It was so abrupt, when Keegan’s parents decided it was time to bring her back home. Of course Ferris put on a brave face for Keegan, but there was no denying he was going to miss her terribly. He tried to focus on the positives, she’d get better help for her hallucinations, she’d be with Hershey and her family again, and so on,...but it still all gave him a headache to process. Was this what it was like when he had left?

Moping in his seat, he quietly scribbled in one of his coloring books, frankly feeling drained of his usual energy, figuratively and literally. After trying to stay positive about it in front of others, he just couldn’t hold it up, his brain buzzing with irritation and sadness. At this point he just hoped none of his friends saw him like this, not wanting to worry anyone and make things worse.

Christmas time was here and, true to being her father’s child, Rue loved it. Of course she didn’t really talk about this, only Erika and the other Skellingtons knew how much she enjoyed Christmas. Rue also knew that Christmas wasn’t the widely celebrated holiday in Auradon. Which was fine, she didn’t expect it to be what with the various cultures around here. She knew of some other winter holidays like Hanukkah, Kwanzaa, Winter Solstice, and a few others who’s worlds she had visited.

There was snow on the ground and breathing in the cold air felt like a chilly and wonderful reminder of home so Rue went for a walk. She hated the idea of ‘going for a walk’ because it sounded so cliche and the last time she did take a walk in Auradon she punted a plastic pumpkin.

But this time it’d be nice. Or better at least.

It was for about a minute. Because as Rue looked up instead of down at where she was going she skidded on an unexpected patch of ice. Instead of recovering gracefully and going about her day landed on her back with a loud smack, an arm coming loose as she did. Then instead of being alone, as she wanted to be in the first place, Rue realized she had an audience.

This walk wasn’t going to be much better than the last.

Working in his mother’s shops had it’s ups and downs. Urie could use the conversation-free time to plot his next story out or contemplate the latest plot-twist in whatever book he was reading. Urie could make do with the time he had, which was a lot. Some days could be better than other days. Some days his mom flipped out on him, some days she didn’t. Some days Urie was passive and easily pushed over, and some days he was pushed over an edge.

Today was not one of the better days. When tipped over the invisible edge Urie felt like shouting. Of course, with no voice to shout with, it usually resulted in an attitude people who frequented the restaurant ‘didn’t appreciate’. 

So, here he was, food stained on the back of his shirt (ammo from one of the aforementioned customers) and a limp noodle hanging off his hair. With a sigh he plucked the noodle and threw it over his shoulder in the vague direction of the group of culprits as they left.

He didn’t bother getting the stain of...whatever that was off the back of his shirt. He also didn’t cleanup the mess they’d made, what was the point? 

Ayana still wasn’t sure how she managed to convince her king, Simba and her queen, Nala to let her do this, but she wasn’t going to overthink it. She knew why her father agreed though-he thought it was a perfect way for her to interact with other students. And she let him believe that, but the big reason was her simple wish to have some fun with Alemayehu.

So here she was, giving the last representation of that night. As the lions jumped through the circles and played with the big plastic balls for the crowd gathered to see them, the shaman smiled. This was indeed the greatest show. She wished Eniola was there as well.

The demonstration ended and most of the felines went to get some rest, the others choosing to meet the students there instead. Ayana was going to serve as an interpreter for them. She noticed the first guest, her features getting more serious as she noticed what she thought was a camera. She stepped in front of the animals in a protective manner.

“No pictures allowed. It overwhelms them. “ she explained pointing to the sign behind her. “But you’re free to make drawings or paintings.”She suggests.

“So, uh...” Tai begins, conversing with the person seated next to him, mainly to try and get more information about the incident. “Heard homecoming was kind of a disaster. I’m somewhere between being glad I missed it and upset that I didn’t witness any of it.”

Hannah had done a lot of research into what she was doing from the moment she’d agreed to help out. It did work out in her favor that she also roomed with Isabella, and could get her critiques on her practice works leading up to this point. Though, she knew this was going to be incredibly different.

She’s never painted on a person before. She doesn’t like a moving canvas, she doesn’t like being that close to people, she’s not really a fan of the details, and besides, even when the person was sitting in a chair, she was often too short for that and had to get a stepstool just to get the job done, but she had been willing to put up with all of that, for her best friend.

Hannah was setting up her supplies and making she’d be good on paint for a while when she heard someone approach behind her. She turns with a warm smile, trying to pretend she was normally this sweet and open and welcoming. “Hi there!”

Cora stared at her wardrobe in horror. She had been over the moon when Cole asked her to the dance (and to be his girlfriend- goblins, she loved the word), that she’d spent most of the past few days daydreaming about the dance and forgetting a very crucial fact: she had nothing to wear.

Sure, she had her tons of leather pants and shirts, but that was hardly dance appropriate. Then there was the blue dress she’d worn to the Valentine’s Day dance, but that wasn’t exactly her favorite memory (nor would it be Cole’s favorite of her, she suspected). There was the gold gown she’d worn to Erika’s birthday, but Evie had specially designed that for her. There was no way Evie could make something for her with so little notice. And Vora wants this dress to be special. It had to be more than special- it had to be perfect, because it was the first time she was going with Cole.

“What am I going to do?!” She groaned, grabbing at the different clothes in her wardrobe and tossing them over her shoulder- and completely missing as one of her boots whacked someone.

Life on the Isle of the Lost was what it had always been. Some days were better than others, though. But Eniola had a beautiful habit of constantly looking over her shoulder when she walked out of her father’s territory. Her cane, a simple one with a crudely carved lion’s head at the top, had been stuck in the dirt so many times the wood had stained, and Eniola always went down with it.

Just letting her mind wander over to how she was treated because of her limp made Eniola growl. She quickly shook the thoughts away, she didn’t need to be thinking about that. Eniola didn’t want to become old and bitter because no one else had been taught to treat people right. It wasn’t her problem.

Eniola had set off of the territory with a bag over her shoulder and a lost in her mind as she headed out for the market. She had heard some troubling things lately, and had heard from certain people that made her think about her past. But Eniola preceded to think of the future, and in her future there wasn’t enough food in the house.
