What even constitutes eye contact when you’ve got like 17+ eyes between you?

“I have been on the move for so long, seen many beautiful things in my time, because I have never desired to sit still and stagnate. I want to continue to experience these new things the universe has to offer, and I would enjoy if my own could learn from that as well.

Home is not simply a fixed point on a map. Home can be anywhere you want it to be. Maybe ‘home’ is just this moment right now, surrounded by my friends and family, being able to experience life with them.

Enigma looks up, into the treetops. “We’d need to not only find the Grimray, a difficult task in a forest this large, but also convince them to revert us. Typically a Grimray casts curses to protect itself, and a Mew is quite a powerful creature, so we’d need to make quite a compelling case for ourselves if we want to be separated.” They explain. “And all this assuming our theory about the kind of Pokemon responsible is correct. For all we know, it could be a particularly adept Pokemon of another species, rather than an average member of a species that specializes in curses by default.”

Hohoho! Nergal is susceptible to the forest’s curse! Will the the curse take something, or will he leave unscathed? We’ll have to wait and see! 

“Yes. By which we mean areas trainers can access.” They explain.

“Uh.......do you just mean humans in general, then?”

“Yes.”

“.....I...don’t think I’ve ever seen a human, aside from myself I guess. But that means I’m from the human side, so how are we...here, then?”

Enigma hums. “That is an inherent part of the way Zones work, actually. Most Phantumps that die to become them actually do so in Mystery Zones.”

“Wait, seriously?? Why?”

“Mystery Zones are inherently easy to get lost in. It is impossible to leave the same way you enter one, and therefore, most humans that attempt to traverse get lost, die, become Phantumps, keep going, and end up on the Pokemon side. Some manage to take a long route to manage to exit on the same side of the Zone that they entered, but it’s rare.”

“Hmmmm.......so I probably lived on the...’Pokemon’ side, then? Before I came here?”

“If you’ve never seen a human before, then yes, it is likely.”

Lucy’s eyes narrow a bit. “....what’s it mean that I’m here, then? If this forest is a Mystery Zone?”

“Likely, it simply means you wandered back into a Zone without meaning to. Without knowing what a Mystery Zone is, it’s relatively difficult to tell one apart from the surrounding area, especially if you’re on the Pokemon side.”

“Huh. And, uh, you said it wasn’t just the forest? That curses everyone, I mean.”

“Correct. There’s an individual causing the curse itself, but the warped energies of the Mystery Zone cause it to have more unpredictable effects.”

“...how do you know, anyway? Have you met them?”

“We have not. Really, it’s just a theory of ours more than anything, but it makes the most sense. A Pokemon living here is the perpetrator.”

“....what kind of Pokemon do you think?”

They close their eyes. “The Ghost King Pokemon itself.”

She tilts her head. “What?”
