How do you give a voice to cancers that people are afraid to talk about? Rock 'n' Roll. N.E.D. is a six-member band of gynecologic oncologists working to bring more awareness to gynecologic cancers, and hope and support to survivors through music.

"Hope is a central theme of our songs, which are written to empower women and their loved ones, and motivate them to dance, smile and, most of all, break that paralyzing wall of silence," says Dr. John Boggess.

Can celebrities help tackle some of the world's biggest problems, including poverty, gender-based violence and inequality? Nicholas Kristof believes these issues do not get enough attention. “If celebrities can bring some of their spotlight and shed it on kids in need, that can be very powerful," he says.

One of those celebrities is Eva Longoria, who traveled with Kristof and Sheryl WuDunn to Colombia to investigate Fundación Juan Felipe Gómez Escobar's strategies in combatting teen pregnancy.
