Thomas wrinkles his nose at the giant frog Dee has caught, watching as Dee hefts it near the fire and starts to immediately use the dagger that was stuck in the frog to start to prepare it for consumption.

“We’re... gonna eat that?”

Patton looks up at Thomas, a genuinely curious expression on his face at Thomas’s question. He takes a step towards Thomas as he speaks.

“Yeah, have you never eaten frog legs before, Thomas?”

Thomas glances over at where Dee has disemboweled the giant frog and is laying out it’s organs to prepare them. Dee raises his head to lock eyes with Thomas as he feels Thomas looking at him. He smirks at the slightly disturbed and somewhat squeamish look on Thomas They hold eye contact for a long moment, Dee still somehow working on the body even as he isn’t looking at what he’s doing. 

Thomas finally pries his gaze away to respond to Patton’s question, “No, I have not.” 

Patton’s mouth drops open in a gape and Thomas sees out of the corner of his eye that Logan is smirking much like Dee, but his is much more subdued, as he hears what’s said. Before Thomas can even blink, Patton darted over to Thomas, and with a surprising amount of strength picks Thomas up, who struggles instinctively at the sudden action by Patton for a moment until his mind catches up and he realizes he being carried.

Patton places Thomas down beside where Dee is working on the frog corpse and without fear or hesitation grabs the frogs heart and brushes it off a little before gesturing for Thomas to hold out his hand. 

Thomas, knowing what’s probably about to happen, cranes his neck away even as he holds his hand out for Patton. Patton places the heart in his hand and Thomas shudders before giving the organ a gentle squeeze and realizing it isn’t as bad as he thought.

That is until he suddenly drops it out of nowhere, Patton having to half dive to make sure it doesn’t splat on the ground, placing it back where it was.

“Sorry, just... nerves, I thought it was moving but it wasn’t.” Thomas apologizes as he instinctively wipes his hand on a part of his cloak.

“That’s okay!” 

Patton and Thomas talk a little, with Logan coming in a little later as the conversation continues.

“-so I said- Oh, hey Lo!” Patton gives Logan a half hug as he sees him approaching. Logan stiffens at the action, but only for a moment of shock, relaxing when he realizes what occurred. 

Logan ruffles Patton’s hair, “You always figuratively spring those on me.”

Patton’s expression turns vaguely worried, “Do you want me to stop? I can if you wa-”

Logan grips one of Patton’s hands as Patton starts to pull away, Patton whipping back with a shocked expression at the action.

“No, Patton! It’s... quite alright.”

Patton’s eye flicker down to their linked hands and the ghost of a blush starts to appear on his face when Dee calls over.

“Dinner’s ready!”
