Why am I always sorry for things I can't control?
Why am I always there for those who would never do the same for me? If you called me at 3 am, I'd get up and be with you; but you, you'd say just go back to bed.
Why do I care when I know I shouldn't?
Why am I that person? You know, the one who isn't a douchebag. The one who will listen to all your problems without saying a word to interrupt you. Ugh. I just feel like I should get more appreciation Instead, I'm walked all over like a piece of dried gum stuck to a high school courtyard.
"What should we talk about?"
Well, why not be quiet for a few seconds, maybe even minutes. I'm not saying that I don't like your voice; no, I'm in love with its melody. Sometimes in our lives, the only thing we do hear is noise; the cars' engines running, the clock's ticking, the people talking, and office phones ringing. We're all used to the noise and sometimes we get so accustomed by it that when it's quiet, we get scared. We start to think, "what's wrong?, Did I say something wrong?, what is he thinking?" and then we panic.
But you see, that the beauty of silence. It lets us see the world and it makes us think. It makes us wonder and it makes us work. Sometimes in this chaotic world, where I was fortunate enough to meet you, all we really need is a moment of silence. Not to have a break out of this monotonousness of noise, but to look around and appreciate the things we have; to appreciate that I have you.
The woman I end up has to be ok with the fact that am I going to own an Irish Wolfhound. Those things are so majestically awesome and I must have one!
Sharpen your talent by embracing other's people's work.

I Want to Thank the You's
As of late I've found my self swelling with a sense of appreciation. The more adventures and opportunities I am graced with, the more I realize how rare they really are. With that said I wanted to share an open letter I've written to the You's.
It's cold in New York City, the type of bitter cold that clings to any heat like a parasite, sucking the life out of it. Regardless of how cold it may get I know individuals who's warmth will bring me back to life. Strong in number and stature but even greater in virtue. It makes no difference how you reference this clan, brotherhood, family, it does not change the fact that they are forever a part of me.
Years ago I was adopted into the You's. They have helped mold me into who I am. Bit by bit they chip away at the lifeless, unnecessary sediment which hides my core. They inspire me, a muse for both my physical, mental and creative states. They lift me up when I fall from the pedestal I have placed myself on. A constant safety net built from the human spirit and the concept that we are all a part of this world together. Each of the members of this community has taught me much and has fulfilled a role in bringing us to where we are today.
You, the fathers, strong and ever so proud of his young. He stands ever vigilant watching over his children. He supplies those around him with as much as he can, a hard worker with the world on his shoulders. Some of the You's are on in years, yet still maintain their essence, their youthful spirit.
You, the mothers, self sacrificing, tending to the needs of others and not your own. She leads by example, wearing as many hats as are necessary. Always available for advice or a kind word. A thankless job many times but one that is as fulfilling as the meals that she prepares.
The Brothers and Sisters You, Our job is to learn and to grow. We grow together, apart, old, wide, wise. We teach each other about ourselves and about those around us, about how the world works and sometimes we teach each other to experience an augmented view of the world. Our encounters are brief but the impact on each other is great. A year, A month, A weekend, a day together, one can never know what a difference You's can make on an individual. We share a laugh, a dance, a moment regardless of how fleeting once that connection is made, that bond formed it can never be broken. Those memories, concepts and ideal's can never be stolen away for us.
The You's have helped me become the man I am today. I stand tall honored to be considered a member of this community. So if for any reason my time has come and these are my final words, know that I love the You's, and I will be a part of this community for all of eternity. Thank you.
