you would always offer to be there for someone who could possibly betray you .

but , truth is , you didn't care if others who you were so kind to betrayed you . you wanted to be remembered as a sweet person who forgave even those who trespass against you .

he would try to get under your tough skin once in a while , if not all the time , and you would immediately retort with wittiness .

but , you wouldn't pursue sarcasm with him .

first , you actually caught him off guard . how could someone so kind and gullible know such defense ? then snap back to being kind and gullible ?

then it hit him . you were smarter than you appeared . you trick everyone into your kindness so you can catch everyone off guard with your self respect .

well , no , it wasn't actually that way . but to him it appeared . because , he overthinks everything , but he doesn't know that .

so when he gets snappy with you , you retort but he immediately accuses you of being a faker of sympathy, and you’re not the only one who can play the sympathy card . Or something like that ,,

you look so confused back at him , like . boy ? no ? soon , he noticed himself being annoyingly interested with you , he wanted to know more , and why you wouldn’t get off his mind . he couldn’t help but notice every little thing you did , in an attempt to know a lot about you , for blackmailing , for accusation, for . . . Well, wanting to know more because he was infatuated . . But , that last one was a lie .

staring at you , asking questions about you ( in an annoying manner of course ) , mocking you , pranking you , and hanging around you were all things he adapted to doing in his daily life . He wanted to know more about your complexity in like , the worst way possible .

you soon noticed how off he was acting , and how weird and slightly apologetic he would get when you would scold him for mocking other classmates , how he talked your ear off, how your name was always on his tongue at some point , etc , etc . . . You were pretty intelligent , once you knew the boy well enough you noticed his odd behavior .

you would ask him at some point ,

hey , are you okay ? you aren’t like . . . yourself . do you wanna talk ?

oooh ,, ! Of course I do ! But , to answer your question , I’m perfectly fine . You’re so skeptical , S/O . Are you sure you’re alright . . . ?~

confused , you shake your head , im alright . Seriously , you’re acting weird . You know I‘m here for you . Don’t have to hide how you feel for me , mkay ?

Fuuuuhhh , your kindness actually kinda smacked him . Only because he isn’t used to it . okay then , whatever you say !~ I can’t believe you , right now , acting so nice to me . . . Im so touched , I might start crying ! . . . That’s a lie though !

Looking at him weird , you just shrugged and said , ooookayy then . . .

he would at some point tell you , that you have to stop . stop confusing him , stop draining his snarky energy , stop treating everyone so sweetly when you’re truly a sarcastic monster , blah blah blah . . . what he didn’t know is that he secretly confessed how he felt without knowing it himself ,,

you get on my nerves , you know , S/O ? always on my mind, confusing me . why can’t you just be gullible and soft ? maybe . . That’s why I’m drawn to you ~

you looked at him confused ,

you think about me ?

that , was a lie , of course . I don’t think about you . being drawn to you ? another lie ~ you really are gullible . . . you’re not fooling anyone , S/O ~

he talks too much . he says one thing and his body says another . he shifted in his place while claiming to lie , awkwardly staring at the ground , avoiding your gaze . he could barely force out a chuckle .

you , however , had a secret talent for reading body language . you could tell somehow he liked you , what words came out of his mouth , how he blurted them out , and yet tried to retract them but he failed to take them back smoothly .

do you . . like me , Kokichi —? you act very odd around me . . .

Hm ? odd , you say ? what makes you think that ?~

umm . . . Kind of the way you act , like . . . you are super awkward , you’re kind of quiet . .

wait , what ? he was acting like that ? he didn’t notice . nonetheless , he summed it up to you being right . he guesses he did like you . it’s either now or never .

he stammered a bit , before just admitting with a soft sigh , hmm, , I guess I do like you !~ what can I say ? You caught my eye !

he didn’t say that was a lie . you were gettin worried now . oh , nevermind . he just tried to sum it up that he was lying to play along with your . . . Schtick , as he‘d call it . but he is shocked you didn’t laugh or be rude to him . so , he soon admitted it was true . How indecisive , Kokichi . But he knew you were the kindest person he has ever met , so why would he be shocked ? so , after you reciprocated how you felt for him , he found himself by your side ,

After awhile , he would be closer to you , open up more to you , and he wouldn‘t mess around anymore . instead of that , he got worse . what a beautiful improvement .

although , his wall is still slightly up . he can’t fully trust you to the best of his ability . but , naturally, skepticism is built into his character .

he still believes you are kind hearted though , wondering how ever someone like you accepted someone like him .

you don’t wonder that, though . you think he’s perfectly imperfect . you love kokichi .

he loves you too . Who would ever know keeping a close eye on you would make him fall for you ?
