The brave little jumping spider who kept my chili pepper seedlings safe from equally tiny flies! I didn't see them again after this picture was taken because there weren't any flies left and I got worried about prey availability so I gently guided them outside. However, I'm choosing to believe their efforts were instrumental to getting the seedlings to where they are now. (Picture taken in the Netherlands.)

When she died because of an unfortunate case of getting sucked dry like a capri-sun, I gave the obligatory Tragic Rogue Backstory to my new Paladin instead. :p

Since Anders, Astarion and Gale canonically like cats, I'm imagining conversation sliding that way one night over the campfire. Anders explains almost casually that he wasn't allowed to keep cats for most of his life, during which Astarion is lowkey drawing parallels in his brain, and although still snarky about it he comments that at least Anders gets to pet all the fuzzballs he wishes to now, before telling them a little about Malta, the cat that usually hangs out near Cazador's mansion.

Anders and Gale immediately pounce on that because anything that'll have Astarion be less standoffish is probably a positive and draw him into their conversation, and it takes Astarion several days to realize that wait, this probably counts as A Friendly Conversation, right? Does this make them friends now? Or at least on friendly terms? And he didn't even have to flirt for it or anything???

Yess this would happen.

It would also lead to them including him more naturally in conversation to find more interests they share-- because they have a foothold now.

My favorite it always “omg Rhea told Byleth to kill Edelgard what a crazy monster!”

Than is definitely not amused when Zag reminds him of this. Listen, just because they were dumbasses doesn’t mean he wants his child being mutilated because their daddy didn’t want to follow standard safety protocol and not throw him sixteen feet into the air.

Zagreus finds this entire concept of “standard safety protocol” ridiculous I mean... they’re gods aren’t they? And their baby is a god? It’s not like they’re going to die? Heck, his entire job is fighting through the underworld and possibly dying in a variety of horrible ways. Buuuuuut eventually he decides it’s best to just not mess with mamabear Than.

ooh I don’t have many that I wrote so there arent any specifics that I am proud of. I really like the ones that I can relate to (or were prompted by my life experiences). Mod Nicole writes quite a few of our prompts when the queue is low and hers are always brilliant too.

oh, most of my favorite parts of spitfire haven’t come out yet! actually, one of those favorite bits is in the chapter i’m currently writing (14). i’m really excited to get to there.

out of what’s already up, i think chapter 7 (nausea) is my favorite. i think in large part because of how much it changed from the outline to the execution of it.  originally, this chapter was meant to be told from Feon’s POV. i didn’t switch it to Allene’s POV until i started writing it -- and i’m so glad i did, it was definitely the right decision for SO many reasons. i think it would have been a lot less interesting/dramatic from Feon’s POV.
