Rest in power Assata! When I was beginning the work of reducating myself on the true history of America, Assata was one of the first Black revolutionaries I engaged with. Assata inspired me to be uncompromising in my principles. She taught me the power of revolutionary optimism and building politically motivated community. The way she weaved poetry into her truth telling is endlessly inspiring to me as an artivist. I am so grateful she lived to share her story with us. I hope her elder years were filled with the love she deserved β€οΈπ₯ May her legacy continue to fan the flames of revolution βπΎβ€οΈπ₯
