REVIEW : After Dark by The_Literary_Assassin
I finished this one this morning ! I have a lot to talk about, so gird your loins.
Characters : I was very destabilised by how the author portrayed Miranda. She was, imo, too at ease too early. BUT when I got to the end, I realised she was kind of like Carol Aird from Carol/The Price of Salt, because she has this kindness and this steady way of talking that's really similar to Carol's imo. I think she needed to be less open minded in the beginning though. Andrea : same ! She curses so easily right from the start, which is a bit uncomfortable to me because, yes, they're restarting on good terms, but she shouldn't be that comfortable from the few first chapters. BUT at the end, they're both so cute, I forgive the author.
Plot : good. Minimal angst, sometimes I was a bit bored but ig it is because it is a VERY slow burn. It's good to test something new though, I eventually found myself liking it. I really loved how every chapter ended, truly adoooraaable. So prepared because it's very slow, but cute, and we even got a bit of sensuality (not gonna tell when, just remember it's a slow burn lol).
Overall : if you're craving a slow burn, this is your call (46 chapters). If you want some spice, maybe try something else lol ! I really liked it, I want to explore the slow burn fics more.
