With how much the spn fandom has changed and shifted over the years, there are a bunch of great creators who fall out of fashion or just general fandom consciousness and get 'lost' to the noobs. You get those 'reclist' authors that get passed around forever, but people who wrote equally great (or better!) work fall by the wayside. With art it can be worse -- tumblr's biggest benefit is that random old posts can pop up out of nowhere, but people are very rarely reccing art, or doing deep dives to find stuff that used to be popular and now gets rarely seen.

That brings us to @armellin, aka Sasha. You've probably seen some of her stuff if you're a spn fan on tumblr. She's got a particularly superb Ruby piece that just knocks me down with a feather. But there are a lot of really wonderful portraits in Sasha's archive that are just waiting for you to discover if you go into her art tag. She has some classical training, I'm pretty sure, and while her work is mostly digital you can really see all that talent in her pieces. I'll copy some particular favorites here, but you can and should go to her 'my artwork' tag and see some for yourself. The things she does with light!

Oh, hell yes you were and still are! Back in the day when I’d been on an art hiatus for close to a million years, I so badly wanted to start doing fanart for Supernatural but I was so rusty and so AFRAID. But I was glued to your art and so inspired by it, that it convinced me to jump in and start making fanart. I didn’t do digital art at the time and my stuff wasn’t anything to really write home about, but whenever I got discouraged, I’d pull up some of your art or some other pieces I had saved in an art inspo folder, and I’d draw anyway. 

So, you’re largely one of the reasons I’m even here making stuff now. Which is why I try to be as supportive as I can in the art community. It made a difference for me and I want to help other people grow too.

So, maybe this is very overdue, but I’m sure I’ve told you before, THANK YOU FOR THE ART YOU MAKE AND HAVE MADE. AND THANK YOU FOR BEING HERE.
