5) For Rin to experiment or explore Gehenna and maybe meet Yuri's ghost (?) and for Takara Nemu to be revealed to be Armumahel's Nephilim

I talked about Rin going to Gehenna before and same for Nemu as a Nephilim.

Bonus point if Yukio is the one going to Gehenna instead of Rin, who wants to understand Satan's view, to parallel Rin going to the past instead of Yukio, who wanted to understand their origins so badly.

4) Shura, wielding Rin's sword, vs Arthur.

(Kind of similar to their fight during the first season's final, now that I think about it)

Arthur, as a Paladin "saved" by the Uzai family and as Lucifer's clone, is an unfortunate pawn to both the Uzai family and the Illuminati.

Whereas Shura, who recently escaped her family curse (so she can relate to Arthur's section 13 background), was never persuaded by Mephisto's bullshit as an exorcist, was Shiro's apprentice (the one clone who rebelled against Section 13 and the Order) and Rin's mentor.

Bonus points for a fight involving possessed!Arthur by Lucifer vs Shura entering a temporary contract with Mephisto (or one of his strong kins) to beat him (would echo nicely with the whole Lucifer vs Mephisto theme).

As for Shura using Rin's sword, it's simple : she's a Knight and yet her sword is almost out of massive attack possibilities, after she fought against the lust guy. So maybe she'll need to use a different sword, temporarily (and besides if Rin's ego is going to Gehenna, he'll need to leave his sword to someone he can trust).

3) Renzo rescued by Bon, Koneko and his brothers +/- Mamushi.

Because, between the Order and the Illuminati, Renzou will always choose the Myo Dha and, despite what he thinks, he's not Takezou's replacement to his family nor is he only a protector to Bon and Koneko.

Anyway, they all care so much about him, at some point he'll have to believe it, if they show him strongly enough.

I'm just not sure about Mamushi because, while I would love for her to be there and to confront Todo directly or through Homare, this might be a lot to make happen at the same time, narratively.

In any case, Juuzo is definitely worried about his brother (and not just about Bon & Koneko) in ch 152.

2) Amaimon + Shiemi vs the Uzai family from the Shemihaza faction

Because Amaimon is treated like a pawn by Mephisto & the Shemihaza faction, as much as Shiemi is a pawn to the Uzai family and the Order.

Also the whole Amaimon subservient to Shemihaza thing ? It's gotta go, it's too far in the past.

I say Shiemi is the Shemihaza who finally frees him, which would echo nicely with her gaining her own freedom for the first time after so many of her foremothers sacrificed their lives for the Order.

1) Yukio & Rin teaming up, similarly to the Yuri/Shiro incredible team during the Blue Night

I don't care if it's meant to be destroying Satan, the Illuminati or the Order (best choice would be all 3), but bonus points if Rin and Yukio also tell Mephisto & the Order to butt off, like Shiro did, when he took Yuri away.

In the Book of Enoch, 200 angels known as the Grigori, led before by several Leaders, the most well-known being Shemihaza, the main leader, and Azazel, rebelled against God and the rules of their fellow angels. They descended on Earth to have sexual relationships with human women, creating in the process giant and blood-thirsty half-angel beings, called the Nephilim. They also provided the human population with precious, but apparently forbidden, knowledge: war weapon, vagetal spells, course of the moon, reading of the stars, make up...

In the manga, three of the Demon Lords, the two Sol Shemihaza, emperor of Creation, Armumahel, emperor of Nothingness, and the Ba’al Azazel, king of Air, oppose the war against humankind that was driven by their own kind, and especially Lucifer, who was at that time was the most powerful ruler of Gehenna. They conceived with humans half-demon beings known as the Nephilim and provided knowledge, along with Samael, king of Time, on how to fight demons.

Kato has done a great in reappropriating that myth, and I would like to go a bit further in the comparison of the two.

Who are the Grigori ?

In the myth, there are several hundreds of them, and in the manga only three.

- Shemihaza: the main leader of the Grigori. In the manga, the three are supposed to be equals, but Shemihaza looks indeed more active than the other two - but mostly because the Nephilim of this bloodline still have powers, unlike the other two. In the myth, Shemihaza taught the enchantments and vegetal spells, which match pretty well the kind of powers we have seen being displayed, limked to plants. Kato go even even further, giving Shemihaza and their Nephilim the ability to nuture and influence life itself.

- Armumahel: this one is not usually named among the Grigori’s leaders, though I have seen the name being mentionned, without any precision. One other that could correspond to our Armumahel is Armaros, one the leaders, who taught how to cancel enchantments. In the manga, enchantments and magic comes from the demons and Armumahel and his Nephilim can nullify all of that. Here again, Kato develop even more that aspect, and the power of Armumahel is to destroy everything that is linked to the spiritual world, let it be demons or human souls. She even created the concept of the Black Flames of Gehenna, the spiritual world, as opposed to the red fire of Assiah, the physical world.

- Azazel: though not as powerful as Shemihaza, he is even more well-known as a fallen angel, for teaching mankind how the create weapon and fight, the most forbidden knowledge of all. There is no particular relationship between Azazel and the air element in the myth, except, for the angel/wing part I guess. But we can link his teaching to the idea of Azazel teaching humans how to defend themselves against demons, something that probably outraged his siblings.

In the myth, there were also lots of other Grigori angels who created Nephilim. Maybe we can assimilate them in the manga to the other demons who mated with humans and conceived Nephilim children, such as Izumo’s demon ancestors. Their descendants have also special power and knowledge that are pretty useful for the Exorcists today.

(And yes please do read that to the tune of "I shot the sheriff") Lately, a couple of very interesting guns have been introduced in Ao no Exorcist. First, we had the Armumahel gunslinger set...

And then in chapter 112 we were introduced to this fabulously named invention:

Interestingly, both weapons target only the SPIRIT, and NOT the host body.

Now, the most obvious conclusion is that Lucifer intends to use his guns against Samael, and Samael intends to use his gun against Lucifer or Satan, or both. But.

Neuhaus reveals some really interesting things about Mephisto's Kinky Gun:

...Did y'all notice that just now? Made in the last 15 years. Human identity binds to things more strongly than demons can.

Yukio is flame-resistant, including Yamantaka's & Rin's. Not only would he be able wield both the Armumahel guns and the Devil * Punisher without problem, but he could do so while withstanding a first rate devil tantrum (if we can believe Egyn, that is- but going by what we've seen of Blue Night so far, Yukio has probably always been a pretty fireproof baby).

And previously, I theorized that Mephisto never intended for Rin to fight with his body, as Rin's control over his demonic self and his satanic abilities have nothing to do with physical, but with mental strength- and that Mephisto might have intended to give the twins as host bodies to Satan & Lucifer respectively, once he could be sure that they wouldn't budge to the force that tries to overtake them.... So that the demons would effectively be locked up inside them by sheer force of will, similar to how Shiro managed to fight off possession by Satan for years. Add up to that the fact that Shiro seemed to know Satan would come for Rin, the fact that this gun has been in development since the twins were born, and the fact that Mephisto is a time-looping mastermind...

...And Rin might be getting some brotherly assistance in yeeting the Devil out of him entirely~

I suppose one could say this is a bit of a follow up to my last theory some time ago, here, though I really only want to shed light on the last few additions in which I brought up Lewin Light being detained during all this. . *vaguely gestures to everything*:

I wondered why he’d be detained at a time when The Knights were “failing to keep up”. . Consider this: He’s being removed because he knows too much.

As the wonderful @kiellessa mentioned in the comment section of my last throw away addition post, I also believe there is a third faction in this little demon civil war we’re having. . Yes, I know The Illuminati declared war on the entirety of The Order, but who did Lucifer come see directly?? Mephisto! That’s who! It’s been THEIR war this entire time, so, I pose the question: Wouldn’t humanity want to fight for themselves?

I say this solely because I am one of these human things (sometimes ;^] ) and I think I can tell you, we don’t usually give up easy. . Do you think you’d entrust you’re life with either demon faction?? Does either REALLY have humanities best interest??? The answer is 50 shades of NOPE! If you gave a single f*ck about humanity and you’d do anything to save it, SOME demons aren’t exactly the ones you’d turn to in a demonic apocalypse, right?

I was very stuck on the idea of Lewin being a double agent for the Illuminati, but as I lay on the floor of my room with my tablet over my face just skimming through the manga, I had an epiphany. Now whether or not that was before or after I dropped said tablet on my face is still unclear, but what IF Lewin knows a LOT more than he’s let on. . I know what you’re saying: SPIGGBO WE KNOW!!! But, consider this: What if Lewin was TOLD everything about Section 13 already?? But Who told him?? Drac Dragulescu! That’s who! 

Yes, I know we see Lewin walking away from Drac (Chapter 91, Page 18) and I know it’s a stretch, but what if he caved? What if he was overcome with the idea of somehow redeeming himself for all he’s done?? It “pains” him, right?

He claims he’s under a Morinath Contract, but I don’t believe a single word of that because of this statement: “...But If you think that because I was the Director of Section 13, you’re mistaken!” - right there he mentions Section 13 by name, unless I’m totally off (i’m not), Meph says one can NOT talk about it under said Morninath Contract. . Wouldn’t that include saying it’s name aloud??

I say this because the very second Tadashi Misumi (may he rest in peace, poor guy!) even uttered Section 13 he was done son; Death popped up instantly!

But I digress. . .

I might be way off, but I don’t believe what we’re seeing is a contract mark. . It looks like a collar of some kind, to me anyway. . What do you guys think of that??

THE CLIMAX! 

With all that I have said, lets theorize, shall we? (CHRIST ALMIGHTY, FINALLY!)

Why would The Order arrest a guy who would have supposedly cracked this case wide open?? Because Drac let him in on everything, including the Grigori’s involvement with the cloning as they most surely knew what Meph was up to, you can’t tell me they didn’t! Lewin is being silenced as he was already on the fence to begin with aaaand. . I still honestly believe Lewin has some way to communicate with Azazel, our very own scorned King!

I say this because of this panel specifically:

“Is that what he wanted?” - Suguro’s lovely question of whether or not Azazel even wanted his body used to the point of crystallization, I say nay nay!

Azazel is our “third man of power”, as Meph gracefully puts it. . I say, what if, Azazel was the first Demon King to turn to humanities side. . Beyond the Sol, it would appear he is wise. . He kinda sits in an odd spot though, all the elemental Kings below him and the three beasts above him (Meph a beast?? I’m sure he wouldn’t appreciate that description ;^] ). The King of Light, The King of Time and Space, and the literal essence of Gehenna. . Demon God, wielder of blue pain! . . Azazel sits in the exact middle. .

What IF he was tricked into giving it all up by The Trickster himself, Meph-dirty-cheat-phisto!

Here we go: Azazel aids the Sol in creating The Order and somehow convinced his brothers to cease their onslaught on humanity for a little while, but the peace does not last because Lucifer as well as himself and the others are “at their limit”. Mephisto produces his plan of cloning himself and the others, Azazel is told his clones look the most promising because cloning Lucifer would have become difficult and Mephisto refuses to deplete his own body further. Mephisto holds it over Azazel’s head that their oldest brother and father would really appreciate his sacrifice and humanity wouldn’t be destroyed by Lucifer if he were to obtain a new body. . Azazel agrees, though after its all said and done, he has no other choice BUT to crystallize in order to retain some watch over humanity. . Though as the years pass of him sitting in silence, he becomes resentful, the Sol stood back and agreed with Mephisto and Lucifer never got a body as Section 13 moved onto it’s Elixir research. . What was it all for then? 

Azazel crystallizing would get him out of Mephisto’s way on his path to ruling the world which works in line with the thread of theories by @kiellessa and @rottenprincessshura I’ve added Here

THE FINALE!!

Azazel’s quiet rebellion headed by Lewin as his vessel, whether that be literal or he can just speak to him somehow, is already in motion. . 

Lewin would agree that Azazel has been slighted and Azazel wouldn’t want the plans of either of his older brothers or even his father to succeed if it means humanity will cease to exist. . I say Azazel is the Demon King that loves humanity and Mephisto has just been repeating his line to make himself seem more in line with The Order’s views. . I await Lewin’s next moves with great anticipation, though I believe this is close to how it will play out. .

Sorry for the delay in response @midnight-in-town; life’s been super busy!

My current theory isn’t far from what I’d been speculating prior to these chapters, but slightly tweaked with the latest information.

Yes, while I believe she’s not necessarily Shemihaza incarnate, she is most certainly the next host. I 100% think she was raised in the alternate dimension or that the experiments continued after Section 13 was “destroyed.” Just because the Sol and Azazel chose to crystalise doesn’t mean they vowed to never come back, and with the fate of the world in the balance, they will. 

Mephisto knew this day was coming, so he would have prepared, and I’m sure he has some way to communicate with them as his true essence is the same as theirs: ephemeral. Even if he doesn't and Shemihaza is unconscious to it all, Shiemi was most assuredly conceived to counter-act Rin and Yukio’s arrivals, as I and @flower-of-assiah have stated in our own theories.

However, as I sit here thinking about it, Takara is older than the other Esquires, isn’t he? Which would mean he was conceived (as Armumahel’s newest vessel) prior to Satan impregnating Yuri. So that leads me to believe Mephisto knew Satan would eventually come after Yuri, just not exactly when and started having vessels be born (in a more secret lab or a portion unknown to Lucifer) for the Sol, as well. Ergo, Nemu Takara was a “successful” experiment prior to Shiemi, but perhaps done too rapidly.

With how Shiemi has lost memories, and Nemu is… Nemu, my theory is that she  has been possessed by Shemihaza (and Nemu, by Armumahel) this entire time - a traumatic event that blocked out all of her young memories when it happened at a young age - however, Shemihaza has remained dormant (like a seed) and has slowly awakened after Shiemi received her temptaint in the garden (something similar to the eyedrops had been given to her to make the dormancy occur along with Shemihaza being okay with staying inactive). It would explain the massive increase in power over a short time, the bodily damage, and why Amaimon is terrified.

Nemu seems to be a case of true possession, or the trauma of being possessed destroyed his mind, so another demon is acting as guardian over a dormant (sleeping) Armumahel for the time being. I’d imagine they learned a lesson from when he was possessed and found a way for it to harm Shiemi even less. Lost memories beats a thoroughly broken brain any day of the week.

Hey Anon! Interesting question, but I don't think Sensei left any hint in ch139 and 140 implying that something happened to the Shemihaza Nephilims (Shiemi and her mom), aside from Paku saying that everyone besides Shima (and Rin) is "gone".

So maybe they're also gone, or maybe they managed to survive in that weird dystopian future ? That being said, the fact that the Order turned into an even crazier organization is also a hint that some high ranked members (read: the Uzai family) probably ended up seizing total control, meaning that something possibly happened to Shiemi and her mom. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

About Malchidael though...

I don't think it's that surprising that she uses power from summoning Armumahel against Rin because...

Yukio also used a similar power when the two brothers fought against each other. Therefore, I think that either Shemihaza's or Armumahel's powers work against Satan and Rin. ...Or so I say but that poor teenager didn't last long against Rin, who is the demon king in that future. x)

TBH I don't know how seriously we're supposed to take that glimpse in the future that we saw, aside from the fact that it's pretty sad and terrifying. Whatever Malchidael is supposed to be (a new experiment by the Order surely?), Rin defeated her quite quickly, so I don't think we'll delve into it any further. I could be wrong, though!
