Davey has messy handwriting

It's either really jumbled, hard to read cursive or calligraphy when he wants his writing to be neat

The newsies can barely understand his handwriting (even though most of their writing is worse)

Canon Jack sends younger newsies to Davey to learn to read

Once a week they meet up (like at a park or in the lodging house) and Davey will read them Les's old books

Older illiterate newsies will also go to Davey's weekly lessons

Davey brings books to the lodging house every few weeks and they have a mini book club

Davey also brings them food his mom cooks

The boys absolutely love his mom's cooking

Somtimes, they'll randomly show up at the Jacobs' house for food

Modern high school student Davey is interested in photography

He has a hard time expressing his feelings in words, so he does it through his pictures

Davey excels in photography to where he is taking senior photography classes as a sophomore

He also has a comfort plushie bc he gets stressed out a lot

Davey likes cats, but is allergic to them

childhood friends au but someone moves away and then reunites with the newsies when they're all adults

Oh a college au but here me out on this one

Their academic counselors decide to randomly assign each other a random student to write letters to

And ik cora is an english lit major in ur college au so she writes these insanely amazing letters to davey

But they dont know theyre writing to each other bc theyre academic advisors made them all use aliases

He gets a bit intimidated by her but sends her letters anyways

And then like after 2 or 3 months they meet for the first time
