the 100 crack  / /  (39 / ?) 7x05 edition ft. @animatedtext
So, the clown in me is forced to compare those two scenes. The scene where Bellamy talks to Echo, and the scene where he talks to Clarke.
I’m not gonna go into in depth detail right now, but here’s the things I noticed.
1. Bellamy was more emotional when pleading with Clarke than with Echo and Raven.
2. “I’m still the man you love”, I immediately noticed that it wasn’t “I’m still the man who loves you”. VS. “I’m still the man who brought you back from the dead” with tears in his eyes.
3. The feel I got from these convos was that even if Bellamy and Clarke don’t get together romantically, their friendship is deep and intense and they both believe (or believed) that it could last forever. The Echo/Bellamy relationship doesn’t feel as deep or long lasting.
insp.
So I loved all of this. I loved the ending for Diyoza, I felt it was meaningful and worthy of her and a great end to her arc. I LOVED Madi jumping in and trying to save Indra, that felt on character for her!
I think the fact that only Raven went to Echo is kinda telling. And so I’ve not posted this but i’ve talked with this on dm with a few ppl that I really think the whole Echo saga of revenge parallels Bell in 3A and I loved the callout for that here! I felt validated haha. I AM SO EXCITED TO SEE BELL. And I love Clarke’s callout (don’t even get me started on Echo saying Clarke doesn’t know Bell, bc while yes I acknowledge that the thing about Echo taking vengeance is very different from Clarke making hard and terrible choices for her ppl is different, I do think Clarke knows Bellamy best).
Okay that is my general thoughts on the episode! I hope you all enjoyed it!

a thought tho it's interesting we are seeing Finn parallels with E cause that's kinda always what the relationship reminded me of.
like I don't think e actually loves Bellamy and I didn't think Finn actually loved Clarke. might seem crazy to say lol but I said it. I think it was obsession, reverence, fucking worshipping them like gods devotion...but I don't think it was love.
I think in Finn's case he was just young, stupid, and traumatized. With E idk my dudes. I think she was raised to follow a king/queen and that became who she is...she's nothing without him...so she snapped.
Mistakes are forgiveable. Not learning from them isn’t.
Let me tell you the difference between what e.choke did and what everyone else on this show does.
1. everyone else gets called out (look at literally any scene of clarke making an executive decision). Last season, eggo killing ryker was seen as the right thing to do. Why? It wasn’t! He was helping them. In s5, SHE betrayed Shaw long before clarke did....yet we only saw the fallout for clarke.
2. They feel remorse. We see none of that from waffle.
3. They have a fleshed out character arc that doesn’t rely on someone else saying ShES ChAnGeD!!!! We SEE that change, whether it’s for better or worse. We literally did a 180 with her going straight from villain or at best, adversary who allies with you because it’s convenient for her, to HERO WHO SAVES EVERYONE. Even tho she doesn’t. If you need to give clarification on the story, it isn’t a good one! @ jroth
4. Clarke and co’s hard decisions are almost always made when they’ve exhausted every other option. They try other things. She does not. Ever.
In conclusion:
