Dua, is the weapon of a believer.
I stumbled upon this beautiful advice, which said, “if your dua is not answered, you should increase the standards of your dua.” It got me thinking, it got to be true, cause, whatever the dua that we see from all Allah (swt)’s prophets, including prophet (sal), all their duas are incredibly powerful and profound. They address big things like poverty, health, life, provisions, blessings and so much more. In the essence of the prophets’ duas lies a comforting humility, in front of Allah (swt).
You are just a slave, who is asking the all capable, utmost powerful, Al Qadeer, to take a look at what you are incapable of, and what you lack. The prophets knew how minute they’re in front of their magnificent lord. So when they ask, they not only asked with a tone of desperation but also, with a tone of conviction and Yaqeen. They were fully aware of not only His power but also His mercy. Which kind of a mighty lord would probably address themselves as a loving friend? Which kind of a magnificent king of the world and the heavens would probably address His slaves and say “come take advantage of my mercy, I’m the most giving.” Subhanallah.
Thinking of how merciful Allah (swt) is, literally gives me goosebumps. If there is no change in your situation or life, before you complain, know that Allah (swt) is perfect. WE are imperfect. If there is no charge then it is more likely, that our efforts are most probably not up to the standards, and there is no way Allah (swt) is making a mistake or being stingy with His blessings. So shake yourself and ask. Get on your knees and ask. Wake up for Tahajjud and ask, find the instances where Duas are most accepted and ask. Ask, the loving, supportive, kind, giving, most forgiving lord that your Allah (swt) is. He feels shy to leave raised hands empty. Subhanallah.
