APH Estonia Week: Feb 25 - Mar 02
I'm a tad late in putting up this notice, but we're back for another year! This will be a special one as it's the 10th anniversary of this fun event! I originally had planned this to run from the 19th to the 24th, but due to work-related reasons, I had to move it to the following week. I hope this new date will still work for many of you.
For those unfamiliar with or new to the fandom, this is a fanwork event promoting this lovable character. Prompt lists will be posted daily but using them is completely optional. You’re free to make whatever you like throughout the week and they’re merely suggestions to help get the ideas flowing! All creative mediums are welcome!
To keep things organized, all fanworks are to be tagged as apheeweek. Updates and prompts will be posted here so be sure to follow this blog if you want to participate. If you have any questions, don’t be shy to leave an ask. Feel free to share this with your friends and I hope you’ll join in on the fun!
Aph Estonia week day 2!
Winter with Norway :)
What if... Snowplow race between nordics but it's also an steampunk AU?
I bet it was Finland's idea
Hetalia - Yesterday (Nyo!DenEst)
A very belated submission for APH Estonia Week. Prompts used were Yesterday and Beach.
This fic was only supposed to be a brief 500-word ficlet. It turned into a 1.4K fic of Nyo!Denmark being a hopeless romantic. I've missed writing them so I hope you enjoy reading this as much as I had fun writing it. <3

Summary: It was the final day of their brief holiday in Hiiumaa. Even though Estonia assures her that they will be back again soon, it's not enough. Denmark was tired of going home alone.
----
The smell of coffee and waffles lured Denmark from the bedroom and into the kitchen.
Just some peace and quite

Sunset rendezvous
APH Estonia Week Day 1: Family, The story is somehow mythical I guess…
In the first week of July, at this hour, the sun was still burning and the sea surface seemed to have been burned all day long. In this country so high up in the North, there were long days in the summer. The sun barely slept. As the fiery ball of fire slowly moved toward the other side of the planet, all of the nature instantly calmed down in a lulling and soothing way. I stood to watch the calm sea when the sunset was still intact and fresh. The horizon - the place where the sky touched the sea had turned slightly orange-pink; But at the top, the sky was still blue. Honey-colored sunlight crept through the fluffy clouds, rimming them with a golden shimmer. A small house on the shore of white sand, under endless casuarina trees. Under the sunset light, the water surface shined as clear as the endless series of colors.
I loved the sea. Of course, I loved everything about this country - the forest, the sea, the land, and the animals. But maybe I still had a little favor for the sea. That love I inherited from my Ema who had devoted her whole life to the sea passionately and earnestly. She connected her life with the sea, she sent and had received countless love from the deep blue ocean. Perhaps all generations of people in this land who were born near the sea, nourished their souls by the whisper of the wind or the waves and grew up with priceless gifts from the ocean, all hold in their heart such a love. Being with the sea meant knowing how to accept and even knowing how to love all of the sea's states, whether it was angry rage or tender and loving beauty, whether expected or not. But maybe the sunset on the sea was admired the most because it brought with it the magnificence that could almost make you want to cry.
The sunset was spreading its color: the orange was slowly fading into a deep blue, and the sun had turned a honey-yellow, delicious as if a food had been cooked to perfection. I walked as I bathed in the dancing lights at the end of the day, and the salty sea breeze caresses my skin. The veranda behind the house was wide, wide enough that I could embrace the sea and sunset scene from every corner. Ema also loved sunsets. She built a small wooden swing with her own hands, just big enough for two people to sit on. Ema was probably very proud of her dexterity, every rare leisure time she would sit on the chair with a very proud and happy expression. At those times, my Ema often waved me to sit on her lap. Ema always told me, this country and its sea, its forest, soil and animals belong to me and the people so I had to love and protect it. Ema also told me, we had to be very lucky to have such a perfect place to watch the sunset every afternoon. We had this beautiful land. I smiled, buried my head in my Ema's chest, listened to her breath and felt her warmth which was softer than the sun that we always waited for after the long northern winters. Ema and I just sat like that, felt the gentle quiet, looked at the immense sea and watched until the sky gradually changed color to the mysterious black night.
When I walked to the porch, I saw the figure of my Ema sitting with her back on the chair. An expression of happiness and peace still spread across her face, on the slightly upturned corners of her lips and her relaxed eyebrows. I smiled unconsciously but felt the bridge of my nose quiver a little. Maybe Ema was tired. There were many things to take care of when you were one of the protectors of a land. But I knew she loved this land and was willing to do anything she could for it. Her hands were gently interlaced, placed on her stomach. Her soft golden hairs fluttered in the sea breeze, illuminating the sunset like small rays of sunlight. She was immersed in the color of the sunset, looking even gentler and more beautiful than the splendid sky. Her head was tilted slightly to one side, her eyes were closed gently and her breathing was even as if she had fallen asleep. Those breaths mixed with the sound of the waves into a strange sense of peace, the sounds resonated with each other and then spread into a large, soothing area.
I went into the house, brought out the softest pillow and the softest blanket for my Ema. I tiptoed slightly, gently put the pillow on her back, and then covered her with a blanket that had the color of the blue sky. As if my Ema had dreamed of something very beautiful, she smiled happily. The sunset was already red and the sea was getting darker. The curtain of the dark night fell faster and faster, the light almost disappeared. The waves also stopped beating fiercely on the sandy shore and gently swayed like a good child. All sounds seemed to sink, softly as if they were afraid to wake my Ema.
...It wasn't until I turned back into the house that the sunset said its final goodbyes to the sea. I also said goodbye to my Ema. She returned to the sea after a series of warm kisses and hugs she gave to me. The sky turned a deep purple, and the crimson fireball had disappeared, leaving only an orange-red mark in the clouds like a tender kiss, with a tender promise that tomorrow, we would meet again.
.
Those days are long gone. But I believe that what I and my country can achieve in the days ahead will not be a misfortune of an unsettling beginning or a tragic ending.
No matter day or night, far or near, even if there are times when the sky is covered by murky clouds or when the ground is dark and cold because of the lack of sunlight, the sun will surely come back. After sunset comes dawn and so life will go on. Nature also works hard and diligently like the fishermen. No matter how hard their situation is, the ships still follow each other, day after day, meeting and then saying goodbye to the sea. Ema will still love the sunset even though there are not many opportunities to see it fully, and I will still love her, even though there are sad days that are not shared. Because the love we have and send to each other is so great, the bond is still tight but gentle, extending through the years and generations. Because we are always aware that love is still there, no matter we meet in front of our eyes or thousands of miles apart, it will not fade away.
And the sun will shine on the land of free Estonia.

Ema = Mother in Estonian
My imagination is Estonia has a mother who is the protector of the country/land along with other mythological figures. The fic is set during the time when Estonia was occupied by the Soviet Union, and Ed thinks about the past, about his love for his mother and country and his determination to protect them forever despite the dark circumstance, even if there seems to be no glimmer of hope. I also refer to other historical periods, not just the Soviet occupation. Because of historical upheavals, Estonia rarely saw his mother and both he and she suffered a lot, but he didn’t give up.
I never made it to any aph Estonia week in time. But this year, I'm glad I finished this fic, still a day late but anyways, yayyy ^^
