We should always take everything everyone says with a pinch of salt. But the lesson here is just that we don’t have to engage anyone if we don’t want to. That’s all we need to believe.

Please he is a classic introvert who gets overwhelmed with too much social interaction back to back, especially the press. He has been super nice to fans who sees him and stands and talks for a long time.Some fans who met him during season 2 of IWTV and TNR set said he stopped eating to come talk to them very enthusiastically. He has said it's the media and press that makes him nervous and that he loves talking to fans.
He does say some experiences are crazy because it has been crazy for him. He got death threats in SDCC. Haters made up that he beat up his partner after season 1. He was called everything under the sun-racist,white supremacist,abuse apologist you name it. People said Jacob and Bailey should be protected from him. People tried to dig up extremely personal information about him including his address. He said he saw hateful things that made him lose sleep for 6 months so he limited his google time. It's not about US media or him not liking fans.
I thought we had more empathy for socially anxious people and he has said he can get very anxious and nervous during press. I don't even want to go into him potentially being ND contributing to some of this. I am ND and I have clocked certain things. People are not the same and not every actor is an extrovert soaking up the spotlight but that doesn't mean they don't appreciate the people who consumes their work. Even extroverts have trouble with the constant scrutiny and talks about wanting to take a breather and experience some normalcy after a whirlwind of press and events.
If the other anon says Sam is pushing back and to give the man space so he can cook, how is that an offense to your point?

What French mob? A vampire pair of Gabistat hunting down their own abusive family now counts as a mob? (Also, I think Gabriella would resent being referred to as French!)
1. I wrote that so as not to spoil lol
2. In the book, Gabrielle has sent Lestat’s father to him because he is blind and needs care, but the rest of the family was killed by a mob in the book
3. In the show, Lestat refers to the French mob that killed his family… but his memories tell a different story. We need to keep in mind that Lestat tells what he wants people to believe, often obscuring the truth. So, this is the first of many times we can expect this to happen in the show.
Thinking that an actor or actress shouldn't talk about their personal life because it disrupts your fantasy or immersion is never a good thing; it opens the door to parasocial behavior, leading you to believe that these actors "owe" you something.
What an actor or actress does in their private life should NEVER truly affect you, because you don't know these people
