#arrow 1x07

So I’m not ready to re-watch yet but I miss what was my favourite show - so I’m reflecting. Thanks so much for those who made the gifs!

I’m doing this based on how the gifs are tagged so it may not always be 100% accurate…

- Oliver on a motorbike. :)

- never found someone running to be so attractive. Who needs the Flash?

- Merlance were cute in this episode. I'll give them that. I like that they're at least developing a little better now.

- confession? I think Laurel was really pretty in season 1.

- Shirtless workout scene. We took it for granted in season 1. @hope-for-olicity is keeping tally.

- Diggle talking some sense to Oliver.

- I like that Tommy talked to Oliver about dating Laurel.

- Finally!!!! Some sense coming from Moira about Oliver. '...stop judging him for the Oliver he was, and start accepting him for the Oliver he is now.'

- season 1 is reminding me how much I missed the villain of the week formula that was ditched in season 6. I hope we get back in s7.

- the dinner scene between Oliver and Helena, he talks about there being days where he felt free on the island. Those are the days he missed.

- 'it's really nice to be with someone I can be myself with'. As dark and as much as he tried to cut himself off, Oliver has always sought out that person. It's this and his loneliness that draws him to Helena. But he finds that one person in Felicity. Truly.

- Diggle sass; 'I've seen her on the Web, you made quite the sacrifice.'

- Helena's the Huntress! I did not see that com...oh wait.

- Oliver has a blind spot when it comes to people he can relate to. The bankrobbers; he tried to give them the benefit of the doubt coz of his dad. With Helena, he has feelings for her and can see himself in her darkness. She is a good mirror for him.

- Quentin apologising to Oliver for almost getting him killed lol.

- Malcolm is Tommy's father! He's also an ass.

- 'no one can know my secret' now the shoes on the other foot, Ollie.

- Walter's back!

- Thea giving good sisterly advice about him being lonely.

- I did always kind of like Helena. I'm a sucker for the darker/morally grey types of heroes/anti heroes. I also think that she and Stephen had decent chemistry. But once again, the relationship was born out of loneliness and Oliver wanting to save her.

- No Felicity, but I still enjoyed it. Again...no La*river.

Oh. This is the Helena one. Actually, when I first watched this episode (before I had hope that Felicity could ever be a real option for Oliver), I kinda liked the idea of Oliver with Helena. I mean, I liked that Oliver told her the truth about himself, and I liked that they didn’t have a toxic history, and I guess I, like Oliver, thought that she wasn’t past redemption. I mean, aside from her whole crazy vendetta, she was a pretty sympathetic character. I guess I was always a bit disappointed that she was beyond redemption, because I find it unrealistic that anyone could go from one extreme to the other. (I mean yes this is a comic book show, so we clearly have to suspend our disbelief all the time, but the characters are typically drawn pretty realistically, which I generally require.)

This scene where Tommy confronts Malcolm - is this the first time we (the audience) realizes that Malcom (the antagonist) is Tommy’s father?

I would also like to note the presence of the soft-music-playing sentimental scenes, which there have already been at least 3 or 4 at this point. Because this has never been an only-action show, or a non-sentimental show. It has always been a good mix.

In honour of the 150th episode of Arrow I thought it couldn’t hurt to reminisce about some of my favourite moments of Arrow - based on the gifs available ;)  I’m starting to think this is simply stuff I miss BIG TIME.
