well you can all hate me for being a killjoy or whatever but I'm gonna be honest, I HATED this fucking like animation update. its performative. yes its nice that they acknowledged aro and intersex people yada yada but you all are way too nice to corporations who do NOT actually give two shits about us. I don't care, I'm bursting your bubble, if you are trans or intersex in any way shape or form, TUMBLR IS NOT YOUR FRIEND. maybe a lot of the people ON Tumblr, sure! theres a great queer community on here, but TUMBLR is not to be trusted in the SLIGHTEST. I know its depressing but if you want to be an actual ally to the rest of your community, you HAVE to acknowledge this fact. they didn't even originally include the trans and intersex stripes on their progress pride flag like animation.
please stop trusting Tumblr staff. this site has so many awesome queer people and none of them are acknowledging the disproportionate banning of Black people, Indigenous people, other POC, intersex people, trans people (especially trans women and transfems), fat people, disabled people, nonbinary folks, and sex workers. you are also failing to recognize the rampant issues with falsely marking random posts as mature, including FULLY CLOTHED photos of Black people and trans people. I am BEGGING you to PLEASE ACKNOWLEDGE US. I wake up every single morning in fear that I will be unjustly banned simply for the fact that I am a disabled intersex trans woman.
if you bring up ISFF or that one bunny blogger on this post you are giving me full permission to yell at you btw! its just how it is! just because some of the trans women and POC on this site have broken the rules doesn't change the fact that we are still being disproportionately banned. there are still innocents being banned in waves and if those rule breakers were cis and white, I can GUARANTEE they wouldn't be getting banned! remember that there are full on actual nazis and known predators on this platform that are allowed to run wild as long as they're cis and white! if you want proof that these bans are actually happening, genuinely just come out of your white little circle and talk to any Black blogger. go talk to trans women on this platform. BIPOC have felt and been unsafe on this platform for years and you aren't ALLOWED to just ignore it. I don't expect any regular user to just magically reinstate the thousands of minorities banned, but please at least recognize us. please see us. please.
sorry if this was kind of a jarring post to read, but thats the point. please recognize whats happening and do not blindly trust staff. hell, this should be obvious to many, but don't blindly trust ANY corporation! if you needed me to tell you that, then its ok, because I'm glad I told you. just please stop being ignorant towards the parts of our community who are shunned and constantly targetted on Tumblr.
