1. Research : The first and more important step is to research about your ancestors, who were they, what did they like, try to get as much informations as possible

2. Build your relationship with them : There are multiple ways to do this, you can build them an altar, with pictures and item they like, give them offerings, like your grand grandfather's favorite drink or your grand grandmother's favorite perfume, or simply talk to them, give them attention, they'll like it

3. Ask them for guidance :This is a form of divination that's called necromancy, it means calling on the dead for guidance. When you ask your ancestors for guidance, they'll find a way to tell you, either through signs, or dreams (I even had times where the answer popped into my head overnight)

4. Ask them for help : Your ancestors have been in the physical realm, what kind of spririt knows best what a human needs? When you need something in your life, ask your ancestors for help and they'll try to help you.

5. Be greatfull : Remember that it's thanks to your ancestors that you came to be, and that you are who you are, when you ask them for help or guidance, don't forget to thank them, and keep a good relationship with them
