Arado Ar 196A-3's on beaching dollies, location and date unknown

First flight of the Arado Ar 196 V3 prototype (D-ILRE), 1 June 1937. This was arguably the best shipboard seaplane of the war and after replacing the Heinkel He 114 and He 60, it became the standard observation floatplane of the Kriegsmarine (German Navy) throughout WWII, and was the only German floatplane to serve throughout the conflict
