Day 3 - Prompt: Kiss
Words count: 3206
Pairings: Armin x Annie/ slightly Gabi x Falco
*spoliers for chapter 125
A one-shot about how Armin would finally meet Annie after over than four years, hope you enjoy it!
Armin rode his horse through towns and hills, Gabi by his side.
They rode in silence, but each oneâs thoughts were enough noise in their heads, buzzing around, slamming into their skulls, obstinate to get out, and they scarcely held them in.
Besides there really was nothing to talk about.
Armin was concerned about the girl he left behind, Mikasa, he snapped at her, hurt her for the first time ever, then departed.
She didnât say anything in return.
Harmless
âOw!â The gasped exclamation is followed by a soft ploosh as the animal and handful of seawater is dropped back into the waves. âIt stings!â
âOi,â comes a disgruntled voice from the shore. âI said those things might be poisonous.â
âWell, the ones I was holding were fine,â retorts Hange, trudging through the water to where Armin stands, gazing in dismay at his palms. âWhat did you find?â
âIt was clear, like a bubble, and it had a lot of... they were like hairs. Soft, silky hairs, brushing my skin. It felt nice at first.â His palms and wrists are beginning to prickle with rosy dots.
âClear ones sting, got it!â Hange breathes with excitement. âThink we can find some more?â More sloshing as the science-minded soldier trudges off through the water, bent at the waist and scouring the sea. Leviâs muttering something from the shore, which she studiously ignores. Arminâs fingers are starting to swell.
âThat looks bad. Canât you -- you know --â Mikasaâs now looking over Arminâs shoulder with concern.
âOh! I can probably heal, sure,â Armin replies, with a shrug. âBut I wanted to see what would happen, first. It couldnât hurt me that bad, could it? Something so friendly-looking?â
Erenâs been ignoring all of this, gazing at the horizon. Lost in his own thoughts.
Arminâs eyes lock on him, try to follow his gaze, as he continues. âI didnât think it would hurt me at all. I canât get over how harmless it looked, how fragile it felt... right up until it stung me.â

Armin Week Day 5: Founding Titan
I forgot to post the last few days for Armin week so Iâm getting them out now
Armin Week, Day 1!
Day 1: Midnight
Little Armin woke up to loud banging. For a moment, he feared there was a titan somewhere. He had had nightmares about them lately. However, then he reminded himself that it was impossible; the walls were protecting humanity. Someone must just be at the door.
âMom and dad are outâ he remembered âI should get the door.â
His grandfather was home and watching over him of course, but heâd been working all day and mustâve been really tired. If possible, Armin didnât want him to wake up in the middle of the night.
But of course, the loud banging had already woken the old man up. In truth, Armin was slightly relieved, for this was scary. Why would someone be at their door in the middle of the night?
âGrandpa, whatâs happening?â
âWeâll seeâ the old man replied, patting Armin reassuringly on the head âBut first we need to open the door.â
The man went to go do just that, and Armin was right behind him. After the door opened, the soldiers behind it stormed in without permission or changing any pleasantries.
âWhat is the meaning of this?â Arminâs grandfather asked firmly, but didnât raise his voice, knowing it would be dangerous to anger the soldiers. Armin clung to the manâs sleeve, frightened.
âMr. and Mrs. Arlert have been found guilty of the heavy crime of trying to investigate the outside worldâ the final soldier who came in last said âWe are conducting a search to see if there is any forbidden material here.â
There was, Armin knew. He knew his grandfatherâs book about the ocean was illegal⌠but maybe they wouldnât find it? Armin had taken it without a permission again and hid it at the bottom of his toybox, maybe they wouldnât look there?
âInvestigate the outside world? How?â the older Mr. Arlert asked, and Armin found himself curious as well âWhere are my son and his wife?â
âThey wonât be returningâ Armin didnât like the sound of that. What did it even mean? Had they gotten to the outside world and were unable to come back? Or were they not allowed to? Going outside was illegal unless you were a scout after allâŚ
âStay there until we complete the searchâ the soldier told them. They complied, and once he was a little further away, Armin asked: âWhy arenât mom and dad coming home anymore? Did they go to outside world?â
âLater, Armin. Laterâ his grandfather said with hushed voice. They stood there for quite a while until they heard a soldier call out: âI found something!â
A soldier came over with a book, Armin could tell it was the one about the animals of the outside world that he had sometimes snuck looks at. He knew it was an illegal book. Were him and his grandfather in trouble now?
âDid you know something like this was in the house?â the soldier in charge asked his grandfather.
âNo, I did notâ it was a lie, Armin knew, but he didnât call his grandfather out on it. The soldier stared at the old man for a while longer before leaving it at that. Apparently, he believed him.
When the soldiers finally left, they took with them a handful of books, all that Arminâs grandfather denied ever seeing, and some of his parentsâ notes. The old man headed for the office, Armin right behind him. The place was a mess, the soldiers having looked for evidence of crime and found it.
âGrandpa, are we in trouble?â Armin asked, but to his surprise, the man shook his head.
âNoâ he said âBut your parents wonât be coming home from the outside world.â
Thatâs what the soldiers had said, and Armin felt conflicted. He was glad that his parents had gotten to the outside world, the place they had always wanted to go to and talked about in hushed whispers, but he wished theyâd come back at some point to take him along.
âBut I can follow after them when I growâ Armin told himself. Maybe his grandfather could come too.
âGrandpa?â he asked as he suddenly noticed the man crying âAre you sad?â
âYes, a littleâ the man admitted. Armin frowned, but then got an idea. The book about ocean, icy plains and burning sand hadnât been in the soldierâs pile.
It was still in his toy box.
âWait just a moment, grandpa!â he said cheerfully, running to his room and soon returning with the book. With a smile, he presented it to the man âWe still have this!â
The old man looked at the book in surprise.
âHow did they miss this?â he asked, but the gears were already turning in his head âArmin, did you take this without permission?â
Armin looked down, realizing that he may be in trouble now.
ââŚYesâ he confessed âIâm sorry.â
With a sad smile, his grandfather patted his head.
âDonât beâ he said âBut Armin, this is an illegal book. No one must know we have it. Understand?â
âYesâ he said. He knew the soldiers would get mad if they knew.
âGoodâ the old man yawned âNow go put this back to where you keep it and go back to sleep. Weâll clean this up tomorrow.â
âOkay!â Armin said, happily returning to his room.
That night, he dreamed of a reunion with his parents in the outside world.
Armin Week 2020
Prompt #6: EMA
Lives intertwined by ceaseless tragedy
Torn asunder by the threat of new foes
Hands held tightly, released unwillingly
Stolen from each other as the storm grows
Once closer than otters sleeping at sea
Inseparable by all wicked force
Drifting aimlessly through currents and weeds
To undiscovered lands, maintaining course
A bookâs tattered pages, the last remains
Of a friendship so wretchedly shattered
Throughout the dreadful emotional pains
The outbursts remain hidden and scattered
He looks down and mutters, voice weak and low
âYouâre just like a certain someone I knowâ
