What type of art do you do that's only for you??? 🦋 Today's #ProjectTime involved finishing off the cording for my first (and likely last) mask. Sewing takes up A LOT of my spoons, do it's not something I do terribly often. 🦋 The amount of attention and energy I need for it taxes my energy to the max and then I'm useless for the remainder of the day. Joining @teaandbrie for the #Saturdaynightcraftalong with something a little different...sewing, including some hand sewing, & mixed media work! 🦋 I thought I would improve upon a tarot bag I made in high school. To be honest the design was all wrong and not something I put a bunch of logistical thought into. 🦋 Upon taking it apart I saw that the fabric edges were frayed AF...so it was time to start from scratch. Luckily I have more experience now so working it out was a bit easier. First measuring, taking apart the previous bag, ironing, then serging the edges. 🦋 I wanted a bit of a decorative touch so I'm hand stitching two tatted flowers before finishing the top & seaming the bag. Hot colors are happy colors...yay or nay??? 🦋 Fo' real fo' real makin' some magic happen over on my #Patreon this evening (link in bio). As you can see I did a test run and it worked...albeit a bit too bulky for my intended use...so back at it again with thinner materials. 🦋 Normally I'm not into bright colors, especially hot colors. They're just not my jam to wear or decorate with. But seeing as this pattern is called Marigold it felt wrong to use any other colors. Which flower is your favorite? 🦋 Filling my morning with flowers that won't induce my allergies to flare. I've been using this pattern from New Tatting by Tomoko Morimoto for practice. What I'll do with all these flowers I'm not sure. 🦋 I like them because they're quick & easy, as well as looking good in both one & two colors.
