When Anthony arrived, he stepped out of his vehicle and bid his driver a good evening as he made his way up the stairs to the grand house of Monsieur Mercier. Whilst Anthony was not a man of the grandiose, he appreciated events such as this where he could get down to business with the gathering of such hundreds of people from far and wide, and sure, he would allow himself a few frivolities in the evening as well.

Though it was the early evening, the party was already in full swing as he arrived. With multiple waiters and waitresses offering in libations at all angles, he opted for a coupe of champagne as he ascended the stairs and continued within the building until he reached the gardens that stretched as far as the eye could see with entertainment so decadent most would be lost for choice. Anthony, however, chose to beeline for the bar though he had a full glass, knowing he would somewhat make a home for himself there as he took his hat off to set on the table before him and sipped languidly at his drink.

ANNEES FOLLES EVENT #01

For our very first event here at Annees Folles, you will find yourself at the annual Summer Gala of Monsieur Mercier!

There you will find much frivolities such as magicians, musicians, dancers, acrobats and more, and of course don’t forget the free flowing champagne.

Were you invited personally? A plus one? A gatecrasher - that is to you to decide! No matter how you get there, you are sure to partake in one of the biggest events of the year.

Monsieur Mercier has a grand house by the waters with land for miles, private swimming pool, and a plethora of rooms within the mansion to explore. Anywhere your heart would desire in such a grandiose event such as this is at your fingertips.

Don’t be late! 

For this event we ask that everybody creates one new open starter for the event for anybody to reply as well as post what your muse will be wearing to the party albeit in a photoset, link to a pinterest board, an image of a model of the correct time period - it is all up to you!

AF Event #1: The Mercier Summer Gala

It was no secret that Vivienne loved parties. There wasn’t much not to like about them, really. Good music, good food and plentiful booze weren’t something to complain about.

And in her opinion, there was really something to be said for big, glamorous, glittering parties. There were so many wonderful and terrible people to bump elbows with –all jumbled up together, dolled up in their finery, waiting to see what the night would hold.

And luckily for Vivienne, she had just arrived at one of these very soirees. And what’s more, it was guaranteed to be fairly eventful, being one of Monsieur Mercier’s efforts. There was a reason why Mercier's parties never left the lips of the society folk.

Or, at least, they never had when she’d been a member of society. She imagined things hadn’t changed much. 

She looked around at the spectacle in front of her, doing her best to locate the bar. After all, what better way was there to start a party on the right foot than a drink?

But before she could make her way over, she was distracted by the sight of a familiar face.

Perhaps she should say hello. It would be rude not to, surely.

"Why, hello there!” she called. “Enjoying the night so far?”

            How lovely!     Monsieur Holst has decided to throw a party!

Tonight our own dear Anthony Holst will play host to a lavish party on the top floor of the Hotel Montmartre. Dancers, artists, bankers, courtesans, and those of all different walks in life will be in attendance. Rumor has it that the party won’t stop until the tenth floor becomes the ninth! 

What the majority of Paris doesn’t know is that it’s all merely a distraction for what’s going on downstairs in the dining room on the first floor. Seedy dealings will be happening, but with such chaos going on up in the clouds, who cares what’s happening down below? 

Tonight we will be holding another Chatzy event! This is a chance for our muses to interact in real time, and for muses who have not met to interact for the first time as well! Whilst impromptu, we hope you can join us. It will begin at 5pm EST (within the hour) where we shall release the link on Discord and our OOC chat. Do not worry if you cannot join us exactly at that time, we will likely be on it most of the night. And if you must decline the invitation due to prior engagements, there will be more pop-up events in the future!

There will be 2 different Chatzy rooms: 1 for the tenth floor and 1 for the first. You are free to move about each one, but keep in mind that certain plots will be playing out in each location (as described below) that you may/may not want your characters involved in. Don’t worry about missing anything, Gigi will have a recap afterwards!
