for the longest time, gian was what you’d consider a golden boy of sorts. impressive grades, extremely talented, loved by any authority figure ever, on the road to a getting a college scholarship. literally the one kid every parent wished was their son tbh,

gian is a great listener. i can guarantee you that he’d hear out a total stranger just because they have no one else to reach out to. he always wants to be that person who helps everyone out even if he doesn’t get anything in return

he’s very much the good kid yea, but that’s pretty much all everyone knows about him ?? he doesn’t reveal much about himself, instead choosing to put on that good kid facade in front of everyone

in actuality, gian if far from the perfect image a lot of people have crafted for him. behind his mask he can be... a bit of a mess, and way too emotional for his own good. his temperamental attitude and need to hit things as a coping mechanism has definitely nearly gotten him into trouble many times

his parents’ death has arguably made him feel the worst he’s ever felt. he still tries to be the golden boy but it’s hard when his heart is heavy and his brain if filled to the brim with grief. a lot of the negative parts of him start to show every now and then and it only makes him feel worse.

montfort family is yet another one of those wealthy and pompous family that seem to flock to ashcroft. it is said the family has links to 18th-century french nobility, but if there’s any truth behind that who knows. in ashcroft, they’ve been perceived to be a perfect family, but behind doors, things were much different.

bas is the second son of a loveless and dysfunctional marriage that has only lasted this long because appearances are everything for his parents. his parents have been cheating on each other probably for as long as they’ve been married and their two kids were nothing more than a nice accessory.

though caring when present, his mother was always busy with her own life. social gatherings and trips with her son’s tennis coach taking much of her schedule. his father, on the other hand, was extremely controlling and overbearing. at times, physically and psychologically abusive to get his kids to fall in line. 

he always pushed both montfort children to be the best and set some pretty high expectations for them. their whole life was traced for them, from diapers to university and beyond. he has done a nice job making bas feel like no matter what he does it will never be enough. that he’ll never be enough.

the one person he always had was his older brother, xavier. he as his best friend, his protector against their father’s excess and the golden boy of the montfort boys. but that was taken from him when he was thirteen and his brother was sixteen. they had been out with jet skis when xavier’s was hit by a boat. 

life followed with his mother spending more time away from home and his father focused all his energy on making bas the perfect heir (at least on paper). his secret is very much about that. his whole school career his parents donated stuff to school to keep him there, and when he finally graduated his father didn’t think twice before going all aunt becky and getting bas into bu one way or another. 

oh. before i forget, boy is also scar’s baby daddy. ops. 

personality !

what can i say? he is an asshole. it’s genetic and he got it from his dad. the end. jk jk — he is an asshole, there’s no way around that. part of it is because it’s just the way he was raised, and that is the idea that being too nice to people won’t get you anywhere. unless it’s just some good old manipulation. it was always about being first, being best and taking what you wanted. and then there’s a part that is for protection. a way to keep people’s distance and get some sort of control of his own life and the narrative. and, if he’s being honest, people need to get a tougher skin if they’re going to feel insulted with every truth he says.

but he’s not all snark and bluntness, he can be very charming too when he wants. he has been groomed to take over his father and knowing how to present oneself and interact at social gatherings is very important. yes, he is manipulative and knows how to work people into getting what he wants. he’s arrogant and elitist so don’t expect this one to be remotely politically correct. and he’s very unapologetic about it too. just a great guy. he’s too cynic for love and thinks it’s all a transaction. thanks, dad, for that one.

he has been brought to be in control of his emotions. emotions are a weakness and if you let others see them, they will use it against you. though sometimes his temper gets the best of him, which only makes him angrier. more than being reckless, bas is self-destructive. he rushes toward trouble and danger with a smirk on his face. it’s like he’s constantly daring life to do something. maybe that’s exactly what he’s doing.

there’s a part of him that he doesn’t want anyone to see, though. the coward who can’t stand up to his dad. the guy who’s utterly lost because everything about his life to this point has been carefully orchestrated by his father. he wants nothing more than to break free and just be himself for once, but he just doesn’t know how to do it. doesn’t think it’s possible at this point.

Melissa and Jackson Clarke didn’t plan on having a child until much later in their lives, but nothing goes as planned. They did their best when it came to their son, but it was very clear from an early age to Finn that his parents didn’t have it easy. His mother a server at Maystone and his father a gas station clerk, they did their best when it came to providing for their son. Finn grew up without expecting much and ignoring what others had around him that he did not.

He also quickly learned how to be independent. There were many days Finn would walk home alone and come home to the lights off and his parents gone. Fending for himself just became part of his every day life. When he became older, instead of going straight home he would hang out around ashcroft park with friends or skateboard through downtown. Late night parties or sleepovers at friends’ houses. Finn was always more comfortable anywhere but in the quietness of his parents’ house.

When Finn turned fourteen, fresh in high school, his troubles with sleeping began again. Much younger, he’d had night terrors for a string of time but those passed and he returned back to normal without any issues. But after repeated nights of what they thought were night terrors but worse, Finn’s parents took him to the doctor. Another another doctor. And a third doctor before they talked big words to explain that his brain was over-reacting too much while he was dreaming and his body was reacting to it. 

Things in the Clarke household only became more stressed--mostly due to the lack of sleep from everyone in the house as they tried different methods and medications for Finn. Eventually they found one that helped the best, but it still wasn’t perfect. That’s when Finn found his interest in music. If his free time wasn’t spent outside by the water or going on adventures out into trails, he was listening to music and playing music. Broke into the high school band room to play on the drum set whenever he could. Begged his parents for money to buy his own instruments only to be told time and time again they couldn’t afford it. Music gave Finn solace--transported him into a world where nothing could touch him. His nightmares couldn’t touch him.

The last year of high school for Finn was mostly just skating by to the best of his ability. He wanted to go to college, to study music and work specifically in music therapy, but his parents couldn’t afford it and Finn didn’t manage to snag any scholarships. He gave up his dreams of music therapy and settled for staying in ashcroft. Eventually he got a job at the music store and soon enough moved into an apartment above the store on the main street.

Finn’s been living in his own place since then, with his two cats Lennon and Stevie Nicks. He’s still working at the music store, but he loves his job and started up teaching music lessons to kids by posting up flyers in the store and outside the store. On his off days, he’s either with his friends or he’s off finding hiking trails outside of town. Finn loves nature, his apartment filled with photographs he’s taken on his hikes from top to bottom. And as much as he loves to just lay in bed with his cats, he always feels more comfortable outside in the open, surrounded by trees.

jackson sinclair was born lucky. the eldest son of leopold and ginebra sinclair, he had a silver spoon in his mouth from the moment that he was born.

his entire life, it was clear that the sinclair name was only known for one thing: wealth. his father owned a chain of hotels, inherited from his grandfather, and his mother have her fingers in the oil business. both their families separately had more money than they knew what to do with with, and together? they were practically gods.

that’s how jax always thought of them, anyway. he idolises his parents, thought that they could do no wrong and lived their best possible lives. parties every weekend, summers in europe, never wanting for nothing because whatever they wanted, they got.

they spoiled him rotten, too. whatever he wanted, he got without argument. most of the time, anyway. they may have given him what he wanted, but if he ever acted out against their rules, he lost it in a flash. cars would be taken away and his accounts frozen if he shamed their name, his father expecting much of him as the eldest.

he got a lot sneakier after learning that lesson the hard way, and before long, he was a mastermind at avoiding their suspicions of what he was doing. school bored him, the man far too intelligent for his own good, and there were many days where he ditched to go drinking with his friends, making up for it with his grades and that he was paying the office to mark him as present when he wasn’t.

he was kind of rough and tough too. kinda had guzman vibes from elite? easy to piss off, even easier to get a fight out of. he was 100% that ass that had his friends hold a guy down while he beat them up.

when he graduated high school, he went to MIT to study physics and chemical engineering.

it was also around that time that jax learned about the real family business. not only had his father been grooming him to take over command of the hotel business, but of his side business. turned out mr leopold the first had control of the crime ring in all of massachusetts. he profited from everything, had control of the police as well as the drug trade. 

it was a lot for jax to take in and accept, but his father had always had a way of wording things to make anything sound like it made sense. he talked jax into it, little by little. he already knew how to use a gun, and had been boxing since he was a kid, and he already had the smarts and potential to be involved in the running of that business.

even more than that, his past relationship with ariana became more intense.

he really fell in love with her, and when they found out they were having lena, that only solidified things for jax, even if he was terrified.

three kids later, jax really was feeling like he was on top of the world. he had his kids, his wife, was doing well in his transition towards taking over the family businesses. the only kink came up when ari was getting invested over her father, and everything went to shit.

when she left, he was in denial for a hot minute. he thought that she was just in hiding to escape the backlash of her father getting arrested. then a week past and no matter who he sent and what he tried, she hadn’t come home and he had no information.

he could only assume the worst. that she had been kidnapped, or killed, or worst of all, that she had simply left.

with a newborn to look after and two young kids, jax had a really hard time readjusting to what his life had become without his wife. over the years he tried his best, but he definitely had his shortcomings as a father and made mistakes in those early days.

still, he was trying. he did his best as a father, gave them freedom and all they could want, but still put his foot down when need be. 

he lost his father a few years after ariana left, and he officially took over the hotel chain, as well as his underground business. he ended up buying out a chain of restaurants and taking over them to in order to expand his empire, as well as sitting on the board of his mother’s business.

has basically spent the last twenty years working his ass off. he wanted all of his business to thrive, and he completely chased the power that came with it all. he wanted everyone to know his name, or the persona he created for himself when it came to his less than legal activities. he wanted to see his kids through school, raise them the only way he knew how.

has been such a womanizer over the years at first bc he couldn’t commit to another woman again ( esp bc he was p sure they were still married ) and then just because it had become a habit.

he’s at a point in his life now that he thought he could just relax, and become more of a man of leisure. work is running smoothly enough for him, and he has been spending more and more time lately out on the yacht, attending dinner parties and underground fight clubs.

james is the eldest son and only child of king harold philip alexander and queen anneliese mary renaldi, and also first in line for the throne. a normal life was not set out for him with his parent’s shoving his destiny down his throat and the genovian public watching his every move. 

with mention of his parents, they didn’t raise him, as much as they say they did. they spent most of their time during his childhood out with the public, attending to their royal duties while jim was left in the castle, on his own with the nannies and the staff. he doesn’t remember the first couple nannies he had, but when he was around 5, his nanny jasper was his everything. 

jasper taught james everything he knows, from royal etiquette, playing soccer, pulling apart and fixing things, how to read properly to discovering his love for puzzles and numbers, the art of flirting ( which came naturally ), exquisite music taste. he was more of a father to jim than his actual father was, and to this day he loves the man to death. 

as much as jasper made things fun while learning, his parents were too old fashioned and were rather mean in their teaching ways. during homeschooling, if they were home they would come in and if he was slumping over, they would dig their knee into his back and roll his shoulders back to sit him up straight. or belittling him when he’d forget which fork to use, or wouldn’t ace a test. they were strict, and expected too much from him. needless to say, they filled that emptiness inside of jim where his parent’s affection should have been with presents, so his love for luxury and indulgence came from there.

cliche, but once jim got old enough and was made/allowed to attend the private high school instead of finishing off with homeschooling, he rebelled. he would sneak out of the palace late at night and go drinking with the boys, or skip class to smoke behind the gym. making out with the girls and the guys at the lookout and being the main attraction at the parties. he obviously got a lot of attention, got everything he wanted at home and at school and he thrived. 

he’d show up to royal gala’s or public events where he needed to be the prince, not james still drunk or hungover and needless to say there were many screaming matches between him and his parents, all of which made him not want the throne even more. harold and anneliese came to think that it was just a phase that would die out after he was bored with rebellion, so they organised college in america for him.

THEY FUCKED UP.

his parents thought that jim would grow bored and sharpen up by spending time away from home and in america, but they were so wrong. james was in his fucking element, partying every night, breaking into buildings for the sake of it, drink driving ( ouch ), rocking out to 80s rock, stick and poke tattoos, sleeping with whoever whenever. there was no slowing down for this prince. 

he’s slept with so many people like wow, he’s my biggest hoe and we thought troy was a hoe. wow. he got nothing on this bastard. he would use his title to get him laid a lot of the time. women and men. jim would do the deed, and the second he was finished, he clean up and leave without a word. he was a hump and dumper and if he saw them again, he would act as if he didn’t remember them ( half of the time he probably didn’t ) or would even go to the extent of ‘ugh you’re in my face go away’. nasty nasty. 

that was until he met his lovely, beautiful wife genevieve. this bih didn’t give into his charm and that was hot but frustrating so you know, he was in for a challenge and even to this day when is eve not a challenge? lmao no. but honestly, meeting and falling in love with gen was not what jim expected, but man did he fall head over heels. he is a whipped mofo and to this day, still is. gen could say jump and he wouldn’t even ask how high, he’d just do it. maybe probs asks how high atm considering the affair but that’s another story for another day!!

he knew he didn’t want to go back to genovia to learn to be king, but when eve came to him and told him he was pregnant, that was that. his parents didn’t approve of eve, and there was no way they would allow it to happen and with that, james disowned himself from the family or firm as he likes to call it now. sacrificed the throne for the love of his life and family and moved permanently to america. 

it is a decision he thinks about often, but he honestly cannot imagine his life any other way and with anyone else by his side. his family is everything to him, and he vowed he would not be like his parents. he wanted his kids to have a proper childhood while still involuntarily enforcing manners, etc and his high standards. but most importantly, he just wants his kids to be happy and healthy and will support them with whatever that may, even if he doesn’t quite agree.

moving to ashcroft was a compromise between gen and him, and tbh he loves it. a short drive to boston with a small town vibe, the only problem is, it’s a small town. everybody hears everybody hence why he keeps his old self locked away, no one knows his past other than gen. wbk gen knows everything ok they inlove kahfkasg

when asking about emily, most people would remark on how different she is now compared to when she was younger. growing up, emily was very quiet and didn’t talk to many people, often hiding behind her parents or older brother. but it was clear from the start that she had a high intelligence and was very artistic--this primarily why she tended to be in her own world and it was hard to pull her away from it.

high school was very hard for emily from being bullied quite a bit, but she had a very small group of friends that made it easier to get through the days. the idea of going off to college had been far more daunting but emily swallowed her fear and took it on with a new perspective. because of that, emily opened up more during college. she was able to find her place and while she still wasn’t the most outgoing person, she was getting there. soon enough emily had a solid group of friends and even if she didn’t like college, she adored her friends.

it was during college, however, that emily started using drugs. she’d been a sophomore and the pressure of the future and not wanting to disappoint her family weighed down heavily on her shoulders. she had no idea what she wanted to do--she’d only picked a major she thought would make her dad happy. at the same time, emily tends to get stuck in her head quite often and sometimes it isn’t the best place for her to be... using drugs was an easy escape introduced by a friend.

emily loves her family regardless of anything and would absolutely do anything for them. when she was spending some time over at a friend’s place recently, a group of them decided it would be fun to watch some scandalous videos. emily wanted nothing more than to do anything else. but it only took the first pick for emily to realize she recognized the woman as her mother. that night, emily stole the old video and pretended to be sick to leave. she still has yet to tell her family or talk to her mother about it--distraught that she even still has the video hiding in her closet at the bottom of a box of old stuff from when she was a kid

around six months ago, emily felt her life slipping too far out of her grasp and she desperately wanted to get it back on track. she took a “trip” and checked herself into rehab, playing it off as needing a break from college and wanting to see something new. she’s been clean since she got out and has done her absolute best to stay away from drugs--even alcohol. but lately as her stress has been climbing again, she’s been feeling weaker to saying no.

julian grew up running around in fields and chasing after the hounds on the family property. it was a small town, one where everyone knew each other. you could go off the main road and hit up donna’s general store or uncle leo’s hardware store that sold the best muffins. julian’s family owned one of the farms--mostly corn and pumpkins. his parents put in long hours in the fields and always made time for their kids at the end of the day. with five children, including julian, it was always a chaotic household.

he loved spending time on the farm, but he also loved spending time reading and running around mary abbott’s antique store. julian loved listening to the history, the stories of the people behind each trinket. that only continued to grow as he became older and school gave him the opportunity to learn more history. his parents fully supported his hobby, did their best to find the money to spare to buy him books. when it came to their children, jenna and jacob were supportive with every endeavor to the best of their ability. that included being supportive of julian when he came out to them at an early age.
