Just need you to know that I’m obsessed with the Polytrix love child and need all the backstory and little tidbits you have floating around your head.
asghfjkh thank u I'm glad!!! sorry this took a million years to answer i had to edit it a million times bc it was faaarrr too much information
I really dont have too much planned ahead, I'm just writing as I get inspiration... I can't decide on the kid's gender or anything because I can see anything being cute, you know?
But i have MANY tidbits and will tell you as many as youd like to hear... these are just some pre-baby thoughts bc i need to not write a novel rn.... we can talk about Moms Polytrix in the future lol
baby polytrix totally wasn't planned, but Polytrix is married (publicly, and let's pretend being poly and gay is widely accepted and the fanbase is mostly supportive in this fictional universe) and they do want kids at some point - this is just a lil earlier than they'd thought.
the plan was always for Mira to carry the kid, luckily that’s still what happened by accident since zoey’s sorta extremely uncomfortable with the thought of like... almost everything that being pregnant would entail. and she has a hard time controlling her moods/depression/anxiety NOW, could you imagine her with all those hormones fucking up her shit? She's scared.
That being said Mira still has some Family Trauma to work through that she didnt realize would be a problem later on w the whole… motherhood thing
anyway. so like she WAS on birth control but demon genes are... apparently persistent and hmm, now it's happened twice (the first obviously being Rumi's parents) and Celine thinks maybe she should have made that connection and realized. oops
Mira tells Zoey first simply because she's home when Mira takes a test and when its positive... she needs someone. And Zoey doesn't freak out (externally), just brings her to the couch and holds her and says they'll talk when Rumi gets home and until then they don't need to think about it. Unfortunately Rumi's a fucking wreck when she finds out :( she's apologizing to Mira and blaming herself until ZoeMira talks her down. And then, when they really talk about it, really think about it...
they want this. and they want each other. and they kinda think that it's actually the perfect time now that they think of it.
Anyway its like, kind of a busy time for Huntrix and I think Mira abruptly goes on hiatus a little earlier than planned which causes a lot of public speculation.
And you know how Public Speculation goes with kpop idols. So they do confirm that she's pregnant and "out of an abundance of caution and after consulting with her doctors Huntrix' Mira will be starting her hiatus early."
Sorta not a lie but also she's Not doing great, and it did take a LOT of convincing to get her to take the break earlier than planned, bc obviously it's really difficult for Mira to admit when she needs a break
its actually Bobby that gets through to her. Bobby has no clue what's going on, just thinks its a *normal* difficult pregnancy. But it's a really honest, soft, loving conversation with Bobby in a dressing room after an interview that gets Mira to slow down and listen to her body and take the hiatus.
Zoey and Rumi are supposed to be active until a few weeks before the baby is due. this doesn't happen either. their wife needs them and they are Wife Guys(tm) so it's probably like halfway through (a little while after the fill about them running out of the awards show) they announce the full group hiatus so they can be home doting on Mira.
They move in with Celine to Jeju where it's safer from demons and paparazzi alike. And Celine is a huge help, making foods that she found Miyeong could keep down while pregnant with Rumi, keeping Rumi and Zoey calm, convincing Mira to relax and otherwise taking care of all three of them again. That also means sending Zoey and Rumi on errands so they'll give Mira a goddamn minute alone.
Rumi, with all her free time, of course tries to be Super Mom. Tries to assemble the nursery single-handedly (Zoey is the one who winds up building all the furniture quite easily, to Rumi’s bewilderment) spends her time doing hours upon hours of research, starts buying literally everything in the baby supplies store.
Zoey learns to cook from Celine during their time back on Jeju . I subscribe to the belief that Mira is the best cook and loves to cook for her girls, Rumi is a functional cook (can make a balanced, simple meal with no frills), and Zoey has a 50% chance of making something downright inedible.
Mira is going a little crazy being stuck in one place; she tries to keep herself occupied with long drives or short walks (depending on how she feels), reading through an entire library of books, trying to do a little yoga or dance if she's feeling up to it, etc. but she really isn't someone who stays still very well so it's another challenge.
All three are dealing with anxiety in their own way - Zoey is actually faring the best here. She knows Mira and Rumi will be amazing mothers, she thinks she'll be a pretty fun and loving one, too. She's actually... excited. Mira is increasingly dealing with persistent thoughts/ dreams/ etc about her relationship with her own family and if that's going to fuck up another generation, and Rumi pretty obsessively worries about Mira's health and safety.
The delivery is, frankly, terrifying. It's at home. They've found the best midwife money can offer. Celine has the nearest hospital on standby and emergency plan after emergency plan ready.
It goes almost perfectly. Mira is very, very tired and sore but she's healthy and the baby in her arms is healthy and Rumi and Zoey are on either side of her crying, and holding and kissing them both.
and then Celine is holding her grandchild who has Rumi's beautiful patterns and a striking resemblance to Mira even when they're only minutes old and she couldn't be happier, couldn't be prouder
