A lovely person asked: I’m ----, 18 y/o, I have anxiety and bipolar disorder type 2 and I’m with my girlfriend for 5 months now. I never feel like I’m good enough for her. I make myself feel like that, she always tells me she loves me and tries her best. I wish she could be with someone who doesn’t get panic attacks at night and just let her sleep or get mood swings and be pissed for no reason. I wish she could be with someone emotionally stable, who has her shit together. I never really feel loved but I don’t wanna annoy her. I know she loves me, she wouldn't be here yet still. Oh man, I'm really sorry. And I'm also really sorry I've taken so long to get back to you. As for my response... You may not like it. I'm currently being hospitalized and some of the other patients there are going through similar things. From listing to them and looking at your scenario I would really recommend taking a break. I'm not saying "break up", but just take a break. She obviously cares very much about you, but you seem not to care about yourself. By that I mean you seem to be to hard on yourself. Please trust me when I say that you aren't alone in how you feel. There are ways out there to help yourself. From what it sounds like, your focusing a lot on how your girlfriend thinks of you and not on getting control of your anxiety and bipolar disorder (a very hard combination to deal with). I really think you should take a week or two away from all your stressors (not complete isolation but just taking a step back from it all). And focus on you, yourself, and yourself only. Focus on getting a control over your anxiety and panic attacks. Focus on learning coping methods. Focus on figuring out what makes you happy. And I'm going to recommend for you that you try to learn a coping skill called reality checks. I'm not to savvy on them but basically just assess everything going on bit by bit. Break it down and think; "What proof do I have that this will happen.", "what is the best possible way this will go down." "What is the most likely way this will go down." Ect, ect.
