this isn't a hc even but i like the comic where he's all flustered about being softer around the waist... let nor have some weight on his bones he needs it to hibernate!! i think he's also a bit inhuman-looking. like a bit TOO flawless in his attractiveness... the cullens in twilight

9. favourite time period for him

i love the era stretching from the end of the kalmar union to his divorce with denmark! there's so much good familial drama and romance with it...

remember when i made these LOOONG posts using the manga to showcase how the fandom neglects to show his whimsical and eccentric side... how he's not emotionless... i won't rant about this Again haha but !!! that's the number one issue i have with fanon

📚 one hc about this character i'd make canon

this is SO HARD there are a lot of good ones... but for bul it could be how i hc him as very superstitious/spiritual? bulgarians looove going to their astrologer... and i think that would be fun for robul content since ro is involved in that stuff! i'd also love if he was friends (used to be frenemies) with hungary because that's a big hc of mine

for serbia, i think he has like. 7 dogs. he looks at stray dogs with a sadness in his eyes and says you and i are not so different after all bud... (then smokes his cigarette). he also insists that he hates cats but has raised several litters of kittens

i can't remember how i came to this, but i remember thinking slovakia would be a good stand-in for bul in communist times, when ro wanted to take someone to bed. both are kind of Default Man. a little rude. slavs. tall with green eyes... the romania/bulgaria/slovakia threesome is sonething i would be down for. also bulgaria/lithuania would be disastrous but fun!

he is a rude smug bastard and a sad wet cat with unstable tendencies and a once-great warrior with delusions of grandieur!!! he is not just ro's boring bf. i mean he IS that too but he's boring and Weird at the same time. robul are weird4weird <3

ro/serbia!!! irl romanians and serbians like each other a lot, and their historical relations are surprisingly... good even?? they've generally Not fucked each other over which is so rare for the balkans. they'd also have been around each other a lot because of a) both being so close to bul, b) ottoman times. i think serbia is a bit terrified of ro's "satanic vlach magic" and ro finds that cute :) they commit minor crimes and mischief together all the time

in greek we often describe skintone as "wheat-toned" or "wheat-like" and i like to give ro that look! think like an olive undertone, but a cool yellow. which can sometimes make him look warm and sunny, while other times it can make him look like he's at death's door

he also has long long long limbs! he's 90% leg and arm. and he's very sharp and pointy everywhere in both his body and face

tldr: i kind of see him as a scarecrow

i do think it's different with ivan! he's like. kind of obedient for once in his life. and he doesn't feel much shame over it, because he idolises the hell out of ivan, so if ivan asked him to do it then it must be fine. an honour, even

but that doesn't mean he won't bottom for others! he just has to be forced into it with violence or threats 💞 he likes it A Lot but he would rather die than admit it
