I was just sitting down minding my own business when a friend that I have not come out to tries to show me what I believe was a thirst trap but I did not want to see that so I told him that I was not interested in that so he asked if I was gay. I of course said that I’m not into either gender, prepared to explain being aroace, but here is the best part. He guessed I was aroace. I never mentioned it to him but he knew what it was. I am feeling indescribable joy. He didn’t even judge me. I am so happy.

So yeah. I do feel part of it now, and that helps me feel less alienated this month. Sadly I am part of the (large) group that still struggles with self-hatred, but we just have to keep trying to work on that, because we too deserve the joy of self-acceptance.
