No way anyone would be mentally stable after being told that at a certain age you'll become a slave by the Shadow, especially being a kid after having that scary encounter. If I was in his position, I would be being brawling my eyes out at any age after being remind of that curse. Not to mention that it was his fault for being cursed!

Surely after getting home that day, Child!Bastian must've told his whole family about the whole curse thing (Who wouldn't? Unless he was too afraid of getting into trouble for going somewhere he shouldn't be).

Personally, I find this game to be Dark Dome's PEAKEST! The art/animation, the story, the twists, the ending, ALL IMPACTFUL!! I'm really sorry I'm late with this 😟, this time I'm really am to blame! I did started this early in the month but for some reason I only continued it days before the day came, and also this is the most HARDEST one worked I on (the couple were ALOT harder than I thought). Again I'm sorry.

And since Lou mentioned that cursed places like the house had keys to escape Penumbra, it makes me wonder what they could've been doing at the time for the woman to be trapped down there in the first place

I like how she and the dead man she grieved over mirror Bastian and Carissa's case, how one of them got trapped in Penumbra while the other did their best to free them. But while Carissa was able to get help (Lian, Lou, Ren and, unknowingly, Laia) to free Bastian, the man wasn't able to get the black-haired lady out, dying without ever getting to reunite with her, and she continued to grieve him down in Penumbra until Bastian helped her move on.

The kicker was that the guy already had the white diamond needed for the keys but the woman was nowhere close to finding the black diamond

Usually escape games like this show these types of scenes as a way to give us clues and hints for the next puzzle and move on. But in Another Shadow they reversed it so that we need to finish a puzzle before the scene would be played out to us. If you remove the entire sequence and just move on straight to the part where Lian arrives at the house, absolutely nothing would change.
