I have a fic that would be perfect for a big bang fully outlined and partially drafted already. I did post a single scene from that fic as an E-rated one-shot, disconnected from the rest of the work. No posting of the overall plot has taken place. Is there any chance I could rework this to make it fit this year's bang? I'd be willing to delete the one-shot, or make it clear that it stands on its own and isn't connected to the longer work. Happy to come off anon or DM, just a bit embarrassed!
As long as your BB fic is complete on its own and doesn't require the reader to go back and read the previous one-shot to fill in parts of the story, that's totally fine. (And whether you decide to incorporate the scene from the one-shot into the BB fic or leave it as a stand-alone in the same universe, you don't need to delete the original or anything!)
Do we get automatic confirmation e-mails from Google Forms, or will we not know for sure if our signups went through until signups are over?

for the big bang, are there any rules about fic centered on ocs? iβm considering it (& am pretty confident that my ocs are interesting + fit the story world) but i donβt want to have too much trouble finding a match, and there might be rules around that because it could definitely change how you work with an artist
OCs fall under the same guidelines as crossovers: it's fine to have them, but the podcast elements should still be central to the work. For example, we've been fine with fics that heavily feature original statements in the past, as those are solidly positioned within the mythos and storytelling style of TMA, even if the central character(s) are new. Something that's more like a bunch of OCs incidentally existing in the RQG universe but not meaningfully interacting with the characters or plotlines from the podcast, however, would probably not be the best choice for this event.
If you'd like to discuss in more detail whether a particular idea seems feasible, feel free to message the mods privately at any time! The guidelines are based on our past experience (in this case, that the number of artists enthusiastic about taking on a given fic decreases the more it requires familiarizing with stuff beyond the original source material), but we still try to leave as much room for author discretion as we can.

Is the Silt Verses allowed in the Rusty Quill Bigbang this year?
Hello! This year, our eligible shows are the RQ originals: Rusty Quill Gaming, The Magnus Archives, Stellar Firma, Inexplicables, and Chapter and Multiverse. The Silt Verses and other network shows are not included.
how would fanbinding work as an artform for the big bang? since it's possible that the finished fic will only be posted on the same day as the art, is it expected that the fanbinder would potentially be binding a draft version of the fic?
As is the case with podfic, if an artist chooses ficbinding as their medium, they and their writer are expected to agree on a timeline for when the final (or "final enough") draft of the fic should be done in order to leave sufficient time for binding to happen.
We try to build in a bit of extra leeway for folks doing these types of projects at the second draft deadline and when assigning final posting spots, and also take the difficulty of getting any given fic bound/recorded into account when doing matching to begin with, but if an artist/writer pair can't agree on a feasible timeline, we will rematch them to different projects.
