Learn the importance of epistemic foundations, the principles and rules of logic, the importance of the burden of proof, the importance of falsificationism and post-positivism, the importance of metrics, and the conceptual outline of the problems of criterion and induction. 2. Make a conscientious effort to spot where a lack of double-blind replicated studies exist in assertions, publications and statements. 3. Make a conscientious effort to spot exaggerated and presumptuous language. 4. Attempt to remain impartial and unbiased in area where metrics and replicated empirical studies are lacking. 5. Attempt a pragmatic and utilitarian approach to decision making in regards to choices based on the best available data. 6. Always attempt to remain intellectually honest. Allow for a positive way “out” of the debate/conflict. 9. Be willing to meet half way when applicable (not always honest or applicable). 10. Avoid exaggerated and charged language. 11.
