27 - Emu4 RuiKasa

-Incest. That simple. Even without that factor, I'm still utterly baffled that Tsukasa in this set isn't Peter Pan like he was in Emu4, which y'know, is the whole theme of this card set. I'm only considering the most popular iteration of this set, and that's how I'm treating it in this ranking. Incest, next rank.

26 - Pandemodium RuiKasa

-Genuinely never understood the appeal of this au if I'm being honest. The whole yokai aesthetic doesn't impress me, and most of the time their dynamic is either completely different from original RuiKasa, or it's some sort of trope I can watch from any other anime. As for my take on them... meh. I'm sure the fantasy setting appeals to a lot of people, and has a lot of potential for rich storytelling. But again, as a RuiKasa au, it completely gives me nothing I like. Plus, every single fanart I see of Tsukasa in this au makes him look like an omega twink so yeah no I'm good.

-A shame for me cause the Pandemodium is peak.

25 - FesPup

-I think this might be a hot take but I do not fw this I'm sorry. Why is Rui a dog. Can't he just be Tsukasa's husband/boyfriend considering Tsukasa in this AU is just... normal Tsukasa with a different hair and maybe a few years older. Rui being the only half-animal being just feels like an excuse for puppyplay/fetishist content. Which btw, no shame in that, I adore puppyplay as much as the next person, but in no instance have I ever seen this au be portrayed in any setting other than 'Rui acting more animalistic and biologically preditory/possessive than fanon Rui usually does towards a normal Tsukasa'. If I wanted animal Ruikasa, I would personally just make both of them animals.

24 - Potato RuiKasa

-Why. What's the difference between this au and just normal Ruikasa. I have no problem with this au, and I assume this is like, a showman/casino kind of au, but genuinely what will I get out of this au that I can't get out of, say, normal Ruikasa, or anything more interesting from any other au with better depictions of their characters. I know that makes me sound really picky, and that's because I am. Thanks for noticing. I just find this au disposable.

-Also side note, I really don't like these outfits, especially Rui's. He just looks tacky in that suit, so yeah I'd rather choose an au where the characters look more aesthetically pleasing.

23 - Kasa4 RuiKasa

-Despite being kind of low, I do quite like the creative storytelling and dynamics you can pluck out of this au. It's like the samurai version of Kasa6 RuiKasa, except it's more linear and stuck in the confines of old ass Japan. That being said, I'm not really a fan of Rui and Tsukasa's personalities and characterization in this au personally. Maybe it's cause it's so far from the actual RuiKasa that if I wanted a samurai enemies to/and lovers story, I would just watch something else instead of completely different versions of my favorite characters. It's a whatever, do or do without au for me.

-You will hear different variations of that statement in this ranking.

22 - SorceValier RuiKasa

-Might be a hot take again? Between the 2 big RuiKasa fantasy aus (this and KuroShiro) this is the one I don't exactly vibe with, and am conflicted on. This is the quintessential example of a good and interesting au that I do not care about. On one hand, lots of opportunities to explore different core aspects of Rui and Tsukasa as characters in different ways, which the fandom does pretty well. I like how Tsukasa gets his sense of justice and/or one track minded-ness especially highlighted and challenged in this noble and heroic incarnation of him, while Rui's rebellion against the world could be an allegory for his desire to challenge the stigma of social norms in his heavily neurodivergent character, which to me, are things I look for in aus. But on the other hand, it's the way they're usually characterized that I don't really care for. I can't exactly explain why I don't find myself as in love with it as the rest of the fandom is, but I think it just boils down to not liking the theme, and them being so different from the original to the point where I could just watch something on its own without putting my favorite characters as the face of them. Basically Kasa4 RuiKasa but more flavorful.

-That being said, I do find their meme content very funny.

21 - Rui2 RuiKasa

-Usually, the story between them is very unrelated to Tsukasa and Rui themselves, with most of the appeal coming from the thematically heavy power dynamic set by the world. That may appeal to a lot of people, but to me, it's just something I'd rather find and read in a different piece of media. It's not the RuiKasa I love, even more than SorceValier, so I do not find myself liking it as an au of these two. I see the oppression and rebellion elements befitting some aspects of Rui and Tsukasa as characters, but they don't impress me that much.

-I do think it has potential of really cute skits, but again, I don't gravitate towards the characterization or dynamic this au lets depict.

20 - Kasa6 RuiKasa

-Basically you can apply the same thing I said about Kasa4 RuiKasa here. Though I will admit, this at least has more leeway in time period and identity, so long as they're edgy and hot or whatever (i don't see the vision but I get the hype).

-Will not reach out for content of it, but it ranks higher than SorceValier because their personalities aren't too confined by who they are, and can still preserve the RuiKasa personalities, despite the very different setting of anyone's choice.

-I might be the only one with this opinion, but I don't think there's enough fanart of what the context of Rui and his goofy ass holding up the car key to the POV could be. Guys there's so much meme potential for this, stop stroking it and get to memeing.

19 - QilTac/TacQilin

-I think this is the most neatest of aus, while also the most stiff. It's fun, oh don't get me wrong I love fun aus over most, and Tsukasa being a divine dragon x Rui being a war tactician has all the potential for wacky interactions and rich storytelling that I might find myself wanting to indulge in. But it's also trapped in the nature of who they are and who they're supposed to be for their time period, and I get that a lot of people are a fan of their nature in this au, but I'm not particularly a fan. Again, if I wanted a fantasy, Chinese love story between a divine being and a commander, idk I'll just read a manwha or something, RuiKasa being changed to this trope is funny sure, but they're changed too much for me to actually care about them as much as I'd want to.

-That said, I won't even hide it, their smut (tsurui) is hilarious. I find pure delight when an artist depicts Tsukasa having a 12 feet dragonhood because that's the goofy kind of thing I can get behind.

18 - MerKing RuiKasa

-Might be one of the most underwhelming and disappointing rank of this whole list. Everything in concept and execution of this au should check every one of my boxes to be a favorite au for me. I love fantasy, I love silly RuiKasa aus where silly skits and content could thrive in, and yet, this au is entirely forgettable to me. I won't deny that there's opportunity to subvert expectations with their story and dynamic, but when it's RuiKasa, I just don'r care about this au, and would rather feed off of something more funnier or unique, dare I say. I think it all just boils down to not being special or memorable enough for my tastes.

17 - Let's study hard RuiKasa

-Basically apply everything I said about MerKing here. There's more opportunity for compelling stories, but at the end of the day, I don't find myself caring about the fact that this is supposed to be Rui and Tsukasa.

16 - Rui6 RuiKasa

-Getting this out of the way- why the hell are all of their fanart together just Rui either being possessive or obsessive over the fact that Tsukasa looks like he doesn't wear any underwear. This gets lower in the ranks because all I see of this au so far are just alphaRui and twinkKasa bs that I could go my whole life without.

-With that out of the way, I think the potential of these characters being puppets/dolls of some sort is practically infinite. Dolls and puppets cqan symbolize many things that you can use to explore aspects of Rui and Tsukasa's actual characters, which I find very interesting. Plus, they can preserve their default personalities, which I personally really like. Unfortunately, other than that really cool storytelling potential, I think this au is just alright, and I can't derive actual joy or serotonin out of their existing fanart or content because they're very generic, with none of the flavor I personally adore in RuiKasa fanart. If this had a rating, it'd be like, a 6/10 cause it's just not that fun as it is interesting.

15 - Elementary RuiKasa

-I'm categorizing this as a canon divergence rather than a full on au (ik it's the same thing but shh). I don't consider this a high ranking, but do take my genuine positives as more of a 'despite all this' segment. The fanart is adorable, I love seeing these silly little goobers interact. The potential for fanart is infinite. The appeal is completely cut and dry, it's two weirdo lonely kids, and I can see the appeal behind that, it's simple. I am maternal for these creatures, though I suppose the only thing I want to note is that elementary school RuiKasa isn't complete if they're not both friends with Nene, in the same way Middle School RuiKasa isn't complete if they're not both friends with Mizuki to some capacity.

-That said it's not something I'll look out for or seek. I do not particularly care for them, despite my liking for them.

14 - Cyperpunk RuiKasa

-While it's completely possible for Rui and Tsukasa to maintain the exact same personalities and dynamics as their original counterpart, while simultaneously tell a very fascinating story about certain industries... I don't really care about them? Not as in there's no compelling merits to be found in stories like that, it's just, why does it have to be RuiKasa? The dynamic can be fun as hell, but I find myself not really that interested in a completely different setting of these characters where the things explored aren't particularly unique to me.

-Another thing, unfortunately, is that it's not that funny, compared to a similar au I'll get into. The comedy department is a bit dry in terms of wacky hijinx, from my perspective at least.

13 - WaitorSamurai RuiKasa

-I thought I would rank this higher but honestly when I really think about it, the initial humor and absurdity kind of wears off when I realize how one note the story and interactions these two could share are. Don't get me wrong, one of my favorite RuiKasa au comics are of this au, going into Tsukasa's inherent loneliness and Rui's.. uh.. samurainess I guess. But honestly, as much as you could change up their dynamic and characterization, it really boils down to something that's fun for one day, but disposable when you're done. At least, from my perspective. It leaves a charming and funny impression, but I would rather indulge in something else.

-That said, I don't actually know if this au is that well known and popular enough to add so if it isn't you can just disregard this.

12 - CyberDol

-Basically Cyberpunk if it was more interesting, more dynamic, had more opportunity for fleshing out elements of Rui and Tsukasa's character and saying even more about industry businesses. I would say that I like it much more, but I think I just personally don't like the whole cyberpunk aesthetic and themes. I don't derive as much joy or entertainment as everyone else seems to with this au, and that's alright. I'll just never seek out its content despite having a variation of this au myself. It's whatever, it's alright, interesting but completely not for me.

-Unfortunate non-fav despite being the RuiKasa number

11 - Timekeeper RuiKasa

-Admittedly, I've only read very few content of these two, so maybe my eyes haven't been fully opened to their appeal, but even so, the Timekeeper au has some of the best potential for avant garde storytelling, which no doubt has been fleshed out and executed by many amazing writers and fans alike. The use of Rui and Tsukasa in these roles don't really bore me as some other aus may, since their stories are directly intertwined to the future and past in the main universe. The one thing is that, while it's compelling on its own, I fail to get any real fun with them as a duo. And I know, that's most of the point, that they're both intertwined and doomed to never be together to whatever, but when I consume RuiKasa content, I do want to have fun as much as I want to be enamored by their story.

10 - Factory RuiKasa

-A solid au. Something about this factory setting is so fun, and has more potential for creative, artsy fanart and dynamics, not to mention how the personalities of the characters don't have to change too much just for them to work here makes for lots of comedic hijinx. Literally, tell me what's not fun about a factory that produces robots with fun little knock-off Chiikawa looking ass creatures accompanying the workers? That said though, as fun of an au that is, and as much as I like their designs here, I do find myself leaning towards a more colorful and even more silly au later on. Not a favorite, still wouldn't reach out for its content, but the whimsy is apparent, and the fanart is... uh.. hm. Anyways yeah besides the fanart, a solid au in my eyes.

9 - Idol RuiKasa

-I won't lie, this kind of goes against my arbitrary reasons on why I don't prefer previous aus. I won't deny that if I wanted an Idol love story, I could just watch any other shows or anime about that exact concept without needing RuiKasa as their face, but honestly... this au is just hilarious to me. Whether they're depicted as rival singers or duo idols with the exact same personalities of RuiKasa, I lowkey just think of this as Hirose and Shunichi hamming it up on stage. Sure I won't deliberately seek out Idol RuiKasa content, but as long as I have fun and find it amusing then yeah, it means more to me than SorceValier and TacQilin. I can't justify it ranking higher but ykw it's not half bad of an au.

8 - DanToru/DireThorp

-Holy shit I did not plan for this au to be the 8th place. It was meant to be.

-There is a lot of things going for this au. From the various directions you can take this world, to the character's charming dynamic, usually portrayed for fluff or angst. I like how it's very focused on the nature of Rui and Tsukasa's passion when it comes to their work, and a lot of the fanart is cute and very much my kind of fanart (not talking about all the alphadancho x twinktorupu fanart). But before all else... I still don't care about this au. I know, it's kind of counterproductive considering all the good things I have to say and how relatively high I have it ranked, but genuinely, I still don't have more reason to want to consume content of this au, because... well, I can still find all the fluff and charm in their dynamic in normal RuiKasa. I wouldn't dare say that it's basically the more interesting Potato RuiKasa to me since that feels a bit unfair to compare, but I can't deny the resemblance in value to me.

7 - HakaPega

-The canon divergent au I don't care about the most. ok HEAR ME OUT. While I did put elementary RuiKasa much lower, that's mostly because of how little I derive as a whole from that au. From this, I love seeing people depict Rui's grief and guilt through Pegasus and this au. It has a wealth of emotional value and themes to set it this high, because I've always found myself enjoying and weeping over this iteration of Rui's character, as well as the complicated nature of Pegasus as his own character (usually written almost like Mitsuba from tbhk) and relationship with Rui. I see so much to love, and on occasion, I would feel that love too. On occasion, as in once in a blue moon. Because... it feels a bit bad to admit, but this is the canon divergent version of what WaiterSamurai is to me. It's not as one note, since Rui and Tsukasa can break out into various levels of insanity, but at the end of the day, it doesn't mean anything to me. I can admit that it's one of, if not, the richest RuiKasa au to exist, but the concept in it of itself doesn't have as much sentimental value to me, thus I don't have any lasting fondness for it as a whole. I'm disappointed in myself smh.

-But like lets be so for real, it's this high in the list so I clearly like it.

6 - KuroShiro

-I was dreading this ranking, but now that I've gotten to it, I actually... adore this au more than I initially thought. Finally, we've gotten to the part in the rankings where I will actively seek out to draw and write/consume content of these two. I think something I adore more than anything about how this au is utilized and depicted is how much people focus on Tsukasa and Rui's inherent loneliness and kindness, which are some of my favorite elements about the original RuiKasa as their own individuals. I'm a sucker for fantasy stories, and this is the only RuiKasa one where I buy Rui and Tsukasa as the main characters, and wouldn't replace them with another piece of media of the same story. Not to mention, all the interactions and memes you can milk out of this is much more than their deaths. They have comedic potential because of how varied their personalities could get, and that's not even getting to the world building. Overall, my favorite fantasy RuiKasa au, with very little that could ever compete.

5 - NakaShira (art by 匸1 on Pixiv)

-Old man yaoi. That's the sum of it.

-Ok but in all honesty, the real reason I prefer NakaShira over so many RuiKasa aus is because of how much of a canon divergence it feels like. Obviously it's not, rarely is Nakayama characterized as being a failed actor now working your average office job, even though Shirafuji's just Rui but older and kept to himself, much like pre-development Rui in the original, but I feel like there's a fine line between 'replacing' and 'diverging from canon', and this trudges that line very seemlessly. Their dynamic in this au feels the most grounded, and appeals to me thanks to its simplicity. I love seeing Rui and Tsukasa in a slightly more jaded incarnation, and it's honestly pretty refreshing to see compared to their eccentricity, which obviously lies underneath it all. Point is, as an au, it speaks to me as its own thing because I prefer the concept over all the aus that rank below it.

4 - RingJest

-My favorite non-RuiKasa RuiKasa au and it's not even close. Honestly, even though this au has pretty limited and cut and dry potential, the sheer concept of RuiKasa just being RuiKasa, except they're fucking insane and borderline psychopathic, is enough for me to fold. I dislike toxicity, unless they're both toxic, and it seems the fandom agrees, because nothing about this world, this au, is ever conceived to be normal or sane, no matter which way you look at it. My bias is fully showing here, but honestly, I don't care about any circus themed couple that gets their rocks off of preying on smiles they calculated themselves unless they're WonderlandsxShowtime and RuiKasa. The fanart is always mesmerizing, so that's nothing to sneeze at.

3 - Alien RuiKasa

-This is not a non RuiKasa Ruikasa au to me, this is just Rui and Tsukasa as their same selves, except their aliens. I do not go to Alien RuiKasa for compelling storytelling or thematically rich depictions of Rui and Tsukasa's individual characters, no. I want colors. I want wacky hyjinx and ludicrous jokes. I want to see the silliest side of RuiKasa get cranked up to the max. I celebrated 2024's New Year by drawing these silly little goobers, because everything about this au boils down to waterfalls of serotonin, and that is how we cope.

2 - Middle school RuiKasa

-My top 2 aus are canon divergence unsurprisingly, and though I love them, I do have some issues with how the fandom depicts middleschool Rui and Tsukasa. Somehow, I rarely find content of Rui and Tsukasa actually being friends in this au in a way that I can find believable, as the most heartwarming thing about ms RuiKasa to me is the fact that their friendship is the thing that salvages their mental health and loneliness. The deconstruction of both characters, paired with them being able to connect with each other, one way or another, genuinely touches me, because they are still RuiKasa. Challenging the notation of their routines and their outlook on life, as well as themselves, fascinates me beyond compare. Whether portrayed as toxic or healing (personally I prefer healing but I see the appeal in the former), the prospect of seeing these conceivable concepts brought to life is exactly what I look for when I want an 'alternate universe'.

-Oh and about the problematic fanarts.. uhhh I'm not a fan, but in a way, putting aside the fetishists and pedophiles, I pretend that they're more nuanced than they are and move on. Will never actively seek them out of course.

1 - Worldlink 2

-Don't get me wrong, I really dislike how they handled the au and the character's reaction to the knowledge of this concept nearly becoming reality. But with that out of the way, this is the one singular au I've fixated obsessively on for the better time of months at one point, birthing so much creativity and motivation for me to make and consume my own RuiKasa content. Now, I will admit that I already had my own disbanded WxS storyline, so this being my favorite WxS au is no shock, much less my favorite RuiKasa au. The execution of this simple, yet grounded and fascinating concept is already decently handled in the game itself, but to flesh it out even more? Man, that's got me on a chokehold. I love love LOVE how Tsukasa's handled in this au, both in canon and the fandom (for the most part anyways), and exploring the inner conflict both Rui explicitly and Tsukasa implicitly goes through, I adore seeing these characters out of their element and challenged in a way that is, within universe, realistic.

50 - Toya's Yobanashi Decieve: 5

Ok I can't lie. This was Kent Ito's only miss. It's unfortunately very... 'Go girl, give us nothing' vibes, and I REALLY am sad to say that, because I KNOW what he sounds like in the future songs with similar lower keys/tones. At least his 'imi Janai' has a pleasing vibrato. But still, I can't believe I think Fumiya sounds better and less dead inside in his alt than Kent Ito my goat (ok reading back i don't think this sounds as sarcastic as it did in my head. yeah I'm not surprised Akito basically owns the SEKAI version of this song). But, it's like his second alt ever, so he's forgiven. Still, at least we know he's imrpoved SO much.

49 - An's Imperial Girl: 7

I'll be honest I don't like this song so it might've impacted its overall score. That said, Tomori sounds good nonetheless. I actually kind of find the delicate nature in her usual voice here a bit.. jarring in a way that none of the other alts are. Again, I wanna emphasize that she still sounds beautiful with that almost rich essence in her voice, but this wasn't a hard choice when deciding for this to be my least favorite An alt.

48 - An and Kohane's Butterfly on your Right Shoulder: 7,8

I will admit this is my least favorite An duet alt. But I still like it a decent amount. A very solid duet as it is a showcase of Tomomi's vocals. I love how Akina and Tomomi sounds together, and Tomomi's highnotes and background vocals are genuinely so hypnotic. I don't really have anything worth noting, Tomomi and Akina just sound like they're having an absolute blast singing this, and while it's not a favorite, it's still fun as hell to listen to. I'll have more to say about alts that I adore even more (usually).

47 - Toya's Rumor: 7,9

Definitely a slow burn, as the first half didn't really hook me all that well, but Kent Ito definitely started delivering in the pre chorus, where the fruits of his inflections over the years have really shown to stay. I will say that in general I'm not the biggest fan of his lower, almost gravelly (?) performances, and it's a bit of a shame that this is one of his more recent alts, but you know what, you win some you lose some, and I sure as hell won't call this a lost, and his background vocals definitely shine the most here.

46 - An's accelerate: 7,9

Hm, quite controversial, this might be, but... I'm not sure how to feel about the strain in An's voice in the chorus. Now, putting that aside first, this is still a beautiful performance by Tomomi, and I love the ubeat boisterous nature it allows for An to show off, and she really does sound as beautiful as she always does. My problem, is that this iteration of Tomomi's iconic bright and powerful vocals that I adore more than anything gets a bit... watered down in favor of hitting the beats she's meant to hit, and that applies to the entire song. I'm not saying that pushing vocals are bad, like I mentioned Tomomi still sounds beautiful here and I commend her for stepping out of her range. But I'd be lying if I said I wasn't just little bit uncomfortable listening to it.

45 - Toya's Shama: 8

I really like this alt, Kent Ito's voice sounds oddly pleasing when it's this unbriddled, though it is missing a certain wow factor, since compared to his usual output, this is relatively one note. But, that one note is really nice to listen to, and it's just a decent listen. Nothing life changing but I can live with that.

44 - Toya's Moonlight: 8,1

I adore the way Kent Ito goes between verses so much. The chorus displays the silk in his voice decently well, and Kent Ito definitely shines best in this song when he's harmonizing with himself, as well as the obvious charming vibratos. It's a charm overload, flawlessly executed and tied up with a final held 'Zutto'.

43 - Toya's Airhead: 8,2

I can't really think of any word to encapsulate this better than 'cute'. Every delivery of this song was so cute, even if he was still hella dynamic in his own way, overall Kent Ito in this song just sounds so adorable. It's not a favorite, but I love all his 'ooh's and his little vibratos here and there add so much to his already pretty vocals. Not much to say, it's very neat.

42 - Toya and Kohane's Junkie nighttown Orchestra: 8,3

Kent Ito sounds like a little shit here for some reason to me (/pos), and he actually sounds better with Akina here. Such a playful and satisfying performance, and the way he uses his voice is so gentle, which I think is a big factor into sounding lovely when paired with Akina. Very solid, very lovely.

41 - Toya and Kohane's Traffic Lights: 8,3

I like this duet between Kent Ito and Akina decently enough. They sound very distinct, with Akina's more relaxed and soft voice being held by Kent Ito's stone-ish delivery, especially in rap verse. It's not my personal favorite blend, but they work for what they are, and Kent Ito gives an almost harsh edge to his every line that I quite like. That 'Na' in the third chorus is absolutely iconic, and overall it's a good listen.

40 - Toya's Uninterrupted Indigo: 8,3

One of the more simpler showcases of Kent Ito's vocals, but it still holds the same grace and smoothness that he carries out through his best songs, and his high notes are nothing to dismiss either. It's just a very uplifting listen, Kent Ito delivering exactly the vibe you'd want from this sort of song. Simple and likeable.

39 - An and Akito's Echo: 8,4

Not a big fan of An and Akito's alts all that much, but ykw, Tomomi's absolutely killing it with her English, her high notes in the choruses are hypnotizing, and of course I can't leave out Fumiya's parts, which sound just as good on their own, and that bridge with both of them singing overlapping is comical (in a good way). It's just that this song doesn't have much singing, and while it's dynamic enough to showcase enough of what I love of An's voice, it's made a bit too synthy for my tastes to truly love An's vocal performance.

38 - Toya's Ame to Petora: 8,4

Kent Ito stop sounding so effortlessly graceful and beautiful challenge GO!! Dude, that transition from the verse to the chorus is gorgeous, the contrast is so subtle yet so in your face that every little inflection makes his smooth voice so pleasing to hear. Another neat alt from Toya, not much to say, I just like it.

37 - Toya and Kohane's Echo: 8,5

English Toya is so funny, in an endearing way. Both Akina and Kent Ito gives a sort of playful vibe to this song that I don't think is intentional, but it's very welcomed, because I do like their deliveries, as they're... alright as a duo. Nothing I really make time to listen to. Still, I do like this alt, and Kent Ito really does sound nice. Just neat, solid, and quite fun to listen to.

36 - An and Kohane's Rad dogs: 8,5

I love Akina and Tomomi's duet parts here so much, they sound just as gorgeous as they do captivating. I like how it's not an all out vocal showcase like you'd expect, because Tomomi's voice truly sounds like an even with Akina's, both of them absolutely going at the same wavelength. Though I have to imagine that since this is still early game they may not be completely comfortable with singing as characters yet and that's you can sort of hear it in Akina's performance, but yk what that doesn't make it bad in the slightest. Not a favorite, but their duet is nothing to sneeze at.

35 - An's Awake now: 8,6

This isn't a song that I particularly like admittedly, but oh my God I want to marry Tomomi's voice here. It's all the dominating and dare I say sensual in execution, when she sings those held lyrics/notes it feels like I'm being drawn in like a moth to a flame. You can really tell how Tomomi's found the perfect voice to sing in at this point, absolutely dynamic and satisfying in pronunciation and inflections. When she sings softer in the bridge is just as good as the rest of the song. Admittedly it doesn't pack a big punch, but I don't need her to when she sounds THIS good, elevating a song that I find very forgettable to a captivating vocal performance.

34 - An's Osmanthus: 8,6

I don't usually listen to this but maybe I should, because Tomomi's voice here is like fine wine. Literally one of the most voluptuous display of her vocals, punctuating the perfect angle of staying more grounded while keeping the brightness in her voice still present. Not much to say, I just think it's very neat.

33 - An's wave: 8,6

Thank you Tomomi for existing. The transition between the more harsher delivery of her vocals in the verse to the chorus was a bit jarring at first, but I grew to really like it, as I did with BRG. Those Lalalalas are so pretty amongst this already beautiful song, and it's one of those songs where you just gotta enjoy the privilege of being able to hear this brilliant voice show what it's capable of.

32 - An and Akito's Traffic Jam: 8,7

An's voice here makes me want to roll on the floor kicking my feet, especially the verses and that second part of the chorus. I don't exactly buy this duet between her and Fumiya though, as they don't really blend that well to me other than the 'duece' and the rap parts, which admittedly the latter slaps SO hard. Fumiya sounds great too obv, but I'm completely encapsulated by Tomori's voice, the smoothness and assertiveness in it ughhh. And of course I can't leave that satisfying held vibrato, both of them excelling at obviously. If I liked Fumiya and Tomori's voice throughout, it'd be so high up, but as is, it's still amazing.

31 - Toya's Fragile: 8,7

For being his first alt, this is a bit too good. There's an inherent airyness in his voice during this time, which I do not mind at all. Even if his background singing sounds like his throat is being scrubbed with a cheese grater, those voice cracks (or whatever you call them) when he hits those high notes in the verses are the shit to me. And those robot noises he makes before the third chorus is so charming I can't help it. Again, smooth and absolutely soothing to listen to, especially that last line, as if he swallowed velvet from the start of his Toya career. Not much to say, just is a really neat performance, Kent Ito gives.

30 - Akito and An's Egoist: 8,7

One of my first ever impressions of An's vocals that truly got me down the An/Tomomi stanning train. She just sounds so rich and almost bitter in this, contrasting so well with Akito's more irritated and deadass performance. Not a favorite in the duet department, but I will say that this really showcases An's dynamic and increadibly powerful voice.

29 - Toya's Ifuudoudou: 8,7

Wow its the funny moaning song that the fandom obsses on. I mean I guess the hype is a bit weird, but fuck if Ken Ito doesn't sound sexy as hell in some parts I mean what. Obviously it's in demand, but man, his performance is so controlled and effortlessly swag in his more gentle and almost neutral inflections, especially in the chorus where he sounds like he's giving his all despite not being in his element. I don't know, it adds to the charm of the performance, especially when that second verse comes in and he sounds like a completely different person, still as in control as ever, but his voice dropping in just the right places to be devastingly gorgeous, some may even say attractive. His background vocals sound gives himself much more depth (assuming that is him...) and overall, I get the hype. Tomomi's out of character cover of this song easily tops though, it's not even close, like it'd be 10 ranks higher than this one.

28 - An and Kohane's Night sky of Patrol: 8,8 (TSUKASA NUMBER!!!)

Another breathtaking duet from this duo, oh my god Tomomi's voice is perfect here, like it's a part of the sky fallen to Earth. It shines best as both of them sing, and I can't think of a perfect duo for those final high 'Oh's and 'Ah's. Simply beautiful.

27 - Toya and Akito's Rad Dogs: 8,9

I love the way Kent ito and Fumiya contrast each other in a way despite giving very similar deliveries. While Kent Ito performs almost agitatedly and coming off as being sort of offensive, Fumiya gives almost a careless and king shit sort of display that I really like. I absolutely love Kent Ito's rap so much oh my Lord, he sounds fucking perfect, and the way their voices blend is very satisfying as well, as if they were intertwined together. But man Kent Ito really gives the most gorgeous deliveries in their final lines. Iconic.

26 - An and Kohane's Forward: 8,9

So positive and good vibes are radiating all around. Tomomi's voice sounds so cute and pleasing next to Akina's, and it really makes their in game chemistry as partners so believable. She makes as amazing background singer for Akina too, the lower layer giving the other's voice a gentle pop in a way. I love Tomomi's voice in the second verse especially, it especially highlights the pure carefree and caring nature she oughta express.

25 - Toya's Haven: 8,9

I don't know why or how, but the evolution of Kent Ito's rapping is so palpable and absolutely captivating to listen to? This needs to be studied dude, Kent Ito actually sounds like he's performing a rap instead of just reading lines slightly melodically, and that's not even mentioning the confidence and elegance he displays in the chorus. I'm sure I don't need to explain why his high notes are stunning, and it's overall such a good song as proof for how comfortable Kent Ito has become in Toya's skin.

24 - An's YY: 8,9

Unbriddled fun and brightness in her every lyric. The way she can sound so carefree and powerful in the same time is mesmerizing and makes me want to clap with the same level of enthusiasm. And oh those intervals in the chorus when she talk sings always gets me so psyched, I can't believe someone can sound this good and this present. No comment on the backing vocals.

23 - An's PaIII Sensation: 9

Oh my God she sounds like her voice in running down a velvet conveyer belt here. Her pronunciation of Sensation is gorgeous, and that 'michi' in the second chorus hit so painlessly and thanklessly that it's intimidating honestly. Another song I don't have much to say about because it's simply an earworm.

22 - Toya and Akito's Dramaturgy: 9

Kent Ito's voice here is so subtly profound in this song, displaying gorgeous and dynamic vocals through each inflection before pulling the biggest punch in the chorus with all the effortless power crashing through at once, and ending on a beautiful low note. It may be short, but it's a beautiful journey that showcases so much of what makes Kent Ito so compelling to listen to in his own way. Oh, and Fumiya's vocals are good too of course, blending well with Kent Ito's, I was just so swept away by the latter's, whoops.

21 - An's Blazing: 9

I jam out to this so much, because I adore Tomomi's performance in this, as it shows just how comfortable and in her element she's become when singing as An, and in place of the beautiful delicate nature is a woman dripping in pure aura. The assertiveness in her voice is perfect, not to mention the stunning riffs she sings. One of the best songs to show how far An and Tomomi has gone in this singing journey.

20 - An's Just be friends: 9

Guys this is An's first ever alt how is it this amazing. I love her voice in this, it's such a good mix of her captivating lower tone and her brighter higher one, with. Her transition from the pre chorus to the chorus is gorgeous, the way she hits the higher note blends so well with her dynamic voice, sily smooth and hella pleasant. The subtle vibrato in her voice is so satisfying and just the right amount for her parts. No comment on the background vocals, but the one's towards the end with her 'just be friends' is so majestic and catchy. Such a beautiful showcase for a pretty voice.

19 - An's Alter Ego: 9,1

Always love myself some low singing An. Tomomi just sounds so comfortable singing this, it's so soothing to hear, and that second verse is pure eargasm, that 'kimi wa boku' part scratches so many parts in my brain. I don't have much to say, everything about this just fits her vocals so well, even if I do slightly prefer Toya's alt.

18 - An's Retainer supporting a God: 9,1

The more they give An these kinds of bursting, punching and boisterous songs the more will I have to live. I live for the transition between the softness and almost timid nature in her voice in the verse that is completely different from her usual delicate approaches, coming back to deliver that brilliant contrast in the chorus. Like yes Queen pop the fuck off, you're doing amazing sweetie. And omg that 'akiramen ga warui' is soul captivating I love the smooth yet dynamic inflections of her voice so much I can't. I don't mind her sounding a bit strained because it really fits the song itself, and that final line really is the perfect cherry on top.

17 - Toya's Ghost City Tokyo: 9,2

A very simple and almost calm performance, with Kent Ito's vocals giving a very beautiful and graceful edge to the lyrics that makes me want to hear him cover Yoru ni Kakeru. He just gives the song so much warmth, with the second chorus highlighting such a lovely carefree tone that I can't help but love. It sounds like a very reassuring hug in the form of a song, and that transition from to the third chorus is as beautiful as it could be, let alone the 'Turututu ahh's. Easily a song that gets better the more you listen and appreciate.

16 - Toya's Hollow: 9,2

A clean and effortless showcase of Kent Ito's vocals when he's in his element. His voice here just breathes so much life, his higher singing harmonizing with the lower background vocals, and his imitations of the other members is just so charming and fun. It's a song that you can tell someone sang with a smile, and that delights me greatly.

15 - Toya's Brain Revolution Girl: 9,2

It took a while for this to really click with me, but listening to the chorus really, REALLY hit me that Kent Ito does a strangely amazing job at using his almost sleepwalker voice and turn it into a certain emotion, one a tired mix of rebellion and unwavering determination after being so fed up, punctuated by that softer bridge that he passed with flying colors. Overall surprisingly really peak, and even if it's not my first pick, I love his approach of this song.

14 - Toya's Shanti: 9,2

Ok cunt we get it you're here to dominate. This is one of, if not the first alt where Kent Ito truly brings out the sheer power his voice can deliver without any restraints, and every lyric just has such a potent and satisfying bite to it, befitting his almost blase voice (to me anyways). This is truly the alt that him from Yobanashi Decieve wanted to be, and he's finally found that dynamic beat to his voice to carry out these straight forward and blunt sounding lyrics. The part after his rap is oddly really cute, and Kent Ito finally sounds like he's giving a powerful performance, especially in the way he delivers that 'docchi o muritenda' (if those are the lyrics...). I'll admit it's not perfect, but it's Kent Ito, and to me, that's enough.

13 - An's Brain Revolution Girl: 9,3

Must I explain why this is a favorite. Tomomi absolutely pops off in delivering a hella dynamic, enchanting and elegant performance, the delicate nature in her voice sounding even more potent in the bridge makes it so intriguing to me, carrying over to the chorus where she never truly escapes this strange box she's trapped in. It should sound underwhelming, and yet Tomomi delivers such a unique flavour to this sort of song that it's remarkably compelling. Definitely a favorite over Toya's alt, as good as it is.

12 - An and Akito's Gimme Gimme: 9,4

More English AkiAn, and oh my God they both sound so fucking cunty in here. You can just tell that this was a blast to record in the studio. Both Fumiya and An are in their element of delivering such attitude and dominance in their performance, and this is one of the better duos between them thankfully, because they both sound like they could beat someone up while walking like their shit don't stink.

11 - Toya and Akito's Tokyo Funka: 9,4

Kent Ito owned this song so hard. No shade to Fumiya, he sounds amazing in his own right, but Kent Ito is literally showstopping, and is in the most locked in state one could be in. I LOVE WHEN HE SINGS WITH THIS BREED OF DYNAMIC INFLECTIONS. IT'S MESMERIZING (obv talking about that verse before the chorus, he sounds alright in the first verse) they really did a good job giving him an alt with Akito for this. Kent Ito is just on another stratosphere as his voice just rolls off the speakers so clean and gracefuly. This song allows Kent Ito to show off so much of his vocal strengths, it's beautiful. Mighttt've been higher if it was a Toya alt and not a duet alt but ykw, they still worked wonderously as one.

10 - An and Toya's Dawn and Fireflies: 9,5

Gorgeous in every way. Kent Ito does so well in providing that gentle and pretty cushion to go with An's almost sultry yet almost profound vocal deliveries. They're literally perfect here. When they switch between backing for eachother in the chorus one after the other is actually so comforting and highlights the best aspects of each of their voices. Genuinely they make me so happy when singing together, and this light song really allows for them to show off the grace in both of their voices in completely different ways.

9 - Toya's Alter Ego: 9,5

Fuck yeah Kent Ito has his shit together in this. The way he blends his more airy inflections to the tender undertones is nothing if not captivating, showcasing how comfort he is in getting real dynamic with his falsettos and natural voice. And that chorus, oh boy, he sounds absolutely beautiful here, it's like silk in my ears vomited all at once, with a slight strain that, again, fits the song. I love how he's almost treading a single wavelength, daring to do his own thing without caring about the imbalance or fall, and it's fucking gorgeous. This is just beautiful, I love every second of this alt.

8 - An's Beat Eater: 9,6

Tomomi please sing me to sleep every night with that rich and voluptuous voice of yours every night. This song plays so much to Tomomi's dynamic inflections, and she just sounds gorgeous all around. Her backing vocals shine just as much her her main singing, and that inherit tenderness in her voice touches a part of me I can't understand, it just hits all the right boxes in being perfectly dynamic, yet bright and soft at the same time.

7 - Toya's Yoidore Shirazu: 9,6

Welcome back Cunt Ito (I'M KIDDING I'M KIDDING PLEASE DON'T CANCEL ME). I love it when Kent Ito is allowed to just give attitude with his type of voice, because it should fall flat in theory, but it never does. Instead, he sounds dynamic with every little dip he takes and oddly hypnotizing with his vibratos. Unlike another talented and amazing cast member from PJSK (cough Shunichi Toki) I never feel overwhelmed by the sheer amount or power of Kent Ito's vibratos, as they simply are so perfectly executed and befitting of the song. Absolutely gorgeous. Not to mention the adorable and even silly 'dabadabedabedowah'.

6 - Toya's Mirai: 9,6

This alt changed me man. I fucking love the way Kent Ito can shift his voice so flawlessly between verses and lyrics, with this song being a not as good, but still great, equivalent of An's Machi, hitting the same bright beats and low shifting to higher notes with each verse. Kent Ito's every lyric is delivered with perfect grace, every vibrato feeling like a gentle wave of warmth. He just sounds so comfortable and stunning here, I really can't get enough of this alt.

5 - Toya and An's Children Record: 9,6

They never miss when they're together istg. DO YOU HEAR THE WAY THEY SANG THAT 'Sou' and 'Mou' IN THE FIRST VERSE I'M TELLING YOU IT'S MAD THAT THESE TWO INDIVIDUALLY AMAZING SINGERS CAN SOUND EVEN BETTER TOGETHER. THEY HIT ALL THE RIGHT KEYS AND NOTES TOGETHER SO THAT THEY NOT ONLY STAND ON THEIR OWN, BUT BLEND TOGETHER PERFECTLY. Kent Ito showcases such gorgeous and powerful yet grounded vocals, and when paired with the potent punching powerhouse that is Tomori, you have a duo that only delivers a very dynamic, distinct and well on their own wavelength, yet equally and stellar in execution, working together to deliver and excell this phenomenal duo performance.

4 - An's Drop Pop Candy: 9,7

Every day I thank the Heavens for giving An an alt for this, because it showcases everything I adore in Tomomi's more brighter and sweeter voice. Her 'ah, woah oh oh' is so fucking adorable, and I actually love her voice in the verses most, I love the blending of delicate and dynamic in this, UGHHHH IT'S LIKE A SINGING VOICE WRAPPED IN A KISS. And that bridge when she gets subtly softer and almost fragile before transitioning to the final verse is just.. wow, no notes.

3. An and Toya's Ultra C: 9,8/10

Previously my favorite alt in the whole game from the moment I heard it, though it has unfortunately been demoted due to just leaning towards other choices. But still. God where do I even begin. Uhm. Cunts. Kent Ito and Tomomi are serviving pure cunt attitude in their performance, as if they didn't sound stellar alone, the sheer power and unbriddled control in An's riff after the 'yume o ume' makes me want to punch the air with hype, let alone the rest of the dominating, self serving, absolute God tier performance, showcasing both the carefree brightness and the assertive punch that she's known for. And oh my God don't even get me STARTED on Kent Ito, that man needs to be put on a fucking list for having a voice that deadly here. I TELL YOU THAT 'GO ALL OUT' LINE WITH THE SUBTLE VIBRATO SENDS ME TO PARADISE EVERY TIME, his voice is so profoundly rebellious and completely overturns every expectation you'd ever have when hearing him talk, because that man is unreal (ignore that you can still find it from the full ver shhhh). They work so well together and their blend, even if limited, is chefs kiss.

2 - Toya's Blender: 9,9

Istg Kent Ito sounds like an angel here I swear. Everything about his voice just screams contentment, and his background vocals especially add so much. When he sings those higher parts in the chorus it's like the rays of heaven beaming down on the screen, I swear, everything about his voice here encapsulates the grace and elegance this man holds within himself, and oh my God those vibratos, and that final 'tsuzunda' is transcend beyond belief. He's my second favorite vocalist and I STILL can't believe he sounds THIS good. It's serotonin in every line. It's the best qualities of his vocals. It's basically perfect to me, and the way even the alt ends with everyone in VBS blending together for that final 'ohhh' is gorgeous, bravo everyone go home I've never know more envy from a voice before. What else is there to say. Nagai yoru no hade ni indeed.

🌟🌟 1 - An's Machi: 12 🌟🌟

Yeah flawless I can't even sugarcoat the fondness I have for it. I stayed unbiased towards the song, knowing that I shouldn't just give it a high score because Machi is one of my favorite PJSK songs of all time and Tomomi has my favorite PJSK singing vocals of all time but when I say this is truly a masterpiece in execution, emotion and vocals, I am not kidding. Tomomi's voice convey's such an unbridled delight and brightness to the song that I don't think would be as good if anyone else sang it, she just sounds like the most stunning and happiest angel you could ever on this side of the Earth. My God the way she sings lower on the verses, slowly making her way to that absolutely heartwarming sunshine and clarity in the chorus, blending all the best parts of her voice, the delicate nature, the spark of pureness, it's just so, so wholesome. RELEASE THE FULL ALT COLOPAL YOU'RE ROBBING US OF AN SINGING THE BRIDGE BEING FULLY SUNG BY HER AND I'M CRYING BECAUSE OF IT. EmuNene: 5/10. Don't get me wrong, I do love me some lesbians, and they have a lot of chemistry that can be read as teen crushes. I love how much they hype up and hope to rely on one another, definitely special on their own. But they weren't exactly a stand out, ship wise, and that's just my subjective stance. It is funny how much Rui adores Nene's relationship with Emu. It's just a not for me thing.

EmuKasa: 6/10. They're adorable and definitely play very well off of each other. I like their dynamic and how ultimately at the end of the day Tsukasa will be willing to bend over backwards for Emu (whether or not by force), with their comedic scenes being some of my favorite in the whole game. However, I do prefer them as friends, since Emu gives a lot of Saki vibes, not to call it incest or anything, but their relationship as bffs appeal to me most (plus I like headcanoning Tsukasa and Emu as AroAce)

RuiNene: 7/10. Only not an 8 or even 9 out of 10 because I view them as siblings. I know boooooo. But seriously, they have some of the best friendship backstory and upbringing together that I can't deny is so compelling to witness unfold and watch develop. I adore how Nene is so comfortable with Rui at all times (well, goes for the others too, but with Rui there's an extra layer of safety). I fucking love Rui's dedication to Nene as a friend, and he absolutely values her as one of the most important people in his life, so really, the only thing that's really stopping me from truly shipping them is the found family trope (which is my favorite trope of all time).

EmuRui: 8/10. I know what I said about EmuNene, but oh my god Rui and Emu just have so much to adore. Not just from their stance about the whole disbanding thing, but Rui's general kinship with her whimsy-ness, and how well they compliment each other. That scene in Emu1 was absolutely inspiring, knowing that Rui was standing up to Emu's brothers for both her and his own values. The only reason it's not higher, excuse my shallowness, is because of their appearance unfortunately </3 they do not look good together at all. Generally from my bias, Rui is so ugly that he can only look good with 3 characters, and two of them are in unit.

NeneKasa: 10/10. Their development after the mainstory is admittedly a bit one noted, but nonetheless one of the most prominent because of how bad they started. Not only do they have the perfect extro husband x intro wife dynamic, but Tsukasa's constant trust in her growth is beyond beautiful to me. I love seeing Nene recieve Tsukasa's cheering, and he's just so proud of her. Though I will admit it's also cute to view under the lense of siblings, both dynamic and developement, but I think the nature of their interactions have enough leeway for me to ignore that fact.

Songs I have and never will cry to:

The world hasn't started yet: Maybe it's cause I just don't like the song in general compared to its mv but it's nothing to me.

Potato ni Natte Iku: I feel for it but it still doesn't do anything for me emotionally.

Filment Fever: The whole song makes me cry for one reason or another, but it's Tsukasa/Hirose Daisuke's passionate delivery of the bridge that really gets me.

Yuke: This whole song is a damn journey istg Tsukasa's part in the verse, Nene's 'I'm scared', and the final chanting of 'Go forth' is a direct tackle at my heartstrings.

20 - Kanade Yoisaki (Tomori Kusunoki)

Kanade fans I completely see the appeal in the voice Tomori gives her. I think it's amazing that her voice actress can hold the same delicate, breathy tone in all her singing, and it's nothing to sneeze at in the slightest. But personally, I really don't click with it. There are 2 characters iconic for their airy voices in the game, and I really only like vocals from the other one. Tomori's definitely stands out more as a support rather than a lead, befitting her voice and Kanade's character, which is why I don't vibe when listening to her sing on her own. I adore Tomori's lower tone, and it's then that her inherit breathy voice really compliments the song. I just get a bit of anxiety hearing her breath so much, as pretty as her singing is.

19 - Honami Mochizuki (Reina Ueda)

Now let me get this straight, Reina has one of the most calming and soothing talking voices in all of the cast to me, up there with Toki Shunichi as my favorite to just listen to. But I will admit, I've never truly been floored by any of her outputs in the singing department. I've tried to like it, but I think it's the way she almost always sounds restrained from giving her all in order to stay in character, in a way that I can't justify myself to liking, that really turns me off, because I know, I KNOW she has the potential for jaw dropping singing... Maybe I'm just a bit spoilt, but I really want more from her. It's a preference thing I'm a slave to (⁠ ⁠；⁠∀⁠；⁠)

18 - Ena Shinonome (Minori Suzuki)

Minori Suzuki/Ena was one of the hardest to rank for me. Because I had to seperate her emotional performance from her vocals in order to stay objective and fair with every other character, outside of the pure emotion she puts into her songs, her voice is the perfect example of good for me. Minori has some of my favorite vocal inflections of the game, and the way she can subvert your expectations with just the way she carries her voice is amazing. Her range is no less than impressive, my only real reason for putting her this low is because I... don't really like her voice as much. DON'T GET ME WRONG, IT'S VERY CHARMING, and admittedly, very similar to characters who's places are much higher on this list. But there's something about Minori's voice that I just don't find myself truly entranced like I want to be. I'm sorry Ena nation I do love her.

17 - Akito Shinonome (Fumiya Imai)

I did not mean for both Shinonomes to be back to back. And rightfully, you can basically apply everything I said about Minori Suzuki's vocals and voice to how I think about Fumiya's. Though, I do find myself more entertained by his inflections a bit more, just something about them sound so mischievous and 'deadass', fitting of Akito's character. I will say that I prefer hearing him sing in higher tones/notes, not only cause it's more pleasing to hear for me personally, but also cause he sounds like Kent Ito when he sings that way and I love Kent Ito (uhh spoiler ig).

16 - Saki Tenma (Karin Isobe)

I'm disappointed with myself by this. One of my favorites characters not even in the top 15... And I'll be honest, it's partly because of how forgettable her singing vocals are. And thats mental to me, because I always put on Leo/Need songs and Karin gives Saki one of the cutest voices in the whole game!! Yet that enhances the sad fact that I just never find her voice sticking out that much to me. In the moment, listening to her, I can appreciate how bouncy and Noguchi-like (Ichika's voice actress) her voice is, but I think it's her brand of child whimseyness in it that makes her just a bit unmemorable for me. Not saying that that statement could apply to ALL instances of her singing, for example, some of my favorite alts of hers are Time machine and Henceforth, and I think they are perfect examples of how mesmerizing her voice could be while still retaining her whimseyness, but really, I never find her sticking out to me outside of listening to the songs at the very moment. Still love her voice though.

15 - Emu Otori (Hina Kino)

Now this is divisive, not just amongst the fandom, but also myself, though I guess most of the fandom really does not like the tone and voice Hina gives Emu when singing, and like, I can't even argue with the hate/dislike. For the longest time, I really did not like hearing Emu's high pitched singing voice, as much as I adored hearing it in other settings. But guys. I'll be honest, Emu's Online Game Addicts Sprechchor alt is the shit. And don't even get me started on one of my favorite coms in the whole game, All save challenge, where her vocals absolutely soars. They are, for me personally, instances where Hina sounds so pleasing. When Hina finds that balance between high pitched Emu and bareable singing voice, it's genuinely one of the best things to listen to, because Emu's stamp of whimsiness and child-like voice is so likeable, for me personally. With all that said... Yeah I can't defend the fact that she doesn't always get Ws.

14 - Airi Momoi (Ai Furihata)

Her voice just gives the same good ol' thing Airi's whole design gives: lovely little shit. And I mean that positively, because there's something so compelling about how her voice sounds so naturally mature, especially when singing, yet there's also a hint of Yarichin Bitch Clubness in there that is entertaining to no end. Ai has what Fumiya could have ranked if I liked his voice itself more. Now, she's not too high because, well I just like other vocals better, but also it's still not the most memorable voice to me. I must stress though, her voice is lovely, and I do like it. I unfortunately find myself not being able to think of it all that much, so the two points balance each other out.

13 - Shiho Hinomori (Yuki Nakashima)

Yuki used to be my favorite vocalist in all of PJSK at one point. I've always adored voices with an alt-ish, strong and potent punch, and Yuki hit all the boxes perfectly for a while. But as I sat back to really listen to her, I realized that... she had the opposite problem that Minori Suzuki and Fumiya. I love her voice, so much I can't describe it. But the way she uses it, and her inflections, aren't all that for me. Don't get me wrong, she is a powerhouse when she needs to be, and her more softer singing iterations have generally become my more prefered way of enjoying this talented woman's vocals. But, unlike another powerhouse that's much higher, she just doesn't scratch that itch I want to get scratched. Still, I adore her alts.

12 - Mizuki Akiyama (Hinata Sato)

For someone so expressive in their speech, Hinata really knows when to flip the switch when singing as Mizuki. Which, I will have to give props for, because that is fitting for the chaotic themes and such in N25 songs. Not to say that her singing is messy or bland, oh no, I actually prefer it much more than Yuki's when I look back. I love how Hinata can be both smooth and melodic when she needs to, but also pack a punch in her vocals in other cases, edging out Minori Suzuki in that aspect. She just has the most solid vocals that I really enjoy jamming out to. Not much else to say, I like it very much.

11 - Haruka Kiritani (Yoshioka Mayu)

Might be counterproductive and a hot take to say this upfront, but I will admit that Yoshioka's singing vocals, to me, sound the most generic to me in the whole game. Which is ironic considering Haruka's whole character but she's known for her charisma more anyways. Still, that doesn't erase how soothing it is to hear her sing. I love how she sings specifically in Nostalgic, she has some of the best vocal high note instances amongst her peers, as it just sounds like she was built to hit the heavens with her high notes. I love how she can still sound 'perfect' while doing inflections, like in her Happy Halloween alt, where she's dripping in a seductive yet mischievous tone (idk the lyrics of that song so if I'm reading it way off I am sorry •́⁠ ⁠ ⁠‿⁠ ⁠,⁠•̀ ). Big fan, would go to her solo performances at any point of her life.

10 - Minori Hanasato (Yui Ogura)

Now that's an unforgettable, unmistakable and ever-likeable voice if I've ever heard one. I'm so shocked that I actually love Yui's singing voice, considering how I don't always vibe with how she sounds when talking in character. But holy, this is a perfect balance of putting up a high pitched-esque voice and make it work wonderously. I've consistently enjoyed how she pronounces her words and keeps up the alvin the chipmunk ass voice while singing, deliverying every line like actual silk threading in my ears. THIS is what I want from Hina Kino. But like her or not, Yui just sounds like the cutest little lady in every one of her songs, and it's bewildering how she doesn't sound strained or forced in the slightest.

9 - Mafuyu Asahina (Rui Tanabe)

Wow. Just. Wow. I've honestly never heard of anyone that has a voice like Rui Tanabe's, let alone a voice with so much range in emotion and personas. Rui Tanabe gives Mafuyu a voice that just feels fragile in every sense of the word. The way she can carry her voice so differently throughout a single song is absolutely flooring. One moment she'll be on the verge of spilling everything out with every fleeting word, the next she'll gut punch you with a voice telling a devastating tale of lost and helplessness, then she'll surprise you with overwhelming cries that yearn to rebel and take back what she's lost. Or, y'know, she'll just sound like a cute little squirl. I do not get this woman, her skills and emotional management is a phenomenon on their own. With all this praising, it might be a bit odd that she's only 9th place, but it's more of a case where I'm more amazed and impressed beyond belief, than actually liking. I'm not particularly fond of her voice in the way I am Yui's, or the other amazing singers ranked higher than her, but I would be remiss if she wasn't in the top 10.

8 - Kohane Hanezawa (Akina)

I'm telling you, no one does it like this girl in the whole game. Akina is one of the most perfect casting choices in this whole game, because of how easy it is to underestimate her soft, gentle voice when put up against the sometimes harsh, always dynamic genre of 'Street music'. It amazes me that she can single handedly carry so many of their songs, her performance in CR詠ZY needs to be studied because holy, she needs to be stopped. It fits Kohane's character so perfectly, for this 'unfitting' spectacle to outdo every expectations possible while still sounding like herself. Plus, I generally really love her voice, it reminds me of Machico (Nene's voice actress) a lot, and she stands on her own so powerfully.

7 - Tsukasa Tenma (Hirose Daisuke)

Sigh.. not at 8th or 1st place... Well, that doesn't disregard the fact that Hirose has some of the most earth shattering range known to man. He conveys the passionate showman elements of his character flawlessly, and better yet, destroys the competition when putting him in nihlistic settings. And his voice, oh every iteration of his voice, is pure wonder and warmth. I know I said I'd put my biases aside (and I did, otherwise he'd be 6 ranks higher) but he makes me feel so safe and comforted, and I have to credit the merits of Hirose's evolution of these rich and larger than life performances. Plus, he sounds like Kent Ito (Toya's voice actor) a lot of the time so props to that. I have to be fair and admit that his voice doesn't always land for me, particularly I think his Boken no (idr the whole song name) duet with Emu sounds kind of... very annoying and obnoxious, but his highs are some of the highest in the game.

6 - Ichika Hoshino (Ruriko Noguchi)

There's something so particular, yet peculiar, about the breed of Ruriko's vocals that I can't put my finger on. To put as simply as my mind can, Ichika's voice sounds like a diamond. She has the most powerful, alluring and unique singing voices I've ever heard, one that you'd never expect just by hearing her speak. Her voice invented the definition of clean, as the way the words leave her lips is like she's casting a spell of purity. It's almost uncanny how good, how aura-filled, how incredible Ruriko sings. I genuinely can't point out why, but I know for a fact that she was chosen as the postergirl for a good damn reason.

5 - Shizuku Hinomori (Rina Honnizumi)

Rina gives Shizuku the exact voice that Shizuku sounds like: perfection. Hearing Rina sing without Shizuku's iconic airyness was a shocker, but not even counting that, Rina's vocals are everything Tomori's aren't for me, despite being so similar. Like Ai and Yoshioka, Rina's voice drips in maturity, even more than the other two, but beyond that is an air of unmatched elegance and control that leaves you breathless (ironically). The fact that she not only never makes me feel anxious with her breathy singing, but also enhances the performance because of how well she can alter and control it, makes me so weak. Genuinely, no shade to Tomori, but since Shizuku is everything one could ask for in an idol, the fact that this gentle and almost sophisticated sounding woman can convey her character with what should be a small, timid form of voice on paper, is astonishing to me. We stan Shizuku in this house gays.

4 - Rui Kamishiro (Shunichi Toki)

Unsurprisingly, Shunichi's vocals are of another stratosphere. There's no real defining way to even describe it. From the eargasming smoothness, the way he sounds so naturally expressive without needing to actually make big inflections, and the mere gentleness ever present, conveying so much of Rui's character. And his vibratos, good Lord. See how I've never mentioned vibratos even though we're this high in the list? That's because no one else can even compare in the same ballpark to the sheer skills in Shunichi's. To me, he's basically on the same peakness level of Rina, if Rina had more outstanding vibratos. Ok I'll admit, even though he's this high, I'm not always a fan of his high notes, which is why I'm of the opinion that his CPDB alt is a bit hard to listen to, but that's absolutely no shade to the majesty and mastery in Shunichi's vocals.

3 - Nene Kusanagi (Machico)

I adore Machico's singing beyond words. Not just her voice, which in itself is so perfectly soothing and enchanting with just the right pitch for my liking, being able to be distinctively powerful and tender at the same time, but also her inflections and pronunciations. Oh My Lord the way she uses her voice, how she always sounds like she's so present and showstopping, yet just feels so grounded and safe, is so captivating to me. She carries so much of WonderlandsxShowtime commissioned songs for me, even the aforementioned All Save Challenge where she absolutely ruled the stage in her solo and duet lines. Machico has always had a special voice to me, more than anyone in PJSK since the beginning, and I will continue to adore her.

2 - Toya Aoyagi (Kent Ito)

-The fact that the top 2 are of my least favorite group, and also my being a Toya hater (/nsrs) is really ironic. Because Kent Ito is just. Perfect. I adore everything about his singing. I'll be the first to admit that his voice is a bit generic in the world of music, but that has never stopped me from falling in love with how calming and grounded, yet infinitely powerful and robust his vocal performances are. They're so, damn, SATISFYING I DON'T GET IT HOW CAN SOMEONE SOUND THIS GOOD. His inflections are funny yet captivating. His vibratos are charming. His voice is an earworm. Must I explain how much I love his vocals more? It's a flawless to me.

🌟1 - An Shiraishi (Tomomi Jiena Sumi)🌟

So. My favorite alt of all time in PJSK is of An and Toya's Ultra C. Yeah I don't even know where to begin with my obsession with Tomomi Jiena Sumi's vocals. She has by far non my favorite inflections, not only in PJSK, but amongst most artists in general. It's dynamic beyond words, telling of bold, assertive dominance in every field with unbridled freedom. When Tomomi Jiena Sumi sings, it's like a siron's song. She's kind of like the Hyuna/6FU of PJSK, just a powerhouse of vocals in any field you ask of, whether bold or bittersweet. Machi is one of my favorite coms in the game, and Tomomi Jiena Sumi's bright vocals are a huge factor to that. Even without inflections, her voice is so pleasing on their own, ironically sounding pretty similar to Minori Suzuki's, but with just the flair that my brain needs to feed off of. Always loved An, and always will love Tomomi's vocals.

Also I heard what happened with her and the song directors, and I personally don't by with what occured. I'm of the opinion that she should be let singing in her the range she's comfortable with, especially if she explicitly asked for it. Anyways, peak vocals.
