Fancy parties were not Clay’s forte. He always felt a need to be outrageously proper and nice, and he swore he could sense the other partygoers staring at him.
Still, when Apollo insisted that Clay go with him after he had gotten invited to some fancy party by Klavier Gavin out of all people (Seriously, who invites their courtroom rival to a party?), Clay supposed he could make an exception for his best friend.
Just act cool, Apollo had said to him, I-I kinda like Klavier, and I don’t want to be embarrassed in front of him, alright?
...Perhaps it was a good idea he kept his crush on Apollo a secret. It was obvious now that his feelings were unrequited. It pained Clay, and he was tempted to call off going to the party.
But he couldn’t be selfish, especially not to Apollo. Even if it didn’t help him at all, Clay decided he would help Apollo in any way with Klavier.
...Well, almost. If Clay was going to properly meet Klavier, he was going to do it in style. In his own style.
Of course, considering this was a fancy attire party, Clay had to rent out a tuxedo, it was just a given. But instead of wearing the generic black bowtie that the store had given him, Clay took matters into his own hands and found a bowtie that he felt was more... reflective of his tastes. And since the tuxedo had a pocket in the front, Clay figured a nice pocket square would complement the whole look quite nicely.
Right. Now he was ready to go to the party.
Clay waited in a taxi that had been parked in front of Apollo’s apartment, and he was checking his phone every now and then to look at the time.
“Hey kid, is your friend going to be coming in?” The taxi driver questioned in a gruff voice.
“Ah, sorry sir, I-I guess he’s running a little late.” Clay replied with a nervous smile. Man, for being a party that Apollo had constantly made a big deal out of, he was sure running late. 20 minutes late to be exact. Sighing, Clay pulled out his phone.
[Dude where are u? I’ve been waiting in a taxi outside ur house for 20 minutes.] Clay typed, before sending the text to Apollo. After the message was sent, Clay resumed reading a book he had downloaded on his phone.

Apollo’s head felt foggy. Whatever those scientists had given him for all the pain they’d caused must have been pretty strong. It took him a few seconds the register that someone was talking to him. They’d asked him a question. He lazily turned his head to the see who had spoken to him. “Y-yeah. I hear you.” He answered.
At least they were giving them anything rather than just letting them suffer, and Klavier was grateful for that. Still, there was a throbbing in his head that the medication wasn’t able to block out completely. Despite this, his mind was still racing; unpleasant thoughts that just wouldn’t leave, the things he thought of every time he closed his eyes. Sleep was not going to come easy, even with everything they’d gotten into his system. “ I was wondering if you were still awake, mostly. I can’t sleep. ”

~cateyesofdeceit ~askklapollo The group of people was smaller this time, consisting of two. One was Kano, and one was a complete stranger. Konoha didn't know why, but he seemed to attract a lot of people he doesn't even know a lot lately. "Hello, it's nice to see you."
