Same. But there’s an oddly large queer community in our school so there are people who’ll understand. Also, for an all girl catholic school there’s a lot of gay.But yeah, there’ll always be a sort of jealousy from the minority towards the majority .For one reason, they’re (for the most part) assured that society accepts them, they don’t go through the same stigmatizing that the queer community receives. But that’s not to say that all straight people don’t feel the wrenching of questioning their sexuality, there are quite a lot of straight people who have at one time or another in their life questioned. They also do receive their own fair share of stereotypes and aren’t exempt from pain or suffering whoever they are so there’s also that to remember I guess. So uhm back to topic. It’s still pretty good that there’s a growing majority of people who though straight still support the lgbt+ community. Though there are also times I find it annoying when very very straight people are like “oh ik the feel… i’ve been through___. I have the same pain as you”. The sentiment is very much appreciated and allies are much much needed, however, not all pain’s the same. To quote a spoken word(which I know is about discrimination of African-Americans and Women but I think it can still speak of any type of discrimination/pain),“ It is not a problem that you want to sympathize but to tell me you know my pain, is to stab yourself in the leg because you saw me get shot. We have two different wounds, and looking at yours does nothing to heal mine.” So yeah, they don’t super know what it feels like to be gay but still appreciate that they are trying ‘cause it still takes courage to at least attempt to understand others.
