*opens her mouth to speak, but as is her way at such pivotal moments, can't think what to say* Um...
*blinks several times and then smiles...and her loquaciousness kicks in * That's...wow...that's very kind of you. Thank you--the name is courtesy of my dad, but that's an old story for a...another day.
Anyway- I guess that we were both in the dark then--which I suppose shouldn't be a surprise when it comes to dealing with a man whose nature is to play things...close to the vest. *steps forward, offers her hand to shake* And I'm truly sorry that things went down like they did. I honestly meant no offense--I was just...gobsmacked...and truthfully, more than a little intimidated...I mean, mere mortal here, and I'm still not used to rubbing elbows with the indescribably...powerful and stunningly beautiful. I swear, I meant no offense...and once Stephen made the why of the situation clear, well...color me contrite and embarrassed.
Now, I don't know if Stephen even quite believes me yet, but once I understood, I wouldn't have asked for you to leave. I mean...I didn't ask, but by then things just took on a life of their own, didn't they? I hope we can get past this...*bites lip* kerfuffle...because Stephen deserves good people in his life, who can appreciate all the good that he's done...is doing...and all the good that he doesn't let himself see, that he is.

I found a mermaid earlier today. She sang but I fell asleep on the boat instead of anything else because I was so tired.
