The smile froze on Sasuke’s face, and that was when he first realized he was smiling. Not that smiling was bad or laughing was bad, but Sasuke couldn’t help it. It just---It had been a while. Lee’s comment had taken him off guard. Sasuke had found it funny. He hadn’t thought about suppressing his reaction or expressing his amusement through other means. 

It was fucked up that Sasuke had to make such a big deal out of it. He knew he had issues, he’s been having therapy sessions for them since his parents’ murder. Maybe that was why laughing now struck him as this odd circumstance where he was reacting weirdly out of place? And for a reason he couldn’t understand! 

Good thing Lee was some sort of lunatic. He had no room to judge. But also, Sasuke didn’t take him to be the type of person who would. The way Lee had said that, Sasuke hoped he’d keep talking and make Sasuke laugh again.
