Arrma Vorteks Body

As you know, the Arrma Vorteks is a stadium truck. This means that its body will be a combination between the powerful and the sporty body type which is exciting.

Seeing the Arrma Vorteks body will give you the impression that this is the perfect RC truck that its body has every single piece of equipment that makes it able to give you goosebumps every time you see it!

It is true that if you have something like the Big Rock, the Arrma Vorteks body might seem a little small in comparison to its chassis which is true.

But what you need to know is the bigger the body is, the easier it is to be broken. The smaller the body is, the stronger it gets.

Furthermore, the Arrma Vorteks come in three colors, red, purple, and green. These colors are not the only ones on the body, but they are more outstanding than the other colors.

I think that some of the things that will make you think a little bit before you buy the Arrma Vorteks are choosing the colors.

The front

With those aggressive sharp headlights and high-quality body paint job.

The front of the Arrma Vorteks body is protected by a small part of the bumper stuck to the chassis (More info in the chassis section below).

Even if it’s a small part, it has a great value in protecting the body against direct shocks and crashes.

On top of the Arrma Vorteks, there are two plastic skids. These plastic skids are able to protect the top of the body in case of a flip-over, no one wants to ruin that great paint!

The great thing about the front of the Arrma Vorteks body is the big wheels. How’s that? Those big wheels are acting as support and protectors to the front of the body, especially from the sides.

That will make your RC car more secure.

The Rear

When it comes to the rear of the body, you’ll find some interesting details, they’re not real but still make the Arrma Vorteks look cool.

Those details are black painted, they contain two other clips within which makes them hard to see. This way, the clips won’t ruin the look of the RC car like the front ones

And of course, we can’t ignore that big spoiler. It’s a simple spoiler but it helps a lot with aerodynamics and the increase of downforce, especially when going at high speeds.

Another cool feature that is not available on all Arrma RC cars is the wheelie bar that comes with this vehicle, it’s so important to maintain the balance when accelerating.

And, in the back end, you’ll find the redlight stickers that look beautiful as well.

Arrma Vorteks Chassis

Let’s remove the body and see what’s underneath it. It’s the Arrma Vorteks chassis of course. (not funny I know)

First of all, the Arrma Vorteks comes as a Ready to run RC car, which means that you won’t find any missing electronics or parts that you should buy except for the batteries of the car and the transmitter.

This is something we’re used to.

In comparison to the Big Rock and the Granite, you’ll notice that Arrma Vorteks has a lower chassis (low ground clearance).

This is not a disadvantage since this RC car is made for speed as well as off-road. You can go anywhere with no problems at all.

The other advantage is the fact that the chassis is located between these wheels, it’s protected and can have a longer lifespan.

This low ground clearance is because of the short shock towers and shocks.

The arms are also short which makes this RC car smaller in terms of width in comparison to the Big Rock. However, it’s easier to control.

The front bumper that we mentioned earlier comes with an additional brace that keeps it a little far from the shocks and shock tower for extra protection.

The structure of the suspension system in the rear of the Arrma Vorteks chassis is a little bit stiffer than the front with wider arms and more diagonal shocks.

The wheelie bar is an important part that we shouldn’t ignore especially after you how to drive this RC car without using the front wheels, all you’re using are the rear wheels and the wheelie bar. It’s so fun, you should definitely try it if you didn’t yet.

Arrma Vorteks Wheels

The Arrma Vorteks wheels are the dBoots Katar. They come with vented tires that have a high grip especially on-road.

Thanks to the rear wheelie bar, you will be able to control this Arrma Vorteks in case of full throttle, otherwise, someone would be dead!

The great thing about these vented tires is the holes that have been put on the outside surface to get rid of the water easily.

By the way, the Arrma Vorteks wheels come with 14mm hexes which are uncommon around the other Arrma RC cars, so, if you’d like to buy some new hexes for this RC car, make sure you take that into consideration.

After all, the Arrma Vorteks chassis is really great and well built, it is true that t doesn’t come with so many metal and Aluminum parts, but that hard plastic is also a great solution to avoid bending the hard parts.

Arrma Vorteks Performance

Let me tell you this, of all the Arrma RC trucks that you will try and drive, the Arrma Vorteks is the best one that you’re going to have fun with.

You can enjoy the high speed that this RC car can reach on-road as well as the high jumps and great landings off-road. Everything is fun about it.

But, how fast is the Arrma Vorteks?

From its design, you know that the Arrma Vorteks is made for speed. In fact, this RC truck can reach up to 60 mph which is almost 96 Km/h.

This speed is the result of the combination of a SPEKTRUM FIRMA BRUSHLESS 3200Kv motor, and a Spektrum FIRMA 100A SMART ESC that worked with a 3s Lipo battery, and the optional speed pinion gear that comes in the box.

The original pinion gear that comes in the vehicle won’t be able to reach that speed, but, it can reach a close number like 55mph. This is a perfect speed for an RTR RC car.

Also, the 3s Lipo battery isn’t the only option that you have, you can even include a 2s Lipo if you want to decrease the speed.

Some of you may be concerned about the downsides of this high speed like the high temperature of the motor, well, you don’t have to worry about it because this motor is equipped with a heatsink and a cooling fan.

The servo that comes with the Arrma Vorteks is the SPEKTRUM S651 metal servo, it does a great job and handles all the pressure with no problems. Still, you can always upgrade it since this RC car is easy to upgrade.

The performance of the Arrma Vorteks won’t be complete until we have some systems in place that will help you the driver, have better control and an incredible experience with your Arrma Vorteks.

Arrma Vorteks Transmitter and Receiver

There are some great systems that the Arrma Vorteks comes with. They won’t only help you control your RC car only, but also, they will help you know more about it!

The Arrma Vorteks comes with the Spektrum DX3 Radio and SR2000A AVC Receiver.

This transmitter is equipped with a lot of qualities and features that you will definitely have so much fun using.

The first feature that this Arrma Vorteks transmitter comes with is the AVC which is the Active Vehicle Control that Armma is well known by.

The AVC is s steering system that supports you while driving. Basically, it turns the wheels automatically to help you keep in the same direction.

This is so helpful in off-roading where the grip of the tires is weak and the car is hard to control.

On high speeds, this is not recommended, but, you can still use it.

We can’t forget the Spektrum Dashboard App that you can download on your smartphone and enjoy watching your RC car’s info there including the actual and top speed, the temperature as well as more features that you should definitely discover!

In addition to that, you can adjust the impact of this system on the wheels, or you can even turn it off completely which is the favorite thing to do for a lot of Arrma fans.

Alongside the AVC, the Arrma Vorteks transmitter has also other features like the brake rate as well as the limiting throttle that can limit the acceleration to 50% or 75% depending on what you want.

There is another feature in the transmitter about the battery, it gives you the ability to check the battery level of your vehicle using some light indicators.

Since the Arrma Vorteks parts are mostly built of plastic, if you’d like to upgrade, you’re more likely to upgrade with the same plastic parts which are good or the Aluminum parts which are harder.

What about changing them? Is it easy or do you need a specialist?

Actually, you don’t need any specialists, everything is easy and simple to set up. All you need is to open those screws in the bottom of the chassis. Some parts have just one screw, others have multiple.

They’re easy to take off and put back.

You can upgrade everything from the suspension arms, the shocks, spur gear, hubs as well as a lot more…

So, don’t worry about the Arrma Vorteks upgrades.

Annoying Things About the Arrma Vorteks

Actually, I can say that the Arrma Vorteks is one of the best RC trucks that I have ever reviewed on this website.

Everything we talked about up to now is great and incredibly perfect.

However, there is something I noticed when driving this RC car off-road, it’s hard to drive it.

Here is why. As mentioned earlier, the Arrma Vortekstires have a high grip on flat surfaces like the normal road, but they can’t make that grip off-road.

As a result, without the AVC system, this thing is so hard to control and you’ll have always a problem going in a straight line.

Luckily, this is already solved, all you need to do is to enable the AVC to help you control it. Then, you’ll see that driving has become better and easier.

Another small problem that you should be aware of is the wheels.

As you know, the Arrma Vortekstires are so big in comparison to the chassis, this has a bright side which is a good view and a great performance.

The bad side though is the fact that when the front wheels turn, they touch and rub the body which can impact the performance as well as the body quality. This is why those tires need some trimming.

Other than that, the Arrma Vorteks is a great RC car and you’ll enjoy playing with it.

Great Things About the Arrma Vorteks

There are a lot of great things about the Arrma Vorteks that a lot of its rivals from the other Arrma RC cars don’t have.

One of them is the high-quality transmitter and receiver which is something I find that Arrma ignores a little bit in their RC cars.

The body paintwork is also incredible.

In addition to these, the Arrma Vorteks is not specialized for high jumps because of the low ground clearance, but, you can still do dome great jumps with it in a condition not to send it so high to prevent damaging it.

Other than that, it’s a perfect RC car with a perfect body and chassis.

If you’re familiar with the rivals of the Arrma Vorteks like the Granite, the Big Rock, and the Senton, you’ll notice that the RC truck we’re reviewing today has some advantages and features that they don’t have.
