Hi! I just wanna say, I love your art and all your head cannons! 🥰 I’ve been playing DmC5 and I’m obsessed with those Devil bois! I’m all for cute head cannons, I’m also a fan of despicable me and the fanart with Gru and the trio of trouble makers. 💖 So my question is, what kind of dads would Dante/Nero/Virgil be with three little girls?
First off... thank you! 💕
Doesn’t matter how many girls Dante has he’s wrapped around each of their little fingers. They’re his little angels.
He cherishes every playtime, every tea party, and slays every fashion show. He loves to rough house and pretends to be overpowered by them (he puts up a little fight though to really sell it).
Doesn’t have very many rules he’s all about the fun. But that doesn’t mean he doesn’t care. He’s very careful especially with his line of work and his weapons. It’s one the few things he gets serious about. Their health and safety is his number one priority. He never yells at them. If he does it’s because he was so unbelievably worried or scared he’d loose one or all of them. He’s not mad at them he’s mad that they could have been hurt
He’s not one for punishment. If they did something wrong he’ll let them know and tell them how he can do better. Sometimes a time out is in order or a trip to their bedroom, but his form of discipline is more on the “i’m not mad just disappointed” front.
He’s a little clueless when it comes to certain things and needs to call in Lady for help. He means well but he’d rather not mess it up. Especially when his girls start that time of the month. Now he has to play health teacher and THAT is a job for lady. He has no problem going out and getting whatever they need but he’s a bit always in asking for the specifics. He’ll ask what brand, what size, how many. But he has no shame in running those errands.
He’s ready to talk about anything and everything. Boys, girls, insecurities, fears. His ears are always open. And he always has a shoulder to cry on. He doesn’t give the best advice but he’s a good listener.
His girls are never too old for snuggles. Never. And he’s more sentimental than they are. He holds onto their old stuffed animals, blankys, baby shoes. He documents every big moment and keeps them all in an ever growing album. He’s a real sap of a dad.
Nero strives to be the best dad he can be. He knows what it’s like to grow up without one so he does his very best to be the best father ha could be. He wants his girls to know he’ll always be there for them. No matter what.
Like Dante he loves play time and is willing to go along with anything. Although he’s a little more smug and hesitant than Dante. He’ll throw in a subtle eye roll when he’s poured a hot cup of air (I mean tea) but as long as his daughters are happy he’s happy.
He loves singing to them. Singing them to sleep as he tucks them in, or serenading them while he makes dinner, sometimes even having a whole ensemble. It’s a fun family time to all just be around each other and sing together. They make up songs, or just sing whatever their favorite song is at the moment.
Like dang ehe didn’t have many rules but unlike Dante he’s a tad bit more strict. Not too much though. He’s a little more firm when he tells them to clean their room(s) and he’s a little more miffed when they don’t cooperate. Also similar with Dante he’s not one for harsh discipline, growing up in a super tightknit religious community he knows that harsh punishment only lead I him rebelling and causing more trouble.
He’s much more in the know and in tune with what his girls are feeling. Probably from growing up with Kyrie. He knows how to handle many uniquely feminine situations and he handles them with grace. His beautiful rosebuds never have to worry about not being able to open up to their dad.
Like Dante’s he’s a good listener. But unlike Dante he’s more willing to give advice and try to solve the problem but he also understands that sometimes a problem doesn’t need to be solved and just talked about. He’s great for venting like that.
Nero teaches his rosebuds to never be ashamed of themselves. Of who they are or what they are. He tells them about how he felt living with his demon arm and how others treated them and he turns that into a lesson about respecting and loving yourself despite what others may think.
(Now I cant stop imagining Nero with 3 baby sisters)
Vergil’s not making the same mistake he did with Nero. He’s going to be there for his darlings. He knows it’s not fair to Nero but it wouldn’t be fair to them if he wasn’t. He’s going to be a real father this time.
He’s still his cold rigid self but you can see that facade melt away when he’s with his girl’s. While he’s not bouncing off the walls like Dante he still engages them. He prefers stimulating their minds, playing games with them that involve a little more strategy. Like puzzles, reading, or even chess when they’re old enough to learn.
But even his darlings are free from rules. And he sets them hard. Chores, homework done by certain times, teeth brushed and pajamas on before 10 o’clock. He wants there to be order in his home.
Unlike Nero and Dante Vergil is more reliant on discipline, not corporal punishment, no he prefers a good old fashion grounding and confiscating of items. He keeps them safe in a hidden slot and will give them back once they’ve learned their lesson and have had a good long lecture
Vergil is a teacher, and life is his school. He wants his little girls to learn, to think for themselves and to set their own paths. He wants them to be their own people. He knows what it’s like to be under someone’s thumb with no free will. So while protective he avoids being overbearing
Vergil’s not very expressive but that doesn’t mean he doesn’t loves his children. If they ask him to smile for them he will with no hesitation. He’s also not stingy when it comes to hugs but he can turn on “scary dad” whenever he pleases.
He’s just as much wrapped around their little fingers as Dante but less obviously so. He’ll participate in whatever playtime they want but if you walk in on him in a tutu playing princesses. He make sure you never speak of it again
