You don't like Monster High g3?/gen I DO like the inclusivity and the songs but I feel like the darkness and conflict that may have drawn people to g1 is missing
Thanks for asking beastie! The short answer is yes and no. The part of fandom that feels like it cares about black mh characters and fat, disabled, and lgbtqia+ fanons made g3 enjoyable for me. I wasn't very interested in g3 until I saw fanart and hcs that gave g3 Clawdeen darker skin and curlier hair textures and then I came around to the g3 characters especially Catty and Venus bc of fandom too. So many in fandom have a way of really bringing out fresh take on mh characters by just letting them be more like real ppl. The main thing is I've always been more into black mh dolls. Fullstop, I really wasn't a monster high kid until I saw dolls like Honey Swamp, Dotd Clawdeen, Sweet 1600 Clawdeen, Scaris Clawdeen, etc. There weren't a lot of black g1 mh characters, but g3 has even less. That's always gonna be a problem for me. My confusion and disappointment looking at g3 Clawdeen (hence me having trouble enjoying g3) is almost the same way I felt when I was like 11 yo seeing 13 Wishes Howleen (took me a while to really enjoy 13 wishes partly bc of this). I def see what you're saying abt g1 involving very serious topics. I grew up on some of the g1 boovies more than any other monster high media/products. With all the love I have/had for mh, I always had mixed feelings abt how it went abt serious topics. I'm kinda critical of every gen, but I still find things I like abt them. Right before g3, I would say I outgrew g1 in a lot of ways, but I still loved the fashion and discovered black cosplays! I only got interested in monster high dolls again when I started watching Rattus Rattus yt videos where they were customizing monster high dolls. The concept of redesigning monster high was genuinely mind blowing to me lmao. Though I like some g3 dolls, I'm also interested in sort of building off of g3 as well as g1. Hence me spending like 5 years lurking in mh fandom lol.

g3 hairclips like boodget day out Frankie and core Venus
Amulette and Chewlian
those sneakers sculpts that mirror converse shoe style
Catty Noir🧶
Certain snack accessories including Lala's strawberry milk, Frankie's lightning bolt pizza, and core refresh lagoona's fish ice cream 🥺
the cancelled show's animation of especially Iris, Venus, Draculaura, and Twyla
G3 dolls that use the more user friendly g2 joints
Base dolls for Catty, Venus, Abbey, and Draculaura (I always wished all g1 mh characters had thicker bodies)
most Venus and Twyla dolls head to toe
deuce being green
Frankie's prosthetic
monster mysteries Abbey
more consistent level of detail in g3 eyes
Chest joint being more commonly used
race bending of Abbey, Lala, Lagoona, headmistress Bloodgood (though I think it could be better)
huge improvement in casting diversity compared to the three white ppl in a trenchcoat playing most of the g1 characters😭 (though I don't know the exact number of white ppl behind the scenes)
