First Date w/ Kuroo Tetsurou
kuroo is 100% a reliable and caring man. he may act all cool and goofy sometimes but when it gets down to it, he's fairly serious.
and one of the times where he got so serious was today: when he asked you out on a date.
he's pretty straightforward actually, but when it came to you, he found himself wavering.
was he nervous? scared? hesitant? well, maybe a mix of all those.
he didn't want to get rejected. he liked you very, very much.
the only reason he gathered enough courage today was because of yaku's smack to his head earlier on, the libero shouting at him, "just what are you talking about, kuroo? don't you know that y/n likes you too?! i mean almost everyone knows already for goodness–"
yeah yeah, he got his point. that's why he came to you after class, his heart in his hand as he carefully chose his words.
"hey y/n!" he approached you slowly. it's now or never.
"hi kuroo," you smile at him. "what's up?"
"oh, i... i just wanted to ask you something. are you free this weekend? like, uh, do you have any activities planned or?"
you tilt your head to the side, a finger tapping your chin thoughtfully. "no, i don't think so. why?"
"ah it's just that i wanted to know if you'd be down to go to that new café?" when you don't answer for a few seconds, kuroo quickly adds, "i just heard that they're serving delicious food there and i thought just maybe you'd like to try it out? but if not that's completely fine you know i–"
"kuroo," you cut off his blabbering with a teasing smile. "are you asking me out on a date?"
kuroo purses his lips and then chuckles. he rubs the back of his neck and smirks at you, "and what if i am?"
"then i'd say yes."
the night before the big date, kuroo couldn't sleep. he had already planned his outfit like ten times, called up kenma to ask for advice (not like he had any), and even tried to change his hairstyle.
he just wanted your date to be perfect and he wanted to look all handsome (he didn't know you already think of him as the most handsome and sexy man on earth 😔✋)
you're actually pretty nervous yourself. but more than that you were excited. you don't know how long you've waited for this. you've liked kuroo for a while now, and you know you're going to have fun on your date. because that's who kuroo is. he's fun to be with, easy to talk to, your coversations flow like a river and he makes you laugh at the silliest things.
so imagine your surprise when you meet up with kuroo the next day. he was looking so handsome, as usual, and you looked extra pretty too that it has rendered him speechless.
he's not his usual goofy self, he was more... reserved? maybe because you were both highly aware that this was a date that you became so nervous to even talk about the usual stuff.
but kuroo knew it shouldn't be this way so he clears his throat and starts making small talk.
it takes you a few more minutes to warm up and when you finally do, you let out a small chuckle.
"what? what's so funny?" kuroo smiles at you as you make your way towards the café.
"nothing," you shake your head. "you know you don't have to be so nervous around me, right?"
this time kuroo laughs and he visibly relaxes. it may have been his first time going on a date, but he's glad that that first time was with you.
the rest of your date would go smoothly from there.
kuroo's such a gentleman and he always asks if there's someplace you wanna go or something you wanna do.
but you'll just reply, "anywhere's fine as long as i'm with you."
ah, when did you get so brave with your words?
kuroo internally screams, he's so utterly inlove with you that for the rest of the day he couldn't keep the smile/smirk that forms on his lips whenever he looked at you.
and all he could think about is how he wants to hold your hand and walk you back home.
which he successfully does after a few hand brushes and fleeting glances.
your date ends with kuroo standing in front of your door, your hand still firmly entwined with his.
"i had a lot of fun today kuroo. thank you so much."
"i should be the one thanking you, y/n. i didn't think you'd accept it."
"ah, what are you talking about?" you laugh. "you do know i've liked you for a long time now, right?"
there you go again, your words making his heart flutter.
"you," kuroo leans down and now you're face to face. "how can you be so amazing and beautiful?"
now it's your turn to be flustered, your cheeks heating up at how close he is to you. and then your heart beats faster now that he shows you that signature grin.
kuroo leans in to place a kiss on your cheek and whispers, "you know i like you too, right?"
when he pulls away, he places another kiss on your hand.
"it's getting late, you better head inside now."
the only thing you can do is nod and hold your cheeks.
kuroo chuckles again and turns around to leave. but just before he makes it out of your front yard, he calls out to you, "good night y/n! i'll text you when i get home baby!"
