#because Fâs route is so insanely overlooked in real life#thus proving Fâs canon perception that they are nobodyâs first choice
you speak nothing but the truth and my heart hurts đĽşđĽşđĽş
Yours and mine both. đ Thatâs why stuff like route polls bum me out because I already know whoâs going to get the least votes.
The good news is F stans are super vocal about how much they love them and produce some of the best content in the fandom. So even though F could always use more love, at least what little they get is top quality.

Hiya! Iâm Doll! Or you could call me Freckles! I used to work at Noahâs Ark Circus! I saw Smile and Black made one of these ask account thingys, so I made one too! Figured he might wanna know Iâm a reaper now! Soooo, hey @ask-cielphantomhive and @ask-sebastianmichaelis!!! I want you guys to ask me things too! Anyway, my pronouns are she/they! Hope I have a good time here! Thanks for the pfp Finny!
Do you have specific colours you associate with UB? Personally I'd say M red, F yellow but an orangy yellow, N olive green and A blue, but specifically the blue of a sky that's about to rain.
I'd be interested in seeing if other people think differently, I feel like I've seen more art of A with green details but maybe that's just because they're highlighting their eye colour
What a great, straightforward question that I will not at all use as an excuse to spend over an hour crafting color palettes for.
So my answer is pretty similar to yours and probably a lot of people's, due at least in some part to the color schemes Unit Bravo tend to gravitate towards in canon as well as their individual personalities. But I definitely don't think UB should be limited to a set palette by any means. Like if I actually tried making a palette with every color that totally says F to me, for example, it would have like 50+ shades. So just keep in mind these are my main color choices, but not my only choices.
Answer under the cut because I'm not kidding. I made palettes!
A, unsurprisingly, is all cool tones to me. They're stoic and calm, but also intimidating and hard to connect with. So for them I see a lot of blues and greys. Solid, dependable colors with zero flashiness.
As for slightly more unconventional choices, I've always seen something in the dark maroon/Sienna/burgundy family? I've got a couple outfits in my A Pinterest board that feature this color and I just think it suits them nicely. Same with a paler green that reminds me of those icy green eyes of theirs:
N has a calming, steady presence about them that's really warm and inviting. They're that old book smell, that warm cup of tea, a comfy leather chair. So my brain immediately goes to rich greens and browns when I think of them.
For secondary colors I zero in more on that warm, almost Autumnal aspect of N's personality specifically and move towards rich oranges and yellows:
M's colors are on the deeper side. Lots of darker shades, particularly in the red and black families. The kinds of colors that are often associated with things of an edgier, more alluring nature. Like M.
My secondary M colors seem to be on the faded side for some reason. Very little vibrancy and in shades that always make me imagine the clothes they have in these colors are probably pretty ripped up.
F could rock any color, period. Their closet is probably a rainbow explosion and I love that for them. There are many, many colors I associate with F, but in general I see colors with a lot of vibrancy. This is especially in great contrast to the more subdued palettes of the rest of the team.
Secondary colors I particularly love for F are reds and teals, but seriously. Give me F in pastels, neon, dark colors, heck even a neutral palette. I want it all.
IâM SO EXCITED!!! This is a HUGE indicator that Book 3 is on the way and Iâm so glad I finally donât have to store all my Book 2 choices in my brain anymore. Guess I know what Iâll be spending the rest of my week doing!

Okay okay sorry to be bothering you once more but I just finished A's route in book 1 and yeah I've really been missing out. It's actually more emotional on his side than I was expecting, maybe not directly to the detective but as the reader seeing everything.
Oh and that bit where he calls the detective by their name in the hospital, or with the Murphy and thralls attack when he's being all protective over them but not in the 'this is just my job' way. And when the detective is passed out in his arms ngl I had to laugh a little when he just tried to order the detective into being awake, but it's such a moment when he's realising he doesn't want to lose them but he still doesn't have the ability to communicate that properly.
A please, just let me love you
Youâre definitely not a bother! I love talking about TWC, especially with people who read one of the routes for the first time.
Iâm glad youâre enjoying Aâs route so far! I think that level of emotion kind of throws people for a loop at first since Aâs so stoic usually, so itâs always fun when people see how deeply A feels about things and the ridiculous ways they try to make it seem like they donât. And those little moments when the wall A has up cracks a bit and you see these little glimpses of feelings shine through just get me every time. The name slips, softened gazes, the little touches (especially around late Book 2 and Book 3 demo) justâŚgahhh I love them so much. And itâs so funny because theyâve convinced themselves that theyâve masterfully stuffed those feelings of theirs so far deep internally that no one can see them and N and F and even the detective on occasion are like âYeah, youâre not convincing anyone A. Least of all yourself.â
Head empty only thoughts of long distance touch lamps with UBâ¨
Omg just imagine M scoffing when the detective gives them the lamp before some mission where theyâre going to be separated for a while because âA lamp? Seriously?â But they take it with them anyway to humor the detective and after a while it surprisingly ends up being a HUGE comfort.
Like sure M will play it off as some silly gift to anyone who asks, but the second that lamp lights up theyâre right there with their fingers gently touching the warm surface and their eyes closed as they try to telepathically feel the detectiveâs presence. Itâs no substitute for the real thing, of course, but for those few brief moments the distance feels shorter and those intense hypersenses almost seem a bit duller.
Sera actually answered this back in the day, but didnât expand on it so I will lol.
Aâs is âActs of Serviceâ which actually makes a lot of sense considering how much they struggle with being open and vulnerable with their feelings. They prefer a much more subtle approach, one they can easily write off as just doing their job if they get called out on it. Examples of Aâs love language include the multiple times theyâve gone out of their way to walk/drive the detective home (I know every LI does this, but it hits particularly hard with A when you consider this is their way of expressing care) as well as several instances detailed in some of Seraâs old scenario asks, my favorite being this sweet fic about A volunteering to help the detective make cupcakes. Thereâs also a really great fic on Patreon about A spending the morning clearing snow off the detectiveâs car and clearing an entire pathway for them to leave and ahhhhh it just gets me every time.
Nâs is âQuality Timeâ because of course it is. Spending time with the people they care about means everything to them. Maybe thatâs why thereâs so much emphasis put on how dang hard it is to get a moment alone with them in their route and why, when they finally manage to squeeze in some alone time, N always seems really happy. A great example of Nâs love language is their line during the research scene when the detective comments on how at ease they seem and they respond with (and Iâm paraphrasing here), âHow could I not be? You with me in my favorite place? I wouldnât mind seeing you in here a lot more often.â Just think of how happy N must have been in that moment. Honestly, if they hadnât left to stop themselves from getting too horny they probably wouldâve sat in there with the detective all day. And there have also been several asks that emphasize Nâs distaste for distractions like phone calls when they and the detective are doing things together and oftentimes they will tell the detective that they donât want them to focus on anything else while they're together. Seriously, why would you ever focus on anything else when N freakinâ Sewell is in front of you? What could possibly be more interesting? Look, bottom line is weâve seen how difficult it is for N to get a moment alone with life and their teammates always getting in the way. If the stars are finally going to align and give N a few precious moments with the detective, then they want to make sure theyâve got the detectiveâs undivided attention because they never know how long itâll be until the next moment alone. So you better believe theyâre going to make every second count.Â
Fâs is âWords of Affirmationâ and it makes a lot of sense given how openly F likes to express their thoughts and feelings regarding, well, just about everything lol. IÂ mean, just think of all the times in the books so far that Fâs called the detective attractive or smart or amazing. Theyâre not doing it just to be a flirt either. F is a very blunt person who tells it like it is, so if they tell the detective theyâre amazing itâs because F truly believes with every fiber of their being that the detective is amazing. And they want the detective to know it too. Fâs love language is particularly interesting to me because, out of all the members of UB, F is the one who is most in need of a partner whose love language at least somewhat aligns with theirs. I donât think Fâs partnerâs primary love language has to be words of affirmation, but I do think they need someone who is willing to toss them some of those praises every once in a while, if only to reassure them that the love they're pouring out is wholeheartedly reciprocated and not just one-sided like some of their previous relationships. And honestly, what would be better than getting into a compliment battle with F? Nothing, thatâs what.Â
Mâs is âPhysical Touchâ and sure yeah that does include those kind of touches, so itâs not really that big of a surprise. But itâs the softer touches that really get me. There were surprisingly quite a few examples of the gentler side of Mâs love language in their book 3 demo, including running the back of their hand along the detectiveâs cheek in silent comfort in the forest scene, holding the detectiveâs hand if they were particularly afraid of the bounty, and the soft neck kiss they gave the detective before leaving them at their door in the warehouse. These gentler touches are going to become more and more commonplace as Mâs route progresses and will eventually become Mâs preferred way of expressing their love for the detective as opposed to outright saying it. Which I just really really love for them. Thereâs so many unspoken things in Mâs route, so many subtleties that seem unimportant, but actually hold a lot of depth and meaning when you examine them closer. And so the idea of Mâs fingers brushing the detectiveâs when they sit near each other or M absentmindedly leaning closer to the detective when they have a conversation, especially if Mâs not aware theyâre doing it, is just so delicious dude like I don't know what to tell you.Â
