The Artemis mission went really well and part of me likes to think that, some of the reason it did, was because they had quite a group of chaperones ensuring their safety all the way there and back

Finally checked out the Apollo 1 book in the Apollo Photo Archive series, put together by J. L. Pickering, John Bisney, and Ed Hengeveld. Here are some of my favorite photos of the crew from the collection
Doesn’t matter that I know it’s coming, and no matter how many times I’ve been through it—reaching January 27th knocks the air out of my lungs. Especially with a collection like this, full of new and wonderful photos, I find myself frantically turning the pages after that evening, desperate for Gus and Ed and Roger to reappear. Those beautiful smiles gone forever.

As sad as today is, I am grateful for our little space community on here. It's like we're all sitting around in a little circle passing around pictures and sharing stories
I wish we could tell them, show Gus, Ed, and Roger, that even nearly 6 decades later, the younger generations still care about them, still remember their sacrifice, still honor them, still talk about them–That We Still Miss Them
