So they are telling me that Victoria Hand, the woman who sent agents to missions and lied to them about extractions, the woman who was ready to kill five or her own people to get to Coulson, the woman who wanted to kill a bounded prisoner, is a good model for a damaged teenager? She is better than Garret, I admit that, at least she didn’t left a 15 kid alone in the woods (I hope) and she isn’t a murderer. But the indifference Hand showed towards her own people’s lives for me looked like borderline psychopathic. Sorry, unless Coulson’s team and aos’ writers I have memory.

But (probably against the writer’s intentions) this Hand-as-Ward’s-mentor story shows that Ward’s nature is really good. Contrary to the natural born evil the writers wanted us to believe he was, his inner soul had to be very good. Because:

-       With a raging psycho as mentor, Ward was still able to maintain his humanity enough to: love the guy who left him alone in the woods for five years; love his teammates and fall in love with Skye and (maybe) Kara; minimize casualties whenever he could; don’t harm civilians; try to make amends to the people he hurt; and try to give Kara (who has been abandoned to torture, brainwashing and death by wonderful, compassionate Shield) the help none gave him. He didn’t retaliate against anything the oh so righteous Shield people did to him, including trying to kill him three times. He only went crazy with grief and revenge when they killed Kara (the only person in his 32 years of life that treated him like a human) using his own hands.

-       With a woman who was cold and hard as nails but decent enough as mentor, he became a freaking hero. The one he could have become out of the fw in the “main” world if Coulson et al had brains and basic humanity enough to fill a nut.

Of course, Team Coulson, the writers and the haters won’t admit it, never. But giving that I don’t give a sh*t for what they think and always liked Ward and thought that his demonization was BS,, I’m satisfied.

Do someone know if the network had forced the writers to do this story? Because it is unlike them and everything they have done until now. I wonder.

Anakin and Grant are similar

Both Got pushed into the darker side of the story out of agony of the loss of someone they loved,and because not one gave them a second chance at the beginning of it all.

Phillip Coulson:My team? You are not nor will you ever be on my team! You killed Hand and Koenig,You dropped fitzsimmons out of a plane you betrayed everyone of us you deluded son of a bitch! the only reason we kept you alive was because you were of use,and the reason we’re transferring you to your brother is because he’s more of use

The resemblance? the fact that both Obi-Wan and Coulson Chose the easy path,not forgiving and seeing the other as a villain other than trying to make them see the light and make them see their doings which is repulsive to me.

May:Agent Blake took the south corner right? he’s still radio silent?[Via walkie talkie]All agents converge at the south corner I’ll meet you there do not lower your guard until you see my face.

Agent:Hunter’s the only agent left

May:She doesn’t know that

Grant Ward[Shoots Kara believing it’s May]

Kara:Baby?

Grant Ward:What? no..Kara? no Kara? Kara?Look at me! look at me![as he saw it was truly Kara]No no no no kara! Look at me baby c’mon..it’s..it’s..

  Anakin/Darth Vader:Maester?

Anakin/Darth Vader: Where is Padme? is she safe? is she alright?

Lord Sidious:It seems in your Anger,You Killed her

Anakin/Darth Vader: I..I couldn’t Have, she was Alive! I felt it![as he left the bed and used the force to destroy all he could around him he allowed the words to sink in]No!

The Resemblance:The believe/Action of killing the one he cared for was the critical step needed so both could fall into the wrong side of the fight.

Another Ressemblance,as Much as Hive had control of Ward’s Body..portions of the Man himself still remained,much like Darth Vader that had too much Pain suffering and Darkness..there was Still a bit of light that belonged to anakin

and the more I think about these things the more I see that the Main difference between these two Damaged Characters,is that Anakin had someone that belived in him despite his Vader persona and that gave him redemption and Salvation,While Grant Ward didn’t Have Salvation from Hive or redemption.

I’m sure that other people are able to say this a lot more eloquently than I am, but I have a lot of feelings on this matter. Just let me get it out there.

I know that Ward is not a good person. Heck, he’s said as much himself. I am not trying to excuse his actions. The thing is... he’s not the ONLY bad person on the show. And as far as backstories go, he’s probably got the most reasons to be messed up.

I’m not against S.H.I.E.L.D. just because Ward is my favorite character or any reason like that. I just can’t stand the double standards. Something about this show has evoked really strong feelings about how I think people should be treated. I actually think that the people of S.H.I.E.L.D. could learn from the behavior of the Avengers in the show “Avengers Assemble.” In 1x08 of that show, Iron Man saves Molecule Kid and Molecule Kid says something along the lines of “Help me? After what I did?” Tony’s answer? “It’s just what we do.”

I know that it would be different for the S.H.I.E.L.D. agents since they have feelings of betrayal, but they could still treat Ward like an actual human being. Heck, they have Andrew around to be a psychologist for basically anyone except the person who needs it most. I know Ward did horrible things, but the solution is not to stick him down in a dark cell alone for who knows how long, just to bring him out to hand over the his brother, who in my eyes is far worse.

I’m not 100% sure on the time length of things, but from what I’ve seen on other posts, Ward was in the woods alone for something like 5 years? The only person he would have had any contact with was Garrett. He didn’t even know at first that he would be working for HYDRA. Wouldn’t anyone have issues after that alone? And that was after his horrible childhood. Garrett was probably the first person to show him any kind of kindness (even though it was not true kindness for the sake of being kind) so it makes sense that he would be so loyal to him. Ward wasn’t even loyal to HYDRA. He was loyal to Garrett. Even though he may not have been brainwashed in the more traditional way, he may as well have been.

That kind of thing does do things to people. My family used to live in a house where we had no neighbors and no friends around me (I only got to see my friends one week out of the year). We spent a year there and now I’ve spent a year in a new house where there are people my age that I get to see all the time. You know what? After just one year of being isolated, the only people I am comfortable with are my family, who were the only people I was around during that time. I lost almost all of my friends I had before because I could no longer communicate with them and I disliked being around a lot of other people.

Enough about me though. My point is, that was after one year of isolation and I have always had a wonderful family who loves me and makes sure I know it. I can’t imagine what it would be like for FIVE years with absolutely no one except one person who would occasionally show up. I’d probably be desperate to do anything that would keep that one person around.

I guess the point of this novella is that Ward is not a good person, but he his what he was shaped to be. He needed help, therapy, VERY extensive therapy, not to just be forgotten or antagonized.

And now he’s dead apparently, so...

You know, that policy that SHIELD found so abhorrent that HYDRA uses.
