Most of the information and images circulated about the Black Panther Party draw attention to the more confrontational aspect of the party and it’s encounters with police. Seldom shown are the programs initiated by the party to take care of and empower black communities all over the United States. The Panthers provided a free breakfast program for children, as well as community cookouts and grocery pick ups to address poverty.
