my oh my. on a general note i'd say enemies to lovers, on a - ever so slightly - more specific note i'd say strangers to friends to lovers to strangers to friends to enemies to lovers :PPPP iykyk

Oooooo... Possibly @justanotherwannabeclassic’s Roses in December series. Or @welllpthisishappening’s Out of the Frying Pan (or that one Yankee!Killian fic where they reconnect after years). @winterbythesea‘s Given the Choice. Or, maybe again, throwing way back, Lovestoned by... jaegermighty? something like that, never found out their tumblr handle. Or, throwing back again, The Reformed Scoundrel by headoverhook (again, not sure their tumblr handle). 

That was a lot of different answers, but they’re all faves. And I read them over and over again. 

D7. Why did you leave your most recent comment? Will you share it with us?

I’ll admit - I’m terrible about leaving Ao3 comments. In my defense, I always make sure to say something on tumblr reblogs. I think my last comment may have been a few months back on @eirabach‘s “Emma as a Time Lord (Lady?)” fic from years ago. She made me cry, I had to yell at her about that. 

On tumblr, it was on @snowbellewells‘s Music Man AU. Think that reblog is still in my queue, but I scheduled it last night.

Who was your first ship?

ooooh so I think it was Caleb and Cornelia from w.i.t.c.h.! sadly they broke up in the comic so clearly I prefer TV show hahahaha also Danny and Sam from Danny Phantom! I remember they’ve never released all episodes in Poland so I watched last ones in English, not understanding the half of it but I had to know how it ends!

2. What’s the best time of day for reading fic? Why?

At night, before bed, when I’m ready to wind down and relax. Reading fic is akin to reading bedtime stories. The downside is I’ve had many nights where I stayed up till 2 am because my genius brain thought it was a good idea to start a 30k fic at 12MN. Hahaha. 

5. Which story have you read more than any other? How many times?

Idk, tbh. But I tend to cycle through my fave authors works, especially if they’re relatively short. I just checked my bookmarks and here are some???

7. Which character is your favourite to read about? Why?

At the moment it would probably be Lan Wangji and Lan Xichen, just because I love how people can play around with their stoic/serene characters and make them go wild, tbh.

My first fandom was The X-Files back in 1994. I do reblog TXF gifs on occasion, but don’t really read TXF fics anymore.

There are so many fics that I’ve read multiple times that it’s impossible to give an absolute number 1. Many ficlets by @kate-dammit-run , most fics by @indelibleevidence like Torture Without You or Remember to Forgive, or whumpier fics by @i-am-out-of-my-vulcan-mind, for example Time, Three Words, In Sickness and in Hell or To Forgive and Forget.

C1. What trope are you tired of reading? Why?

There are so few fics in the fandom that I’m not sure I’m tired of reading any trope per se.

A4: What is your AO3/FFN username? Has it always been that? 

So sharkmartini came from a feverish five minute brainstorm with my husband as we were setting up a Halo reach LAN party. I used to live in a basement with these guys who LOVED playing first person shooters, and it was the first of many of these parties- when we realized I had never activated my xbox live account and needed a username ASAP.

The thought process was something like: I love sharks, and I arrived late to my own party because coincidentally it was also half price martini wednesday at my favourite college bar.

Thus sharkmartini was born. I made my AO3 account around this time and didn’t want to have to rethink the whole thing, so I stuck with it and don’t plan (and probably cannot) change it because now it’s stuck.

C3: Is there anything that makes you nope out of a story? What is it? 

I used to believe in finishing every book and fic I started- but then I read ‘Everything is Illuminated’ by Jonathan Safran Foer. (Sorry to JSF & fans.) Now I know life is too short for that, and I have become instead a very picky reader to make up for lost time.

The things most likely to make me nope out of a story (meaning abandoning something I wanted to read it in the first place):

lots of technical errors (i mean LOTS. We all make them, it happens, I’m not your English prof but sometimes it distracts and I lose my hype and wander off to do something else)

non-con

ooc (I actually like campy and crack fics, but sometimes it distracts and I lose interest)

stories that are all about being ‘shocking’ or ‘edgy’

I sent it because I wanted to acknowledge that 1) I had read it and it had an emotional impact 2) I honestly wanted to know

My commenting style swings wildly between thanking people for sharing and telling them a quick thing or two that I liked or making sarcastic comments at them- for people I know IRL like Ash they get stuff like that. In the New Year I hope to leave more substantial and better comments.
