My name is Crumpet, and this little hellhole of a blog is where I spend most of my unhealthily chronically online time! With their mask off, they have their slightly transparent ears, which can be anything. Their tail is also weird and semi transparent, can change shape to whatever.

Scone's leg structure can change but is usually the paw one in most pictures. The most accurate colors are in the chibi ref. Sh scars are preferred, but optional to draw if they make you uncomfortable :]

really does make the heart happy that the first fursona was by a Black man who is an outspoken trans ally. the furry community has been a home to me, one of the safest places i could go, for so so long, and as much as i do sometimes get anxious as an indigenous tgirl, it really does make me feel better & a lot more proud of who i grew up to be knowing the man who started it all cares about people like me

the only reason i have never been groomed online is because when i was 10 i befriended 17 year olds who taught me how to interact with older people online safely.
yall have got to stop being scared of children online and start actually teaching them the ropes. because if you are not up there with them then they're going to be completely alone with the creeps and have 0 metric for what is and is not an appropriate relationship. this also applies offline.

My spouse and I were talking last night and the jeans problem came up so I want to talk about it with tumblr here.
The jeans problem was the favorite lecture one of my philosophy professors in college gave about the history of jeans and how it ties into capitalism/mainstream culture absorbing and monetizing any counterculture it encounters. So prior to the 1950s jeans were mostly an item of work-wear that you wore on the job as a farmer or factory worker or miner because they were cheap, durable, and hard-wearing. If you were off the job you'd wear what we'd call now dress pants or slacks. This changes in the 1950s when youth culture start wearing jeans as regular clothing, again because they're cheap, durable, and hard-wearing. But then jeans get absorbed by the culture and we start getting designer jeans, acid-washed jeans, pre-ripped jeans, and now we got people shelling out hundreds of dollars for "povertycore" aesthetic. And now jeans aren't even cheap, durable, and hard-wearing.
This came up because my spouse was talking about thrifting and spooky things (two of her favorite things) and how there was this trend of buying a landscape painting from a thrift store which was probably going to end up in a garbage dump and painting a sheet ghost on it to make it art millennials would like. But now you can go to Michael's or Home Goods or wherever and just buy a landscape painting with a sheet ghost on it, mass-manufactured by a corporation. The counter-culture once again being monetized and absorbed by the culture. It's the jeans problem again.

definitely do wanna make like, an essay or something at some point about how orange and green as imposters and as characters in general are really good representations of very specific evils that exist in corporations, but i also wanna say that with that reading, it is so interesting how the two crewmates that get ejected are orange and yellow. the hr rep who spent their unpossessed life glazing a company that harmed others and their possessed life doing that tenfold, and the union rep who was one of the most vocal (although ineffective) in trying to call the company out were both booted in the same way: mira approved execution. like there's a real irony there, and while my reading on orange thematically isn't the kindest to them, a real tragedy in them approving their own execution and smiling through it, because they still can't let go of their company loyalty. it does not matter if you swallow that boot whole, the minute you are deemed a "problem" to the goals of the company, your fate is gonna end the same as the people you were trying to help the company silence. you're just as likely to get dumped out with the trash
