I was just scrolling saw you had reblogged that post hating on destiel.. went to unfollow when I saw you said you had a lot of ships.. I'm confused are you agreeing with the comments or just reblogging? I am not meaning to sound aggressive (promise) just confused xx
I dont hate destiel, I just dislike how some people treat the actors about it.
It clearly makes them uncomfortable, Jensen has stated over and over again he doesn't like the attention destiel gives him, and he's refused to talk about it because of how he feels about it. I just have always believed Destiel and "ships" in general should remain with the fandom and not be forced onto the actors the way Destiel has been.
I'm all for the fanfiction, it's definitely some of the greatest fanfiction i've ever read and probably will ever read, and I love it on tumblr and in theory, I just dislike it when people make the actors uncomfortable by over-stepping the fan-actor boundary with it. That's the only thing I agree with on that post, not the hate on destiel. People should ship whatever they want to ship. Just be respectful.
Do you disagree? Do you think fans should force the actors into discussing it, even though it clearly makes them uncomfortable? I guess some people don't see it, given how Misha constantly makes jokes about it. But that's just it, they're always jokes. He doesn't take it seriously, and Jensen treats it differently. I don't like the way fandom treats the actors when it comes to ships some of the time, and Destiel seems to attract the most hatred purely for the way some fans have forced it on the actors when it is unwanted and unnecessary. I've seen people shouting at the actors, calling them homophobic, because they didn't want to answer questions about them wanting to fuck one of their best friends. And quite honestly, thats why I try and stay away from all of the drama. I don't think it's fair on the actors who are just doing their job, and are just following the scripts.
I'm going to post this because I honestly want to hear other peoples point of view. I love Destiel in fanfiction, and yeah it would be awesome to have some more gay representation in Supernatural, and Destiel could be a way to have that happen, but I definitely disagree with how some of the fans try and impose that on the cast, that's all I meant by reblogging that post.
