Deadlines: friend or foe? 🦋 Another day, another couple of rows. It's slow going but still steady progress. This is something I trust will be cherished by the recipient for years to come. 🦋 Like most gifts it'll be received when it's received as I never aim to give things on a specific time table. I joined a sock group in FB...which might have been a mistake (or maybe not) because I keep seeing so many awesome socks. 🦋 It also reminds me of the sock yarn I have waiting to be turned into socks. Just two more rows and I'll have completed this pattern repeat. These last two rows are going to take me to task though as I have to rewrite parts of the stitch pattern so the math is right and the flowers are properly centered. 🦋 Things I didn't consider when deciding that this must be a cardigan and that Ii wanted it tailored...le sigh. Hawk over there side eye, judging me...wanting to know why I'm just looking at my knitting instead of actually knitting... 🦋 For real though...I'm down to the last 2 rows of the pattern repeat which means it's almost picture time again. It will also put the kibosh on working on this more after that is done...because daylight. 🦋 Real talk though...my focus is fuzzy in the evening. After the wee bit is off my brain seems to slip into disassociation more easily too. What's your favorite way to make notations on your creative works? 🦋 I finally tinked back to where I made my mistake the other day so now I'm ready to try the decorative stitch row again. Don't ya hate it when things seem to take forever?! 🦋 I got a bit of work done on this earlier today in my outing. Given the amount of stitches I had to go through it was sadly only two rows. 🦋 The bright side is that I'm two rows closer to the next phase than I was when when I started. Do your ideas seem to grow like untamed weeds in weird ways? 🦋 As the design grows so do the additional parts I find myself in need of to create. What started out as 4 stitch markers has become 12. Not that they will be necessary for future construction (some not all) but in placing & counting very much so. 🦋 I find it just easier to expect this and write down the amendments as I go versus trying to predict them all... something that would surely drive me to madness (further than I already exist that is 🤪.) 🦋 This also means that there is no need of remembering after the fact, which I find to be difficult as well.
