From what I recall of the whole Dream mob vote outcry, it wasn’t specifically that Dream said “Hey, vote for the glow squid” that upset most but that he tweeted out saying he would follow anyone who voted for it (and from my understanding didn’t do so). So, people basically saw this as a form of bribery to “rig” the vote and got mad. While I suppose I could see someone being mildly upset over that, I think people went way overboard in there anger over it since at the end of the day it really is just a game. He mentions making the tweet in a twitlonger he posted on October 11th of last year if you want verification.
