stuff, if I still want more. I've been burned by too many abandoned WIPs that I loved, unfortunately, so I don't feel the urge to go for those first.)

But if it's specifically akam right now that I want to read, I just tab over to the page that's been pinned for probably close to two years now, refresh, see what's there. Or I check tumblr, because sometimes friends post stuff here.

23. What are three tropes that are not for you?

Pregnancy/kidfic (including both of those in one because they're obviously connected), omegaverse (I find the idea and like. societal structure. of it fascinating, but given the actual dynamics that tend to appear, and the fact that it's usually a vehicle for pregnancy, not for me, thanks), and excessive gore/violence/whump with no other purpose.

(So many posts I see talking about how everyone wants to see their favorite character beaten to a pulp and bloody and destroyed, etc, and that is so not me. No thank you. Then again, I also don't really get cuteness aggression, so I'm aware I'm the outlier here on tumblr.)
